I really like Snack. The seating space is pretty small, but I always get take-out. I'm a big fan of their vegetarian options and have never been disappointed.

I have been meaning to write this and am finally doing so! We ordered every recommendation from out server--from the lush red wine through the homemade pastry of baklavah, and it was delicious. This is rustic greek cooking in a very casual but cool setting. We ate every drop of the Greek salads, the cheese triangle, and the tzatzikik w/the delicious homemade pita...mmmm. To satisfy the vegetarian in our group, we ate the cheese pie next, and it did not disappoint. Going back for more!!

Pros: The fooooood, service, reasonable prices!

Cons: Small place, go at off hours

This is a great place for lunch. You can just grab a sandwich to go. If you're planning to eat there, don't go with a lot of people because it is a small little place. I got a chicken sandwich and a lemonade. The bread was slightly toasted on the outside and nice and chewy on the inside. The hummus doesn't seem bad either, and it comes with freshly baked pitas. There is a $20 minimum for credit cards though, so bring your cash.

I love coming here. their pastisio is warm and delicious on a cold winter's night. their greek salad is always fresh and the feta is mild. there are only 6 tables in this place, so the best time to go is not on the weekend when it's overcrowded. but on a cold monday night with hunger pains in my tummy i love coming here. also, the beat salad is perfect for something lighter.

great greek wine list too.

Over the top pretentiousness at this dump. We had the rudest waitress and the food was over priced and it is so small inside that you're touching elbows with the next table.

Tried to go for a 'snack' on a late Sunday afternoon, it was dead empty [this should have been a sign to keep away], the waitress gave us a weird look when we came in and then told us there was a $15 minimum per customer - ?! Is that even legal? we left. Not worth it. Never going back. Will never recommend this place either.

Reading some of these reviews - are the reviewers reviewing the right place? it is not even on Bleecker street?? The tables are so crammed together, it is hard to enjoy yourself... and it is so dark and dingy, and damp and dirty.... you cant even see your food.... probably better not to see it!

Have sadly only eaten inside Snack a few times. I don't live or work too close so my golden chances are rare.
Can say that every meal there has been wonderful. The place is charming, the staff delightful and the food scrumptious. Am not Greek but if I were..I'd swear my mom was cooking for me there.
I always order various hot & cold appetizers and then always fall for the lamb sandwich.
A foodie friend taught me to ask for the lamb on pita and the sauce just works magic into the pita.
Apart from the lamb I highly recommend their mousaka, the fava appetizer and their greek salad.

I am just a little out of their range but they - with pleading and dog whimpering - deliver to my business and make me and my clients ohhhhh so very happy.

Although a little off the beaten track, if you happen to be shopping along Bleeker, this is a really great place to go. The greek salad is a very healthy portion and very fresh; as an appetizer it is easily sharable between 3 or 4 people. The staff is friendly and cheerful. The Avgolemono Eggs are reminicent of eggs florentine with beautifully poached eggs layered over spinach, tomatoes and rustic bread with a delicious lemon sauce and come with a very nicely made side of pomme frites with caramelized onions and coriander. I'm not a big fan of potatoes with breakfast normally, but these were very well made. The warm frappes are very good. And the restaurant seems very family friendly. A+ for good service, great comfort food, and charming atmosphere.

Everything in this place is wonderful, but the veal meatballs are especially wonderful!!! YUMMY! They melt in your mouth! The service is great, and although small, the place is very comfortable. Also love the vegetarian and lamb sandwiches!

I came upon Snack while shopping solo in SoHo. Upon stepping inside, I decided to take my food to go. I ordered the Vegetarian Souvlaki (not positive about spelling). After making my way to an outdoor table a block away, I started to chow down. I was expecting the sandwich to be warm, but it was cold, and the pita was a bit overstuffed. But after a few bites, I was loving it. The sweet sauce balanced the sharpness of the onions, and the other veggies were delicious. I would definitely reccomend this cozy spot for take out (because of the limited seating). A great find.

I just love this place?..Yes, they don?t have a few things we have come accustom to when dining, like diet coke or wine glasses?and the bathrooms are behind lock and key in the hallway of the neighboring apartment building. BUT you have to try this place! The atmosphere is so quiet, cozy and dim lit. The rustic wood tables and no frills Greek decor are so inviting. The food is always delicious and something about the place is relaxing!!!. Great for dates and catching up with a friend. Go on off hours to avoid a wait and not good for big parties. Great Lunch place too! The largest table seats 4, I think.
Must try it!!!!

This quaint Greek cafe is candle-lit and perfect for an intimate meal with friends or date. You can't go wrong with ANYTHING on the menu, and I recommend trying something new. The service is wonderful and the wine list is expansive, ask the server for a recommendation and she'll bring you the best glass you've ever had!

Eating at Snack would be exactly like eating at your Greek grandmother's, if your grandma were 40 years younger, hip, and a gourmet cook. I found the Citysearch review of this place particularly unhelpful, as though the reviewer had never eaten Greek food before. The "sweetish, oniony lamb stew" that's described as only "serviceable" is in reality a simply magical rendition of a classic. The avgolemono is heavenly, and the keftedes are the best I've ever had. Ever. (Sorry, Yiayia.)

EVERYTHING WAS JUST PERFECT. THE SPACE, ELEMENTS, FOOD AND PRESENTATION, SIMPLICITY AND SERVICE. THE HORTA ARE EXCEPTIONAL, THE HORIATIKI SALAD ALTHOUGH I WOULD PREFER THAT IT WAS CHOPED RIGHT AT THE MOMENT THAT WAS ORDERED MET MY STANDARDS..PAPOUTSAKIA OR LITTLE SHOES VERY INTERESTING ALTHOUGH THE CREAMY TOPPING (BECHAMEL)COULD HA BEEN A BIT CREAMIER..THE SAGANAKI WAS FAIR AND THE PIES JUST FINE, NOTHING SPECIAL BUT PRETTY GOOD FOR STARTERS. THE SERVICE WAS ABSOLUTELY FINE AND THE OVERALL ATMOSPHERE PLEASANT. I LIKED THE ATHENIAN BEER WHICH I NEVER B4 HAD IN ATHENS-GREECE. GOOD GOOD-AS A GREEK DIFFICULT SAVVY CUSTOMER I AM GREATLY SATISFIED BY THIS TEENY GREEK BISTRO. I WOULD CERTAINLY RECCOMEND IT-

My friend and I were intrigued by the nightly entree special, "Little Shoes," (eggplant stuffed with ground sirloin), and so we decided to eat at Snack. Although very tiny, we were able to stand while we waited and have a glass of wine at the narrow 'bar.' I absolutely loved the atmosphere, but I was a bit disappointed to find out that they were out of the entree special by the time we sat down. My substitute entree, Veg. Moussaka, was hearty and good, but cinnamon overpowered the other flavors. My friend had the stuffed tomato and green pepper plate, which I liked better.

The place is tiny -- 10 to 12 people at most -- but, the size creates an intimate dining atmosphere complimented by well-prepared food. We're not talking about gyros and other greasy Greek nosh. The ingredients are fresh and nicely presented. The dim candle-lit lighting and unique decor suggest romance. The service is friendly and attentive. Prices are extremely reasonable -- ~$25 a head incl. tax & tip. Worth checking out, esp. after a chilly day strolling about in Soho.

Snack is a perfect place to eat. The food is delicious. REALLY delicious. The menu is small and focused. The service is friendly and smart. I've been to a ton of the big restaurants here in the city, and some of them are great, but Snack is at the top of my list. I recommend this for a good date place - it really is a "find". The restaurant is small so be prepared to wait if you go at a busy time.

I've only stopped by Snack for takeout, but the food is utterly fabulous and I've never met with the poor service and attitude that other reviewers are complaining of. In fact, the servers have always been very goodhumored and adept at dealing with the very limited space in this understandably overcrowded spot. The taramasalata is unbelievable and the eggplant divine--even if the service were worse, it'd be worth it for the food.
