Taverna Kyclades

Every time I go to Taverna Kyclades, I have to get the peasant salad and the greek style shrimp (broiled in bubbly tomato/bell peppers and melty feta). They have indoor and outdoor seating, which is especially nice during the summer. This place is a favorite with locals--on a Friday or Saturday night the line for a table can go halfway down the block!

sometimes you are in the mood for fish then this is the place to go. The fish is fresh and the food is good the prices moderate. I like the baby shark with skordalia .. The calamari is crispy and not rubbery .This place get very busy on the weekend so if you not there early you might have to wait. It is hard to park around there but it is worth the wait for looking for a spot.

Lots of Greek places in Astoria, true, and many of them have fish, yes. But Kyclades is, hands down, the best. Most of their fish is simply prepared, but it is the best, freshest, most excellent cuts you will find anywhere. The swordfish steak is literally the best I've had anywhere, and it's easily big enough for 2 people. The decor isn't much, but the fish makes this joint worth the trip.
