The people who own this place hate gay people. On three occasions I have heard offensive remarks twords gay customers. This is a gay neighborhood. Like the other reviewer I was a loyal customer and will NEVER buy any thing there again. I support the call to boycott these people. If you have any regard for human rights, human dignity dont step foot in here. I did but canned goods here, packaged goods too, but it is not clean and would not reccoment buying anything prepared there.

Pros: None

Cons: Un american,

In the 3 years since I moved to the block I have patronized this deli on w49th and 10th ave just about every day. A low estimate of my weekly spending would easily be $200. Everything was fine until the cool group of guys that ran the counter disappeared and some rude smirky kid took their place. At first I ignored the things he would say about customers under his breath. Mostly things about gay patrons. I am gay, but Lord knows Im not politically correct all the time. However, In the last 6 weeks he started charging me varying higher prices for the same items, went out of his way to take other people before me and even gave my egg sandwich to someone who ordered one after me because they work for fedex whose office building is nearby. When the new deli opens on w49th and 11th ave....me and also probably everybody who works at fedex will be going there instead, because its closer. Im sure that fedex guy will walk to 10th ave once the new place opens. Yeah right. I might have stayed loyal and walked further...but after being treated like this I will take my money somewhere else, anywhere else. Even if I have to walk further until the new place opens on my corner.
