I went to a wedding at "Terrace on the Park" last week and I thought this place was beautiful.

Yes, the outside looks a little like a space ship, but I don't know... I even liked that part of it. It was unique... and you knew it held something interesting inside.

Once inside, we were greeted by personal attendants and taken up to the top floor penthouse for a rooftop wedding, cocktail hour, and reception.

I found the entire staff helpful and courteous. They went above and beyond by continuously adjusting silverware placement and napkins on the table to make sure that the look of the reception stayed true to the couple's dream from course to course. The food was really fantastic and very varied. I left the wedding stuffed because I couldn't turn down anything.

Although, there are several weddings going on at the same time at this location since there are like eight banquet halls here, so that can be a draw back with your guests mixing and mingling in the foyer before they go up to the Penthouse, but that helps keep facility costs down without sacrificing style and beauty. As a newlywed myself, I can truly appreciate that.

Anyway, I can recommend Terrace on the Park to anyone else for making his or her wedding party unforgettable for lifetime.

WORSE SERVICE! HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT!
Don't make the same mistake as we did.

My Wedding took place on June 9th 2013 in the main ballroom. I booked the main ballroom for 340 Guest. The seating chart Norman provided us with had table numbers missing & duplicated. We had numerous tables with only couple of people seating leaving a lot of empty seats. According to their staff, one of the tables was missing. There were 2 tables added on upper area and I am not sure why. According to our guest count we had approximately 325 guests attended that night.
My family was approached by Norman, (the scumbag) demanding that they pay 5k+ for the extra guests. He was extremely rude and his behavior towards the situation is unacceptable. He caused emotional distress and threatened to shut down the party if his demand wasnt fulfilled. This left them no choice but to pay and continue with the event.
Our venue was booked until 12AM. They turned of the AC around 11AM, and started cleaning out and kicking people out.
This is not all,
Norman (the scumbag banquet manager) behaved even worse with the catering company that I hired. He spoke down with the catering manager and behaved in a very unprofessional manner. I had set a time with Norman and the catering manager so we can go over the details to avoid confusion. On the day of our appointment, Norman refuses to show the kitchen and tells us to come different day. We had to make another trip to deal with that!
As you can see, I have reached a very high level of frustration with this matter. I wasnt made aware of this until last week since my sister-in-law didnt want to spoil our memorable wedding day!
I have complained to BBB and I will contact my attorney to deal with.

Don't make the same mistake as I did!. STAY AWAY.

I just had my wedding at Terrace on the Park. It was an evening wedding at the penthouse for about 90 people.

I'm a perfectionist, so I don't give 5 stars easily, but I had absolutely no problems with them. Norman was very accommodating with my in-laws food and drink requirements and trust me, they were numerous. We took a more expensive menu as well, not the cheapest one. Literally, the only thing Terrace messed up was the filling of the wedding cake. We ordered Napoleon and it was some white cream, but I didn't even notice until after the wedding. I wish the DJ and the limo guy were as professional as the Terrace staff.

On my side, I made sure everything was paid for on the day before the wedding and just informed Norman I wasn't going to pay the bridal attendant until the middle of the wedding to make sure they were going to do a good job. He didn't bother us at all during the wedding. I just saw him giving orders to the staff, and he came over to congratulate me. You can tell they do this kind of work all the time. My mom tipped the bridal attendant a bit extra than the negotiated tip, because she was so happy with her. I put the bridal attendant to work right away to bring some flowers to my table and set up the runner, but she didn't mind. I also asked for food in the bridal suite and she delivered it. Like I said before, I wish all the vendors were as professional.

Last week we celebrated my niece's Wedding Reception at Terrace on the Park. I planned the wedding with my sister from the very beginning and very VERY PLEASED. Everything Norman said about the Party turned out to be true and he handled every detail perfectly! He was a pleasure to deal with as was the rest of the staff including the very pleasant lady who was our captain and the Bridal attendant was very sweet.

The room couldn't have been nicer, maybe a lttle warmer but the service was great and food very enjoyable. The music was the only disappointment but my nieces contracted them on her own.

I would say to anyone planning a wonderful party - RUN TO TERRACE ON THE PARK

Earlier this year (2010) when we visited Terrace on the Park for the first time, we knew it was the place where we wanted to get married.. and we did. We picked the location for various reasons. First, our banquet manager was very personable and pleasant. He walked us through the entire process of planning a wedding and gave us advices and ideas in addition to making sure that our event was planned the way we wanted it to be. The food was great and plenty. The veiw from the penthouse level was amazing. We were blessed to have had a beautiful weather on our wedding day in June, 2010, and all our guests got a chance to see the manhattan skyline as the backdrop of our event. On Queens side, we also enjoyed the view of Cififield, the famous Arthur Ashe tennis stadium, and the Unisphere of Flushing Meadow park. The ballroom was nothing but extravagant and elegant with beautiful chandelier in the center of the dance floor. Our sweetheart table setup was beautiful with a view of outdoor scenary.

We loved our wedding at Terrace on the Park. All the staff did a wonderful job and we were very pleased with their services. The only one thing that we regret is that we used the florist that was recommended to us by Terrace on the Park. While Terrace on the Park did not have anything to do with our decision to use the florist (Charles Florals of Astoria, NY), we wished we did a better research of the products and services that Charles Florals offered. The florist at Charles Florals did make a beautiful sample of our centerpieces and made wonderful promises, but, on the day of our wedding, the actual centerpieces and other flower decorations were not done as per the contract and per the promises. The bridesmaids bouquets did not look fresh by the afternoon.

This is the one day that you will remember for the rest of your lives together. While Terrace on the Park did a beautiful job for our wedding, Charles Florals did not live up to our expectation and the contract. We do recommend Terrace on the Park, but please, for your sake, be careful if you ever even consider to use Charles Florals.

I got married just over a week ago at Terrace on the Park. Our wedding was absolutely beautiful, but this was in SPITE of the venue.

Since booking at Terrace on the Park over a year ago, I've worked with four catering managers. The one in charge is blind; the rest all string you along so that you think you're "covered."

My husband and I planned every detail of the wedding to make sure our guests, family, and ourselves would feel comfortable and happy. Though we all danced and had an incredible time, I cannot explain how disappointed, angry, and hurt I am by what Terrace on the Park did not do that they promised.

We had a three page list of things to do and how to do them. We also had a list taped on the outside of each box we gave Terrace on the Park with directions.

Though I asked time and again to talk personally with our day-of coordinator, I was told that I shouldn't worry about those things and it would all be covered.Apparently, the Matr' D was never given any of this information. What did that mean?

That meant my bridesmaids set up our seating cards fifteen minutes before people arrived. That meant that my crippled mother-in-law did not have a chair for her during the ceremony to sit in. That meant that there was no table for our ceremony until our rabbi got there to literally carry one over, put down our wine, tallis, ketubah, etc. That meant that the sign in books we had made specially for each table were put on top of candles and burned before the reception began. That meant our musicians did not have chairs. That meant the surprise anniversary cake we'd gotten for my parents was put out with our wedding cake. That meant the bags we had made for children were lost. That meant our ceremony programs weren't on the chairs of the ceremony. That meant there weren't enough chairs during the ceremony. That meant we were never directed when to walk during the ceremony and our entire wedding party walked at almost the same time. That meant that on a 95 degree day, we were not offered the option to use a different room at all.

All of this also meant that, instead of doing anything during our wedding to help us get all of this done, the Matre'D, James, was missing and showed up to ask me questions and demand more money. During cocktail hour, there were not enough chairs, and the Matre'D told me if I didn't want people in the reception room, I'd have to get them out of there myself.

I am absolutely still floating on Cloud Nine, in love with my husband, proud of my bridal party for pulling this off, and happy with what came. But, I do hope that anyone looking into using Terrace on the Park seriously considers their decision.

I just got married here last week. The actual event was really great. It was more than we hope for. I would have given it all 5 stars if it werent for the sales person assigned to us. If you are thinking about having your event here, do NOT under any circumstances use a man named Norman.

Norman is a scumbag first rate. He will tell you any lie you need to hear in order to sign anything he puts in front of you. Since Norman is older, he has no computer, and always hand writes everything which gives him an excuse every time you see him for him to tell you that you havent paid him.

During the entire process he told us that 3 things would be done, like painting the terrace which was sort of disgusting, and cleaning lights etc. None of it was done, but he knew we wouldnt care. Norman's little trick is to tell you that "you are going to get something special because I like you." What you dont know is that since you cant actually read the details of the plans, he only tells you 80% of what you are paying for and then on the day you are "suprised" with this generous gift...which isnt a gift at all. He admitted this to me.

The worst part of Norman is that once you have paid him, you will never get any service from him again. We made the mistake of paying him 2 weeks before the wedding in full and we never got to see or talk to him again.

During the wedding, we had 2 attendants. One woman and one man, the woman was very nice, but it was obvious that I was sharing an attendant with another party, but I paid 100% of the cost for him. He was no where to be found after the 1st 2 hours.

The place is beautiful, and the food was good wedding food. The bartender Lloyd was absolutely the best.

The biggest problems came when I had to ask Norman for the remainder of our wedding cake. My wife and her mother-in-law asked the male attendant to save the remainder of the cake and just put it in the back of any car. Now this was a $2000 cake and there was plenty of it left. After trying to get a hold of Norman, he told me that it was the attendant who asked my wife and mother-in-law if we wanted the cake and they said to "throw it away". When I told him I was standing right there, he told me that I could come in and question them myself and that I, my wife and mother-in-law were lying.

Cake is cake...We wanted to keep a small part of it and then donate it to the church so their shelters could enjoy our happiness..ok...but how about this:

In that conversation, Norman tried to tell me that we owed him for 2 more people. That we had underpaid and it was his good graces that he allowed the wedding to go forward because he was a nice guy. In fact we OVERPAID by 8 people and I had to argue with him until he blamed it on the "money guys". I asked him how I recover the extra I had paid, and he said I couldnt. I tried to make logic of this, but it IS on the back of the contract you will sign. When you turn in the place settings, you had better be sure that you have either exact or under count the amount of people.

...and to boot, one of the "Staff" put the main centerpiece in the coat closet because, she admitted to the family memeber in control of picking it up, that she "wanted to take it home, because it was beautiful."

Go in with your eyes open. I am trying not to let this ruin what was a beautiful event...ruined by an unscrupulous sales guy 1/4 of the time I paid for of an attendant and a few sticky fingers staff.

While I encourage anyone with the stamina to do this, Sorry Norman, but I was the test of my group of 6 couples within the next year to be married, and I will tell them not to use you in hopes that you are forced to retire for tainting my wedding.

I went to a wedding there last week - it was horrible! I felt so sorry for the bride and groom because it wasn't cheap. This place is a DUMP - filfthy, dirty, run down with terrible food and service. The workers actually send out for food - the bridal party was in the lobby having photos done and a chinese delivery guy walked thru the picture to bring food to the managers. This old guy who works there kept telling my friends how good the place was 30 years ago and asked for the tips before the party. I guess they are afraid no one will tip when they see what a bad job they do. Find another hall - this place was awful.

Was there this weekend and had a truly terrible time. The food was 2nd rate (instant potatoes!) and served by 3rd rate waiters.. we had a surly Greek bartender that practically begged for a tip. last time I was here was about 20 years ago and I remember them being much much better.

My Husband & I attended a Greek Dinner Dance this past Saturday night and I must say it was a totally enjoyable evening. The food was a good as any Greek Restaurant we ever ate at. My son was with us and they were nice enough to accomodate us with a childs meal. Everything I ever heard

HI:
When we aere planning our Wedding we checked about 10 places and read the reviews on all of them. Even with a couple of negative reveiws we loved Terrace On The Park and chose them for our Wedding Reception. Well after having our dream wedding at Terrace all I can say is that the people who wrote those baad reviws must come fom Mars,
Both of our Families and friends who attended all agreed that this was one of the best Weddings they have been two. The food was much better that most catering places and plentiful. The staff could not have been nicer, including our very cute Bridal Attenadant. the only complaint we had that night was the Limo who picked us up was 1 hour late to Terrace, but the staff offered to take ourf things and drive us to our hotel ( they could not have been nicer)

My Daughters Wedding & Reception was held on Terrace on the park this past Saturday, March 6, 2010 and I want to thank all of the wonderful people involved. The staff could not have been nicer to my Daughter or my family. From the moment we booked the party we were treated like family. When we arrived on saturday we were greeted by our Maitre"d James and our Bridal attendant Barbara. These people were so helpful, such as helping with last minute table arrangements and getting drinks for our family.

The room was set like a palace and the service fit a Queen or Princess ( My Daughter). Everyone of my guests complimented on the service and the FOOD _ even my picky ones.

When my second Daughters boy friend "pops" the question - we will definetly go back to Terrace on the Park!

I've been invited to an occasion held in TOP and it was okay. It was beautiful but the service wasn't as great. A few months after that a friend that was working there at the time asked if I wanted to work there on weekends since I needed a second job so I agreed and was hired on the spot. The employees are NOT treated fairly. The managers/owners Frank, Jimmy and Mike spend their time behind the staff and yelling and cursing at us in the kitchen. They spend their time in the parties when they should be paying attention to the food and plates. The dishes and silverware are not fully clean. I used to find dishes already set on the tables with last nights food grease on it, the silverware was just rinsed down in the dish washer. The food really has no flavor or fine cuisine, although us as staff found its taste so good only because they don't let us eat, and if they catch us we get fired and yelled at. It ridiculous because they would usually have us working from 3 or 4PM to 1 or 3AM.. so we're practically starving while serving the food. So word of advice, if you want to have your event at Terrace on the Park, its a beautiful place but be sure to bring in food from a caterer you like the food and have dishes, silverware and glasses of your own. Other than that, you're fine. Oh and also know that you can not take food home. They had a big problem with a party before with that, so they decided to cancel that service. I believe you have to pay extra and its not cheap. Its so sad how much food goes to waste, Huge barrels of food get wheeled out of those kitchens, you can feed a country.

On May 30th, 2009, my wife and I had our wedding at Terrace on the Park. We had booked with them almost a year earlier and received a tremendous deal. For a price that beat out other locations we received a full cocktail hour with a Tuscany Table and 24 passed hors'dourves, a 6 item (turned out to be 7 after they threw in an extra item) dinner buffet, a delicious wedding cake and pastries, and top shelf open bar. In addition to that, the space provided for our cocktail hour and ceremony were gorgeous. Our guests had access to a sun room, a sprawling terrace, a bar area/room, and of course a beautiful ballroom. In fact, the ballroom was one of the reasons I was so set to book with Terrace on the Park. The Terrace on the Park ballroom was the real deal, with a marble dance floor and gorgeous chandelier.

In addition to their fantastic rates and beautiful space, the staff at Terrace on the Park were a pleasure to work with as well. Our banquet manager, Frank Pacheco went out of his way to help us include the personal touches that made our day memorable, such as allowing us to bring in a desert my wife and I shared on our first date and setting it up as part of a desert buffet and having his staff serve it. Also, on the day of the event, Frank personally retrieved four plates of food for some late guests who showed up after the buffet was already closed. Not only was Frank fantastic, but the head maitre d', James, also made sure my wife and I were taken care of. The list could go on because so many members of the staff were so great to us, but I'd also like to specifically compliment the bridal attendant. She took care of everything for my wife, and the extra attention made her feel special and at ease.

I absolutely recommend Terrace on the Park. Our guests have been raving about our wedding, and everyone was blown away by the beautiful views from the penthouse deck (where we had our ceremony), the grandeur of the ballroom, and the abundance of delicious food. I am looking forward to the day that I can return to Terrace on the Park as a guest so that I can enjoy another party there. Hats off to Frank and all of his staff on a job well done!

My Fiance and I looked all around Queens and Long Island for a reception hall. We first looked at the websites of possible reception halls and then visited the places that we liked. I mention this because Terrace on the Park??s website did not stand out, nor does it do justice to the place. We looked at it because I had always driven around the location. Leonard??s website I thought overstated what the place actually looks like. After looking at about 10 places, we narrowed it down to Terrace on the Park, Jericho Terrace, and Elite Palace.

Jericho Terrace is wonderful, but we did not feel right at the place. The Manager was nice at first but then got very cocky, claimed that Jericho Terrace was the best, and said all prices were final. It was also a pretty long drive for us.

Elite Palace is new and looks awesome, but does not have any track record. The only items that I found about the place online were violations with the health department and an issue with the roof parking structure. We asked the Manager to work with us, since they were relatively new, but he claimed that Elite had only the finest service and food. The Manager at Elite Palace claimed he worked at all of these fine events in the city in the past and he brought that to Elite. He became somewhat rude while we spoke with him. He told us that if we need anything we could call or email him. He was not very responsive to our emails or phone calls. We thought that if this was the attention we got before he got our business, imagine how he would be after we signed a contract.

Finally about the choice that we made, Terrace on the Park (TOP). The place is wonderful. The location is great, about 2 minutes from the LIE, 10 minutes away from the Queens Botanical Garden, and 20 minutes from our church. The view from the place is wonderful as well; we thought it was cool to have the wedding with that type of view. As far as the food, TOP is in line with the other reception halls. I have a friend who attended an event there and both him and his wife loved the food.

What finally sealed the deal was the banquet manager we got, Frank Pacheco. He made us feel comfortable from the beginning. He was not pushing like the managers at all of the other places. My Fiance was very impressed by him and so was I. Every request that we have made to him, has been answered. Before we signed with him we asked a lot of questions. I had read some bad reviews about the place and he explained what had actually happened, and it was confirmed by an email I sent to the person who gave all of those negative reviews. As far as the other reviews, they were pretty mixed on food and service, but remember that some of the events at TOP are catered by outside groups.

Frank and TOP have been very accommodating. We had to change our original wedding date from April to May, which meant more money per person since May is a ??wedding month?, but we worked a very fair deal with them. Recently, Frank let us look at an event before it started to get a feel of what would be happening on our wedding date. Everything looked pretty good.

We look forward to our wedding on May of 2010 and will keep you updated on how our experience with TOP goes. One last piece of advice, make sure that everything you??re offered is written on your contract before you sign it. I have give TOP 5 out of 5 based on my experience with up to this point.

I was trying to get information about the place because I was really excited about having my wedding in this place. But when I called for information the manager who I spoke to was really rude. He gave me no information at all and treated me as if i couldn't offer this place which for me the money wasn't even an issue. I just wanted to know the about the services provided for a wedding. This really pissed me off and after reading the comments, this place really considers themselves better then others which makes me find this place disgusting.

The best choice I made was having my wedding at Terrace on the Park. Our banquet manager, Frank Pacheco, was exceptional in every aspect, from helping us plan our reception to the actual night of our wedding. We were given so many options to choose from and with having a wedding of 250-300 people, it can be overwhelming when trying to please everyone. But both managers, Frank and Mark, helped us wonderfully. The night of our reception was extraordinary. We had a full cocktail hour and our family and friends informed us that the food was delicious and plentiful. With about 250 people everyone was taken care of. Once we got into our reception the food never stopped. From the beginning to the end we were waited on hand and foot. We never even had to ask for anything, it was brought to us even before we could ask. Frank Pacheco did a wonderful job in overseeing everything. And the view....what a view...breathtaking!! Once we returned from our very long honeymoon, our family and friends informed us of the great time they had. They told us that they were very pleased with the food, service and entertainment. Our wedding was last years most memorable event for us and our family and friends. I owe it to Terrace on the Park for making that happen. With spending about $100 a person at 250 attending, it was well worth the money. I would highly recommend Terrace on the Park to others.

We had our wedding on December 27, 2008. Upon coming back from our honeymoon and talking to family members, we learned that despite the great time that was had by almost all of our guests, we probably had the least amount of food at our wedding than any we have attended (at least 7 in the past 3 years) ?? How mortifying!

Mark, one of the banquet managers explained to us that we would ??get it all" but what we left understanding and what we actually got was two different things, especially at cocktail hour. We thought, as with most halls, you get some stand alone tables with varieties of food along with butler service. Instead, we had butler service which was disappointing, but would have been okay if they had more than two servers for over 180 people. We found out after our honeymoon (since we left the next day after the wedding) that many people were starving and that is why our attendants promptly ushered us upstairs a little before 8pm to begin our entrance. There were not enough servers (only two our guest can attest to) and therefore, the food only went to a select group closest to the kitchen door. As the bride and groom, you have no idea what is going on upstairs, especially because they are taking care of you (of course) but they did such a poor job at taking care of our guests and being accommodating throughout the evening. It is not your guests' job to complain about staff that has ignored them, were rude, or for there not being enough food. Even during dinner, there was only a salad, the meal (no appetizer) and a piece of cake. Afterwards, when we spoke to the manager, he said someone should have told him the guests were hungry. The manager was present and a Maitre' De to ensure things went right, it was their job to gauge the situation, this shouldn't have happened.

My husband and I are big on food and I always look forward to a cocktail hour (that??s usually the best part). We never asked Mark to skimp on food or tried to get the price down by cutting out extras. We are both educated and should have realized that the contract was somewhat ambiguous; unfortunately our previous wedding experiences and the charisma of the manager had us too trusting and comfortable in their capability. For us to walk away thinking we are getting one thing and get only butler served hors d' oeuvres is mind boggling. At $122 per plate, talking to him, and going to weddings that were much cheaper, we feel we have been taken for a ride.
RECAP
1)No stations during cocktail hour (or the basics you will receive at any other LI hall -see, Floral Terrace, Jericho Terrace, etc.).
2)Don't go by what Terrace??s website says! You would assume you get many of the things listed there because they should say optional, but it doesn??t.
3) Non-attentive staff (would not maneuver around tables that were too cramped ?? for instance, plopping down two rolls and not placing the rest on other side of table ?? brought out bottle of salad dressing and squirted a salad that was called dry by a guest).
4) Not accommodating any take home requests (my dad with kidney trouble asked to take his meal and was denied ?? you pay for it, why not?)
5)No water at tables. Hard to get wait staff to bring them.

We ended up having a great wedding regardless mostly due to our FANTASTIC DJ Elegancia (it was one great party) but we are embarrassed in knowing how our guest were treated that evening.

The views at Terrace on the Park are not worth poor service and the high price. Any questions email me at TSmith9044@yahoo.com.

Stay Clear of Terrace on the Park. The wedding we attended there was a lot fun. The view was great & thats where the WOW factor ended. Our friend paid $120 per person & had to pay the tip for everyone in advance to the banquet manager. The banquet manager not only did not work the night of the party but stole all of the tip money. The cocktail hour consisted of prepackage frozen Costco appetizers such as pig in the Blanket, empanadas & chicken on a stick. The main course was a buffet which we had to serve ourselves with no one there to help or to check up on how it was going. I eat almost anything including truck stop food, chucky cheese, golden coral & enjoy it. This food was so bad I refused to eat it along with every single person at our table. Desserts were soggy Costco desserts that were so old they were soggy & gross.

Most of the bar is stocked with top shelf liquor but watch what they pour. I asked for a strong cosmo for my wife, they used the lowest grade liquor & it was 80% cranberry juice. The entire night they used only the low grade stuff. I drank a lot of water that night & every glass (8) I had to beg for it while the 2 waiter/bus boys for our area hid in the darkened cocktail area goofing off. To leave a carafe of water was not only unheard of but the one time I asked the bar tender for water, she got the goof offs. They came out & only poured water for the 20 year old girls at the tables & ignored all of the empty glasses sitting in front of everyone else. The grand finally was I watched one of the workers steal the flowers at the table next to us then a girl in the wedding party caught her & had to chase here down before she hid them. conclusion: It was the most expensive, worst food, worst service, most watered down drinks & sleaziest wedding places I have been to.

My wedding was this past Septemeber and I am so disappointed with Terrace on the Park. The food was ok but the service was terrible. We had 310 guests and I was assured by the event planner that it wouldn't be a problem but the night of the wedding my guests were forgotten about and mistreated by the staff. I would never recommend Terrace on the Park for any affair. I wrote a long letter to the event planner weeks after the event and he never responded to me. The worst part was that we were highly recommended by inlaws since my brother in laws wedding 5 years ago there went really well. I guest they chnaged owners or lost their touch. We paid way too much money to be this unhappy!!

Well, what can I say? I had my wedding there because of it's close proximity to the city and the view. The food was great and parking is no problem, as it has a huge parking lot. The event planner, Mark, was great as well...up until the night of the actual wedding. After 3 additional guests showed up to the wedding, the event planner that night told my husband that we needed to pay $360 up front for them. My husband reassured him that we would pay for it the next a.m. or even at the end of the evening. But he was not pleased and proceeded to stare at my husband for the next half hour until my husband just went over to him and paid him. Keep in mind, we had paid then $15k and not to mention the "obligatory" tip before the event! They had all of our information (address, phone #, etc) and my husband and I are both professionals. I cannot believe they did that to us at our wedding! We were both annoyed and in disbelief... not something anyone would want to feel during their special day. When I the next morning, I was screamed at as they were very defensive and not to mention that a gift that was left behind our table was gone and no one from Terrace found it. I also went personally to find out more about my gift and the 2 bouquets of flowers I left behind. I saw them in the lobby but proceeded to ask the receptionist if she can call and find out if 2 bouquets of flowers were found form my party and the answer was no! I then told her that they were on the mantel and then took them home....ugh! I

My college held an award ceremony here. Once you take the elevator ride up you get a bird's eye view of Flushing Meadows park. The set up for the ceremony was well organized. Staff were helpful and service was fast. There was plenty of room for over 250 people. The only complaint that I had was that you have to wait a long time for the elevator. otherwise this place is great for all occasions.

Anyone planning an event such as a wedding or a bar/bat mitzvah wants the best place they can find to hold it. If they select Terrace on the Park, located in Flushing, Queens they have found it.

Terrance on the Park is the consummate professional caterer, putting on affairs superior to all but a handful of other top notch places. The only words to describe their affairs, their service, and organization is stupendous.

Their service is top notch, their food is marvelous, their staff professional, helpful and attentive. The view from their penthouse area, which is their top rooms for an event, is totally spectacular, affording a view from high up, seeing Queens, the old world's fair site, much of the area, and this is breathtaking.

The food at Terrace on the Park is plentiful, delicious, with a huge variety to choose from. They have varied menus, including things like the old fashioned hot dog and hamburger carts for kid, a viennese table superior to any I ever sampled, beautifully arranged tables, decorations, and everything top of the line. Their party managers, who work with a client from start to finish are the consummate professionals, and any affair held there is spectacular. I had an affair held there some years ago, in fact I had two of them, and people were praising it for a long time to come.

They also do have various price ranges, although their pricing tiers are not inexpensive by any means, but if you want a top notch site and a top notch affair, they are one of the best!

PROS: A party put on in style and class.
CONS: Prices may be higher than some can afford

Pros: Day of service staff makes it feel special

Cons: Sales staff should be used car salesmen.

We had our wedding at Terrace on the Park mid- May.
The level of service an cooperation we received upfront was terrific. The banquet manager was very flexible and the hall had a great selection for any budget. We were originally booked for 200 guests but ended up with a party of 350, and the hall had a way to accomodate our large party despite of capacity in the room (only drawback- you have to pay full price for kids under 3).
The day of the wedding: upon our arrival, my husband and I were greeted by our hosts, Renita and James. They were our go to people in case of problems. Both were very pleasant and accomodating. They showed us to our suite, got us food and drinks, and escorted us around the cocktail room and reception room prior to the guest's arrival.
During the cocktail hour, the food selection was very abundant, and everyone enjoyed the food- our only complaint was that we requested a no pork menu, and some of the servers were not educated on the food they were serving, as a result, they were not able to tell our guests that the dishes were all pork free.
Everything was smooth sailing from there on but the dessert hour. First of all, one of the "perks" of booking your wedding at this venue was your choice of cake for free- not true. My husband and I picked a very simple ivory cake with three large sugar flowers on top. When we arrived at the bakery for our tasting and consultation, we were notified that sugar flowers were not included in the package, and we had to dish out an extra $250 for the few flowers- which would have been bearable had the cake actually looked like what we wanted it to look like. The color scheme on the cake was not as selected, the flowers looked very amateurly done, and the cake didn't look remotely close to what we asked for. In addtion, it was lumpsided, and cracked on one side halfway through our reception- however, that's not really the hall to blame but the bakery they contract with.
After the cake cutting, we aksed our hosts for the timing of the venecian table- and we were informed that there will be none- we were informed that we paid for dessert on each table not a separate table with sweets and desserts- that was apparently extra per person- but we were promised a chocolate fountain and a crape station when booking, so we had to argue our way to a dessert table- which was eventually set up for us at no extra cost.
All in all, with the small glitch during dessert hour, the hall did a terrific job at catering to our special day. I've attended a large number of weddings within the last few years, and I can unbiastly say that the food and service was superior.
