Truly delicious Middle Eastern fare, starting with lentil soup that always hits the spot. The pita bread is made to order, and arrives piping hot. The falafels taste crispy, but not greasy, and the salads all have just the right touch of dressing on them. The pitzas (Middle Eastern pizzas) are chock-full of fresh veggies and meats. You leave feeling happy, full and with change in your pocket.

Many people in the Boerum Hill / Brooklyn Heights neighborhood swear by Bedouin Tent, but Fatoosh a few blocks away is my favorite middle-eastern in the area. The falafel is spicy, crunchy on the outside and chewy in the middle, and unlike any falafel you've ever tasted elsewhere. I'm also a big fan of their ground red pepper paste and the mujaddara salad. Try it once and you'll be a believer!

Pros: fast delivery, food is always great and affordable

Cons: although there's seating, this is really more of a take-out place

A lot of people in Boerum / Heights swear by Bedouin Tent but are unaware of this precious gem just a few blocks from the river. Amazing spicy falafel, delicious ground red pepper paste, and a variety of salads (I like mujadarra best). Great value. Try it once and you'll be a believer.

Pros: most original falafel you'll ever taste

Cons: take-out joint, ambiance is lacking

Casual and cozy, Fatoosh offers some of Brooklyn's best falafel, always wrapped burrito-style in fresh, warm pita bread. The tiny dining area doesn't feel cramped, perhaps because the floor-to-ceiling windows offer views of the pretty and…
