Make sure to bee in your heels and flirt with Clark. You are going to have a great night! I had never been and went for a friends birthday... i danced so much my legs were sore the next day! The music was great, and everyone seemed to be partying it up.

A friend had her wedding afterparty at this venue this past weekend, and it was a much shorter night than expected. We didn't have any issues with the bouncers like many of the others here, but perhaps that was because we were on the list for the party.

We got there around midnight on Saturday and it wasn't too crowded. The space, though small, was decorated pretty well.

I got to the bar and ordered a few beers ($8 each) and paid in cash, remembering to tip the bartender. That's pretty much where all the positives of the night ended.

The newlyweds came by so I ordered a round of Goose shots (straight, unchilled) with a couple of OJ backs. For this one, I decided to pay with my credit card.

BIG MISTAKE. The shots themselves were $15. Although a bit pricey, I was ok with that. I completely understand that you pay more for shots at nicer places. However, she also charged me $6 EACH for the two orange juice backs. I thought it may have just been a mistake so I asked politely, "Do you usually charge for juice backs?" She replies "Uh... Always", and turns away as if it was the most ridiculous thing she had heard.

Then, as I go to sign my credit card slip, I notice that 20% gratuity was added. WHAT??? It wasn't as if I wasn't tipping previously, so I imagine it's just their ridiculous policy to grat all credit card payments. I looked around to see if such a policy was posted anywhere, but it was not.

I put a nice line through "Additional Tip" and returned the slip. I was tempted to be a smart ass and ask her for a Goose and OJ, with the OJ on the side, but if she was going to grat me 20% for simply pouring out shots, who knew how much it would be for actually having to make something.

Needless to say, I am never going back.
I recommend anybody else reading this do the same.

I went hopping around to all the "BEST" clubs and they were terrible! Not really that busy and ultimately had no vibe! I mean I know that the economy has had most of us really tightening our belts and making us weekend warriors, but come on!
Reluctant to continue on, but persuaded my friends, my last stop on the trainwreck of a night was Citrine. I couldn't believe my eyes, so this is where all the people go. The doorman was sweet as pie, the DJ was insane!!!! People were dancing everywhere they could find space, which wasn't easy in such a packed club! The drinks were great, which were served to me by a hottie of a bartender! I had the best time, I stayed until 4 am! I will certainly make it my only stop next time.

incredibly disgusted by the rudeness of a doorman who goes by "Clark" (I've been told his name is Ross in actuality). Save your money and your dignity and go somewhere else, where you won't have to deal with men with napoleon complexes living out their fantasies as doormen.

We had a GREAT time at Citrine last weekend. Had some friends from out of town we got a table at Citrine and were treated like royalty. Danced all night, this place is so much fun and the staff treats you like gold. You don't have to spend millions of dollars also!

You could throw a similar party in your garage, no joke! Besides the awesome DJ that was playing sick music all night this place has nothing to offer, from $15 watered down house vodka drinks to the rude bar tenders this place has nothing to offer. It literally looks like a big garage, looking at the pictures online I was expecting a meat packing type of club/louge only to find out this place is freakin awful, there is no where to really move or go... dancing is pretty much impossible. the only cool thing is that the copied european like clubs by bringing you the bottle with a fire cracker flame like thing. I would not waste any of time there. i should have known that a club next to Porkys would be awful

I went to Snitch for New Years. It was so much fun. They have great drink specials. The music was a ton of fun, including all the good Rock songs from the 80's. The bartenders were knowledgable and friendly. The space was not too big and not too small. There are tables to sit at but certain nights of the week there is a drink minimum to sit there. If you like rock this is a great place to go.

There?s nothing rock n roll about trendy mini clubs opening all over the place, requiring bottle service and making people wait on lines while the bar is empty. The idea behind Snitch was cool, but when you have douchebagz running it like some trendy club for old people and tourists buying bottles, it loses its appeal.

We have been going to snitch throughout the years..I admit I always liked it but it started to decline..in the past few months we have been going a bit more often..to see friends bands, etc. The place has been sick. we went on a Tuesday and the whole band Avenged Sevenfold was there apparently celebrating the singers bday. we were told to check out Monday. It was the best rock party I have ever been to.Without a doubt!! The bands were amazing and the place was filled with hot, hot, hot women and rocker types alike. If you want a real NYC rock experience..this is the place. SNITCH YOU GUYS ARE THE SH*T!!!

I don't even know where to begin there are so many problems! Had my bday gathering with about 20 friends. All of us are thirty something, easy going, trendy, down to earth people. We were expecting a trendy upscale rock bar. What we found was a frat house run by a bunch of kids who could really care less about their jobs rather than getting drunk along with the patrons.

There were all 18 year olds in there (isn't this a bar??????). The staff was nothing less than RUDE, obnoxious, and absolutely horrid to the patrons. I even saw an employee pick a fight in the ladies room ... And she DID PICK THE FIGHT for no reason!!! Where was the security??? Downstairs collected side cash to let in the 18 year olds that's where. Some guy (another patron) had to go in the ladies room and break it up. I guess she was cranky (like a child throwing a tantrum!!!).

I find it hard to believe that ANY celebrity would have their name and reputation tied into such a dive like this place. My friends and I spent alot of money in there and didn't even get so much as a single buy back or a replied "good night" when we left.

Absolutely disgusting, horrible experience. Even if the music was great I wouldn't be caught dead in this place. SO not worth it!!

WHat the heck happened to this place? It used to be a really cool, fun place to hear great rock DJs like Matt Pinfield & DJ Strip. I dont know who they have DJing now but they are definitely not rock DJs at all! And the quality of bands that play there now has definitely gone down hill big time! And whats with all the ciggarette smoke! 420 would be alot nicer! This place is over big time!

This place was super-packed, grimy, had not-so-great music, dumb bartenders, and a scary bathroom attendant. It was fun at first, we didn't have to pay the cover, and luckily had seats, but things went downhill after that. When we finally got the bartender's attention, she messed up our change and had a hard time grasping her mathematical error. After that, in the bathroom, my friend put a buck in the woman's basket and grabbed a lollipop and I grabbed a life-saver (was going to tip her on my next trip). So the crazy attendant blocks the door and demands that we both tip. She was cracked out and scary, so I ended up paying a dollar just to get out. Most ridiculous situation ever! Shortly after that we were booted from our seats for people that bought bottle service, so we left and never even saw the band we actually went to see. Won't be going back.

First of all Snitch is and never has been "owned" by Velvet Revolver or Fuel. A promoter named Mike Diamond who worked there in the very begining "04 brought them in and they pulled out in 6 months when they realized that the place was being run by a bunch of dopes on dope, Mike Diamond would soon leave as well . It is now owned by a bunch of trust fund wannabees from New Jersey and a few C-list promoters. They let people smoke there and do other illegal activities as well. The only good thing about the place now is the soundman/DJ Strip who manages the place and reconfigured the sound and stage so bands like mine would actually want to play there. Other than that its overpriced door charge and drinks are enough of a reason to stay clear of this fake rock club. Oh yeah and the employees write fake positive reviews on this site so dont be fooled.

We went to Snitch and it was really amazing. Crowd was really cool very downtown and the early bands were rocking it out. Went back on the weekend and was fun but definitely recommend thursday nights not as packed, the crowd is super hot and the dj kills it. If you like viper room in la or rock bar in miami you will prob like it here. The bar gets crowded but if you ask the waitress and hang by the tables you can get all the drinks you need quickly. Def will be back for more of snitch!

I will admit, I used to be a big supporter of Snitch--I preferred it over places like Revolver, etc. The last two times I've been there it was a complete disgrace. First, my friends and I got a table, and were shoved all the way in the back corner. The table was covered in other people's empty beer bottles, wet napkins, spilled drinks and other slop, and was not cleaned up before they brought our own bottles (which took about a half hour after being seated). The place was packed with what appeared to be 18-21 year olds, falling all over themselves like idiots and firing up bowls in plain view... As I was walking out, about 6 cops stormed the place. More importantly, the comment below was also dead-on...there were fat girls dancing on poles everywhere. Please, leave that to the privacy of your own living room. Not to be insensitive, but have some respect. I know you were just having a good time, but until you got up there and started swinging around in your black, vertically striped dress (you know who you are, and you're fooling no one with those fashion illusions), so was I. The place has turned into a complete, smoke-filled bar for d-bags that just graduated from Syracuse and "Wisco". It's just awful.

The place has turned into a complete, smoke-filled bar for d-bags that just graduated from Syracuse and "Wisco". It's just awful.

.

when this place opened a couple years back, it was such a good time. you could always count on snitch to be your go-to late night spot. the music was on point, and the crowd was attractive and energetic. unfortunately, this place has gone the way of the striped shirt and, after stopping by there saturday night,i hereby declare snitch dead to me. between the piglets swinging from the stripper poles and the douchebags fist pumping to fall out boy, this place was geek overload. before saturday, i didn't even know it was possible to want to collectively fight an entire bar, but i was proven wrong. watching a bunch of socially awkward, tweed sport coat-toting, michigan grads mouth (badly) the words to "pour some sugar on me" is not my idea of a good time. and neither is sitting next to a table full of agressively drunk nerds and nerdettes, with their newly purchased urban outfitters faux-vintage "rolling stones '71 world tour" shirts. seriously, do us all a favor and stick to vig 27. at least we can contain all of you in one room that way.
anyhow, they might as well pick snitch up and move it directly next to joshua tree in murray hill. this place is DONE. R.I.P.

I would like to review this club as a musician who has played there 3 times now. I have never really gone to Snitch as a customer but I think it is important for Snitch's customers to know how they run buisness over there. Also, if anything, this review could serve as a warning for bands that are thinking of playing there. The first time we played there we loaded in our stuff and 5 employees ignored as we loaded in equipment. We set up to play for our 10 PM set. We waited an hour for our soundman who showed up at 10:40 PM...we had been there for almost two hours as was requested by the booking agent. The second time we played there, they had only one monitor which did not work. The soundman took no sound levels before the set and refused to adjust our onstage sound...we could not hear each other at all. Before us that night, a touring band played. They were really nice guys but had noone there to see them. I went outside for a smoke and the bouncer gave me alot of trouble about getting back in because he said they were "not open yet". I questioned the manager about this and he assured me that I was wrong and that people were being let in. Basically this poor band played for noone because the hungover, burntout staff was too lazy to have the bar ready for buisness in time so they didn't let customers in. Last night 1/24/07, we played what I hope is our last show. This time, no monitors at all. We got there at 8 PM for our 9 PM show to load in. The staff said there was a "meeting" and didn't let us in to unload gear! My band was waiting outside in the cold with equipment when I got there. I had to grab equipment and force my way up the stairs to drop off equipment, being shooed back out each time I went in. We were not allowed in till 9:20 PM and did not play until about 10 PM. This place is falling apart and is completely mismanaged. If you like it as a customer, thats fine, but when a place charges $4 for a seltzer water, thats a bad start.

Pros: cool layout

Cons: over priced, treats musicians very badly

I love Snitch, Ive been there twice and both times we reserved a table and got bottle service. I wouldn't go to the bar unless I had somewhere to sit. The bottles are NOT expensive compared to any other bottle service at NYC bars. The music is great, its the type that when it randomly comes on when your in the car, your like "oh my god i LOVE this song". Gets a bit crowded, call for reservations and when you get there you are in for free and they will make who ever is sitting in your booth get up, if you love dirty looks, get there around 11:30-12 when people think they've scored a booth without reservations until you show up!!! You can smoke in there without getting in trouble and dance on the booths all night long!!!!!

First off, this was my first time hitting up a club in NYC for New Year's. I'm from New Mexico and we're way more "lower class" (my original word was "g*etto) than y'all New York folks.. We had a good time cause we made it happen. Anyway, I have no idea what bar the reviewer below me was attending. I'll tell you right now, Snitch for New Year's was AWESOME! But, I have to be honest. Anyone who bought the "VIP" tickets is retarded. The true VIP was where we set up, right along the bar. The food was decent and there was more than enough for everyone to have a snack.. I mean come on, did people actually come here for dinner? The drinks were fantastic.. Patron was included in the open bar.. Usually Patron is top shelf, so I definitely recommend going when there is an open bar. My only advice?? TIP! Everyone there would just order a drink and walk off.. Then they wondered why they weren't getting drinks!

The asian bartender was awesome. We tipped her well, and all it took was four fingers in the air and she was pouring four more OJ and Patrons for us. She was so awesome, every once in a while we'd turn around and she'd give us shots, just to thank us for tipping.

The whole place was kinda small, but the bar took up a lot of the room, so that was a plus. The men's restrooms were well maintained, and I have a hard time believing the women's were any different. Even the bouncers were nice. When I got in a fight, no one put a hand on me, they asked me very nicely to leave. (Your experience may vary if you're not 6'3 280). I left without grabbing my coat, and guess what? TWO WEEKS later, they still have it! The staff at Snitch has been nothing short of phenomenal.

Bottom line.. Snitch for New Year's Eve was GREAT. I'll be there again next year.

I wouldn't waste the time or the money to ever go there again... We spent a lot of money to get VIP tickets for New Year's Eve... we may as well paid general admission price because they got treated the same as all of the VIP guests. We paid for 4 reserved seats... we got a space about 2 foot long to fit 4 people in on a booth type seat... there was supposed to be a buffet from 9p to 12a... the food ran out at 10p. Plus half the food they listed on their menu wasn't even put out, like their famous mac & cheese. There was supposed to be a champagne toast at midnight... never got it. At 11:50pm they told us we had to make our own way through the crowd to get it ourselves from the bar. It took a half hour just to get to the bathroom, there was no way to get through to the bar before midnight!!!! At 12a there were supposed to be desserts put out...never saw one. The open bar was supposed to be top shelf... only beer that was included was Bud light... who drinks that by the way??? Plus the drinks were weaker than I've ever tasted and I don't normally drink. The bathrooms were disgusting... the smell was horrible. I felt bad for the woman working in there. I can only imagine what the men's room was like. Once 12a passed, I guess they decided to let anyone into the club... so much for only 200 tickets sold. We had to end up leaving because you could even move, let alone dance... and god forbid you dropped something... you weren't bending down to get it....it was gone!! I would never recommend going there again... there are much better place to spend your hard earned money in the big apple!!!!

After reading the reviews, i went to check it out. I paid a cover and walked in to see a fat chick dancing to the Spin Doctors. It officially loses the title "Rock Club" there. Save your money and go to a rock club club instead .

Pros: Lighter wallet and excerise walking up the stairs

Cons: To far away from the real rock clubs. Spin Doctors friendly crowd.

I went to Snitch for my friends 25th Birthday. We had a blast. Bouncers, bartenders and crowd were super nice and friendly. The down side was that it was very crowded and took a long time to fish through the crowd to get to the bar or bathrooms. Also the crowd was very young. It seemed that everyone was younger than 28 or so. This is both a plus and minus. Other than that a great time!

1. Snitch is not owned by Velvet Revolver or Fuel, they pulled out in March of '05

I decided to write this because my band and I will never play there again anyway since DJ STRIP the best soundman has quit and they made us fill out a 1099 just to get paid and it took 2 months just to get a $55 dollar check and am sick and tired of people like this posing as something they arent.

Holy Greatness! I thought I was going to some meatheady/gold-diggerish club, being that my night out was to be on 21st street, but I was sorely mistaken. First of all, the Triple 777s played and they were off the hook! Half-way through their show the chicks in the club started dancing on stage and it got hotter and hotter from that point on. Man, when the band was done with their killer set, the dj started, people got on stage, and it just got better and better, and the rest should be in history books. All of the people in there danced, partied, and wanted each other. Some stripper came in and sung happy birthday to someone and she was hot! There were girls on girls, guys on girls, girls on guys on girls, les***ns making out everywhere, straight people touchin' each other all over the place, the bar tenders were maaad cool, always right there (Dean!), the dj always played the right song, there was pole dancing strictly and continuously by the customers, EVERY chick (and guy) was hot and everybody was in a great mood and dancing together and feelin' like horny rockstars with cold beers and *ex and everything in the air! Even the door chick and the bouncers were cooler than normal. This place was like an @ss machine and there were no fights, no chicks crying, no one was thrown out, everyone was s*xual and had smiles and partied hard, the WHOLE TIME. I seriously go out all the time in this city and had no idea what was sitting on 21st & 6th. I don't know if that was just the perfect night in so many ways or if this happens all the time there, but I do know is that even though words can't describe the feeling of how awesome all of those factors made that night, I can say this last Saturday makes me feel like the king of the world. All my friends that were there say the same thing.

The music is lame but even worse if someone at the bar gets your phone number they will text all hours of the day and night for bad parties. I wouldn't support this place because they use promoters who just don't get it. Spam is spam and texting people who don't want to be texted is not cool and it's not Rock and Roll!

Stumbled into this place randomly one friday night, not knowing anything about it. Somehow got through the doorman without a cover charge...
All the sudden this band jumps on stage and rocks the place out. Then the DJ afterward was playing the most slammin' rock tunes I would ever want to hear out at a bar. Loud as hell, awesome vibe, cool crowd, tons of hotties, awesome awesome awesome!! Everyone was rocking out on the dance floor and people were dancing on top of things. It was totally like a rock video! Can't stress enough what a cool vibe was there. It was not like a bunch of meatheads looking for trouble, just a bunch of all-good people looking to rock out! The bar doesn't seem to mind people lighting up cigarettes and I got the occasional whiff of "tweeds"...but I would expect nothing less at this scene.
Sure it was crowded and getting to the bar was tough, but this is NYC so you gotta know how to slide in and get to the bar!
I've been living in NYC for 6 years and this experience was one of my best EVER.
All the other reviews say the mixed drinks & shots were expensive, but I was just drinking beer. I think the thing to do is to get a little buzz somewhere else first then come there for the rest of the night and just drink beers. Rock on! I will definately be back!

Thank god Snitch back. The crowd is once again attractive indie rocker after a brief period of I-Banking suits. The caliber of bands is even better than before. I love the renovations, especially the stripper pole in the back. Last week when I went, the place was almost full and the dance floor wild, until 4 in the morning. The ultimate New York rock experience is officially back.

I had a party last weekend reuniting a bunch of my old girlfriends at Snitch. One of my friends suggested that we do it there. It was the best night out this summer, if not this year. We danced all night, most of the night on the platforms that connect the booths. It was a great crowd and the guys are the door were gorgeous. Truly making it a unique only in New York experience, one door guy wrote personal messages in pen (instead of stamping) on our hands so we could re enter the bar after having a cigarette.

talk about getting screwed over. we planned our buddy's birthday party at snitch, and the people we spoke to behorehand were incredibly misleading. In order to to make sure our whole party of 20+ people would get in, we had to reserve a table and agree to pay $400+ on two bottles. Not such a bad deal if you are splitting it among a large crowd. We were told, since we were buying bottles there would be no cover. We were sorely mistaken. Only four members of our group were comped, and everyone else had to pay a $15 cover. Then we still had to pay the $400 for two small bottles of absolut. After this, members of our party who showed up late were not allowed in unless we bought another bottle. What a joke!! This is certainly not the bottle place either, our table that was "reserved" barely even existed. The crowd was fun, cause we knew everyone there. But the music was too loud to hold a conversation, the bar was inpenetrable, and the bouncers were complete jerks. I would only recommend this place if you know everyone who is going to be there that night. If not, it's a complete dump only interested in ripping you off.

We had the worst experience last night trying to play here. Too many bands were booked, it was unorganized and unstructured. Other bands started getting angry, so the atmosphere quickly went down hill. This chaos might have been due to the booking agent, but the entire evening was a mess. Do not play here!

This was probably the worst bar I've ever been to. It was crowded, smokey, and dirty. We paid a cover to get in and were so disgusted by the place that we left without even ordering a drink (not that we could have squeezed our way to the bar if we tried).

Pros: awesome music, rowdy , friendly atmosphere

.

The atmosphere here was kinda *ehh* -- Probably a good place to go with a group of friends, but when trying to reach friends of mine via phone to tell them how to get to the place I had to LEAVE the bar just so I could hear 1 word. It was unnecessarily loud. Screaming-your-head-off-just-to-conversate-with-your-friends-standing-2-feet-in-front-of-you-loud. No thanks. My voice was shot the next day.

Pros: Chill, Friendly vibe

Cons: Loud

I was really surprised by the lack of anything cool going on the night I went. I did go on a weeknight, but still, I expected SOMEthing with all the buzz this place has been getting. I got a bar that only had three kinds of beer TOTAL and barely any selection of types of alcohol - charged $9 for A SHOT and the bartender had no idea how to change the channel on the TVs, she said we had to wait for a manager. The only people there besides me were a small group of frat-boys and a group of guys in suits trying to act cool. well I guess those suits can afford to pay $9 for a drink or a shot but I can't.
