I went to the restaurant to celebrate a friend birthday party and they were not helpful at all. I know that it is hard to get a table when you have a party of 5 or more people but no accommodation at all. The hostess did not help at all.

Really good burritos and righteous frozen margaritas. I have been coming here for over 15 years now, and it is still really good--even if it is a little healthier than it was back in the day.

My friends and I frequent Benny's sometimes for a quick drink before we start the night and other times for a fun, inexpensive dinner. The margaritas can't be beat at $3 each, the salsa for the complementary chips and salsa is delicious, and the food is very filling. The service is superb for such a low key spot; everyone is extremely friendly, fun, and fast! I would (and do) recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick bite to eat.

But, due to the cramped spacing I would not recommend coming with a party larger than 5. And be aware the wait on the weekend nights can be a bit long. But worth it if you can squeeze in to wait by the bar!

Benny's on the west side used to be my favorite place to grab a margarita and a salad topped quesadilla with the girls. They recently went through an health overhaul. Including baked chips and fewer greasy items on the menu. Which, though is better for the waist line, is not as much fun! The service is great as are the drinks. It can get pretty packed so be prepared to wait for a table.

I have always been a fan of Bennys'. I mean $3 Margarita - who can beat that?! I actually got a chance to go for Halloween and had an amazing time! Whoever decorated did a great job and it was just what you needed to get the party started. They have this new salsa - roasted corn----YUMMY! I think I'll check 3rd ave next!!!

I've never been a margarita fan, but I'm a fiend for a good mojito. I was pleased to see it on the menu. However, it's very unfortunate that Benny's failed miserably in their mojito offering. When i ordered, the bartender told me they were out of mint but she'd see if she could grab some. Now, i've always been of the school of thought that in order to offer menu item a restaurant should A. have ingredients on hand to make it, and B. know how to make it.
I'm appreciative that the bartender ran out for fresh mint but, taking my first sip, it was apparent that having ingredients on hand was not the only issue they had with their menu. For those who don't know, a mojito should be prepared with: white rum, soda, and simple syrup poured over a generous helping of fresh mint muddled with3 or 4 slices of lime and a dash of sour to finish. What i got at benny's was a lime juice and rum cocktail with a couple shreds of mint floating around.
I'm a brutal critic but I do try to make the best of a bad meal or drink before giving up. So i asked the bartender if she could add more simple syrup and sadly I had to explain to her what it was as in her obliviousness to its existence she had failed to add it in the first place. Again what was put in front of me was pitiful, instead of simple syrup I received a couple of sugar packets dissolved into a rocks glass of hot water. In the end I slid my drink back her way explaining that it just didn't work out and asked for a budweiser instead.
So far I've only criticized their preparation and neglected to mention service as service was neglectful in and of itself. While I was choking down my citrus satire of a mojito and trying to get the bartender's attention, she was busy chatting with her two trashed friends about after work plans. I could care less if you've got friends at work but the least you can do is fake paying attention to the two dissatisfied customers dropping 80$ on food sitting 3 feet away from you.

I moved away from the city to the west coast, where Mexican rules... but, I miss my vegan burrito with that yummy non-dairy sour cream! I always ran into friends there and had a relaxed, yummy time. Miss you, Benny!

I wouldn't necessarily call it CHEAP, maybe a little under average, but it's still great. The food is excellent, the margaritas are great and the location and atmosphere are perfect. Right in the heart of greenwich village, this place is the perfect place to go with friends before going out.

This place had a very laid-back atmosphere, with big portions of food. The drinks were awesome also ($3). Our server was a bit crazy. She got upset at us for tipping her only 15% (the service was average). That certainly ruined our overall experience. What if she spits in our food the next time I go there...ha ha

I unfortunately live right around the corner from Benny's - It simply can not be healthy in the long run! I am married to a vegetarian that is very picky about her food, and even she can not get enough of this place! I have only tried the burritos on the menu - I simply can not imagine anything better, so why try! The burritos are more than enough in size, the taste is top class and if you "super" it with all the smotherings, you will hear the angels sing! I can not imagine a better burito and for the price, it's a steal! Go Benny, GO!

They have some of the best and tastiest drink specials in the city. Their Black Flower is my all-time favorite - 1/2 frozen marg and 1/2 sangria! Yum, and ONLY $3.50! They also have mojitos for $3.50 and their other specialty margaritas are $4.50, so you can have some really good drinks for very little. Their food is good, not fabulous, portions are very generous and after a few of their drinks you really don't care! It's a fun place with great staff and great service. One of my favorite hang outs with friends!

My husband took me there for a quick dinner and I simply loved it! The food was delicious and the service was great. They were very accomodating when my husband showed dislike for the chicken and wanted shredded beef instead. The owner himself changed it for him. Highly recommend.

I had dinner at this dive this past winter with a date and one of the waiters spilled a cocktail on my fir-trimmed coat. After politely notifying the watier (who was very polite) a manager came over and started implying that I was trying to get a free dry-cleaning comp out of the place. The mediocre meal that followed was topped off with dirty looks from the bar staff. The place was dirty and smelled strongly of booze. I would sooner take a date to taco bell.

Used to be a fave of ours on a post-work Friday night. The food's delicious, the service is always stellar and the scene is crowded and noisy, but we wouldn't have it any other way. Don't get over there as often as we'd like nowadays, but when we do, it's always tons of fun.

I liked that it wasn't crowded on a late Saturday afternoon around 4 PM. The margaritas came pretty quickly though the server did not take our order all that quickly. Guess he was giving us our space since it was pretty empty there. I was pleasantly surprised that there were soy substitutes for the cheese and topping for the vegetarian/vegan. Nice location and thought it was easy to get in and out. Not much a place to cruise the passerbys LOL.

I have been to this restaurant at least a million times, without exaggeration. My favorite, the Good Burrito which is, well, good. The food has the magical property to induce a comfortable torpor which is most appreciated in the wintertime. It's a fun place. Go there with your friends. Don't take your date there, unless you're really really desperate.

It takes them upwards of an hour and a half to bring an order 4 blocks. Calling to ask the whereabouts gets you nowhere. Naturally, the food can no longer be described as warm by the time you get it.

Call it cultural imperialism, call it good - it doesn't really matter - just don't call it a burrito. This place belongs in a mall food court alongside its funk-faking brethren. If you want an Extreme TexMex Wrap, visit Benny's. If you want a burrito, hit Los Dos Rancheros in Hell's Kitchen.

I'm not a big fan of burritos, but Benny's has more to offer. Great salads served in a blindingly-bright red torilla shell and heaped with guac; delicious (and surprisingly ungreasy) quesadillas; and not a bad chili. Service is friendly, helpful and fast and lunch specials are truly a bargain.
