Our Lady Of Mercy Med Ctr

My maternity experience at the maternity ward in Our Lady of Mercy Hospital was Wonderful.It was my first child and the staff made me feel welcomed and let me know constantly that things would be fine and that they were there for me in whatever i may need.the way they cared for me made it a lot easier to deal with everything i had to deal with at that time.My daughter is now 10yrs old.here i am 10yrs later still remember how good the staff was to me. I want to say Thank you to those who took care of me and my baby on May 2nd through the May 5th of 1998. Keep doing what you do,it does make a difference.

they do not abide by the patients bill of rights, very sneaky becareful of what you sign as far as your privacy and tests. I would not recommend this hospital to no one. This hospital has lost it's touch. A lot of the directors are unprofessional, rude, and caddy. I would NOT recommend this hospital to anyone

I would not recommend this hospital to no one. No matter how many times people may say Our Lady of Mercy is good. I almost lost my life. I brought with me to the hospital my outside documentation of me having gallstones embedded within my bile ducts and I went to Our lady I sat there for 10 hours with no assistance. I could have died. I left and went to another hospital where I had emergency surgery the next day.

This hospital has lost it's touch. I will prasie the hospital for helping my son when he got a burn. They tend to the children better than they do the adults. Our lady is not full of Mercy. That are full of pain and as I see it they can't handle the caseloads that are presented to them each day.

I highly recommend this hospital to anyone seeking good medical care. My father was admitted to the geriatric unit. The nurses and doctors were highly professional and know what they are doing. The nurses are truly caring, and answers my questions. My father was discharged from the geriatric floor and has been in pretty good shape.

If it were not for the doctors at Our Lady Of Mercy Hospital, my mom would not be here today. The ER doctors did what they had to do quickly to try to stabilize my mom who was bleeding internally & uncontrollably. Her personal physicians were immediately contacted. (Dr. Balsano, and Dr. Hertan) Both doctors arrived at the hospital at ungodly hours - Dr. Balsano to check on her condition and status and Dr. Hertan to do a procedure at 2:00 AM which stopped the bleeding and saved her life. This has happened in three separate instances and the care improves each time because now the ER doctors and nurses are familiar with her history! They are SUBERB! I would recommend this hospital highly. Unfortunately, I did not have the insight to bring my dad to the same hospital by car since the ambulance could not take him there. (out of area) Therefore, my dad was not as fortunate and lost his life. There was no comparison between the hospital where my dad was brought in lower Westchester and Our Lady of Mercy.

I was an employee and came in with chest pains....sure they brought me into the back of the emergency room quickly but it took about 7 hours for the doctor to come see me and release me. You would think it was busy? No it wasnt at all...the staff was just sitting around having a great time. I brought my girlfriend in as well another time and the nurse didnt know how to take her blood and failed 5 times, hurting her the last time and refusing to try anymore. She didnt have one ounce of compassion or regret. My girlfriend stood 5 hours in pain crying, yet the staff seemed annoyed when I kept advising them that the pain medication was not affecting her because they had the IV wrong. My girlfriend walked out.
A lot of the directors are unprofessional, rude, and caddy. I would NOT recommend this hospital to anyone except maternity patients who always seem to think they are treated well.

Our Lady of Mercy, formerly Misercordia (not sure of spelling), is a pretty good hospital. It's relatively small, but those who are treated are given adequate care. However, it can be quite busy and sometimes it seems as if there aren't enough nurses to response to patient's request. However, the staff is good and they know what they're doing. Over the years, they have taken care of my grandmother and my aunt who never expressed any complaints.
