This museum has a nice colletion of artifacts from india, japan, korea, china, and indonesia. The nice part of this place is that it doesn't focus on just mainland china like most museums do. The museum shop has decent prices and a wide variety of goods. In the summer there is free admission on Friday afternoons

PROS: Asian culture, free admission in the summer on friday afternoon
CONS: none

This museum has some wonderful paintings by Asian artists dating centuries and centuries back, but the true reason why I've been here a few times is for the ambiance of its Garden Court Cafe. It's beautifully decorated with blooming vines and green trees, and is sky-lit and enclosed in glass. It's truly a romantic experience, and a great place to go on a date!

The Asia Society and Museum is a world class place dedicated to preserving Asian art and culture. The exhibitions change constantly so check there web site for what is upcoming. Admission runs about $10 the same as a movie. I guess its up to you to decide what's a better way to spend a few hours, watching a new fick or immersing yourself in an ancient culture that is still producing vital works even today.

The Asia Society and Museum is a fascinating place. In a new modernistic building sits an amazing collection of art from Asia. The constantly change exhibitions so there is always something new and exciting to see. The gift shop has a great assortment of books and some replica art and you can find books here that you wouldn't normally see. The price to get in to see all this is fair, $10 for adults, $5 students and free for the under 16 set.

PROS: Tremendous collection of art
CONS: None

Don't let the unassuming name keep you away from The Asia Society. With a new building and state of the art technology, a visit to The Asia Society is sure to please even the most jaded museum-goer. They display contemporary pieces from both South, Central, and East Asia. We were surprised and intrigued by the interactive and eye-catching exhibits (e.g., turn the handlebars on the rickshaw to view 5 different video clips on the Indian city of Bandaras). Best of all, the museum offers free admission on Friday nights and an audio tour is included in the admission price.
