The Scene
Sandwiched between Central Park and the clamor of Midtown, this reasonably priced lodging is a bargain. Its location allows visitors to spend the day pounding the Fifth Avenue pavement or viewing art at the nearby Museum of Modern Art without straying too far from their beds. Built in 1942, the building was originally a private apartment complex before becoming a hotel. In fact, some permanent residents still reside in the building.

The Details
There's nothing extravagant about this place. It offers reliable rooms with basic services, which is exactly what its clientele wants. The corners are clean. The beds are comfortable. And the courteous and professional staff will gladly make dining recommendations for the area's many restaurants.

Ratings_icons Who spends all day in their room anyway?

Before going I was a little worried due to the price, but this hotel was great. The rooms were small, and there are no "extras", but the room and bathroom were very clean. It's SUPER cheap, front desk is nice and you can walk to Central Park, Times Square, and 5th Ave. I would recommend this to anyone on a budget. Spend the money you save on a nice dinner or a show.

Pros: Clean, Close to lots, cheap

Cons: small rooms, no coffee in room

The place is clean, the daily maid service is great, it's 10 min walking distance to Times Square yet far enough away to get a good night's sleep, close to one of the most train-accessible subway stops. Tiny rooms, though. If you can tolerate tiny rooms, this is a great value...save your money here, then use that saved money to splurge on NYC dining or entertainment!

Pros: Clean sheets, rooms, 24-hour lobby, Great maid service

Cons: , Tiny bathroom, No hair dryer

I will definitely stay here on my next trip! It's not 4 star but if you are on a budget and want a friendly, clean place in a great location, this is excellent!

Pros: Location, Price, Clean

Cons: SHOWER!, Elevator

Ratings_icons Great Hotel

Rooms were bigger than expected. Nice huge bathroom huge closest and huge bed room. Elevator and Hotel very small but they do have stairs. Front desk wasn't too friendly, but when I need maintenance or towels they were there quick. Nice hotel to stay and to save money. Great Location. I felt safe. Only thing that was bad about our room was that when you took a shower it kept getting really cold then really hot, but I could deal with it again for the price.

Pros: Great Price, Safe environment, Huge Rooms

Cons: Shower terrible, Small elevator

Ratings_icons A Steal

KFMoreau_Citysearch

I've used this hotel when visiting NYC and I love it! The rooms are a bit small, the staff can be a bit distant, but it's close to a lot of things, most notably Central Park, and the rates are awesome. Of course, in terms of room size, you get what you pay for, but when you factor in the locale, it's a steal.

Pros: Very Cheap, Convenient Location

Cons: Small Rooms
