You have to look for the address, enter a small hallway, take a tiny elevator up to the second floor. There are no markings or signs in English.. Yes, it's tough to find. So, I was amazed that it was so full of non-Koreans. How a table of over-dressed preppies and another one of large-chested meathead jocks found the place is beyond me. But they did, and contributed to the extremely loud background noise.
The supposed hit of Baden Baden is the chicken. All of us ordered the Baden Baden Chicken and were disappointed. Salty, dry and not particularly tasty. It came with sweet-pickled radish (Mussammari) and THAT was terrific! I could've eaten it as a dish myself. If they sold jars of it, I would've bought half a dozen. If you squirt the chicken with the hotsauce on the table, it improves immensely. Not super, but very good. One of us also ordered a plain salad, and that was tasty and beautifully presented.
The super thing about this place is the service. It's as if the staff were in competition, the winner being the one who helps you the most. From the manager to the busboys. It's non-stop Jane/Johnny On The Spot. They are wonderful and turn an interesting but not spectacular place into a MUST VISIT. It's a great secret hangout to bring out-of-town guests. The food's okay, but the fun of finding the place... and the incredibly nice staff... will make Uncle Bill and Aunt Edna talk about it for a long time. --Drink Club is a roving group of NYC drinkers

Pros: The best staff in Koreatown! maybe in NY

Cons: Loud, unspectacular chicken

This place has been favorite for Korean folks in the city for a while. It''s easy to find, price is reasonable, and less confrontational than other places, so it's nice to bring friends from work.

on that note. don't have their calamari or any other food menu. it's really gross and over priced. Chicken is all rite. but other bar foods are straight from frozen package across the street at H mart, and it's really disgusting.

Pros: casual vibe for K town

I never thought of fried chicken to be a korean dish, but I guess it is, and it's pretty darned good! The prices were pretty high, just like the rest of the restaurants in the area, but Baden Baden was better than many I've tried around here.

This place feels and tastes just like those popular beer joints all over Seoul. Baden Baden's signature dish, "fried chicken" is really a rotisserie chicken that is quickly fried right before being served. The result is a wonderful mix of moist and crunch. the sea snail noodle salad is incredibly spicy, but absolutely delicious if you can handle the heat. BBNY also serves other Korean beer hall favorites such as kimchi noodles and oxtail soup. The portions are huge, perfect for sharing. Although it is a beer joint, they do serve other alcohol, incluidng soju and cocktails. I'd definitely go back to BBNY--- with lots of friends!

Pros: Fun atmosphere, fried chicken, music

Cons: Limited food choices --- But then this is not a full-scale restaurant. It's a beer joint.
