I've eaten from Pig Heaven a few times and while they have a large menu and the food is good, it's not the best in the neighborhood that I've had. The food tends more towards Vietnamese influence than most Chinese food, so it's a great choice for people who like that type of food. They deliver, which is a plus.

Pig Heaven

Pig Heaven is simply a heavenly restaurant that features ceramic pigs. They serve excellent chinese cuisine and while a bit cramped for space... That's the city! The restaurant is small and cozy and the owners make it a point to greet you personally. Excellent.

OK Ribs & High Quality at a Price
by UncleMarty15
I saw NPH reviewed on the Travel Channel program BBQ Paradise. Made a special trip to try, and Hey! Fergetaboutit!!! - Ribs were high quality & very tasty - chinese style, a little sweet, little to no char or crunch and no heat. But $8 for 6 medium sized pork ribs (or $12 for 8 ribs) ??? The value problem continued ...... tried a very tasty & tender salt & pepper squid from the "specials" menu - $9 for a very undersized portion (maybe $1.50 worth at RETAIL) dressed with a little sad iceburg lettuce and some cilantro crumbs...... small fried dumplings were likewise very good, seemingly made in-house and a bargain at $6 for 6.
So if you live in the nabe and have the bucks, go for it ..... overpriced, but this IS the UES... on the flip side, this is E82 & 2nd Ave., not really high roller territory.... we walked from the Met museum to check it out..... next time we will head straight downtown.....There are better ribs in NYC and far better values in quality Chinese food.
Pros: Food Quality, Service
Cons: Value, Undersized Portions

Heavenly butt!
by TestyGuest
The best butt I've eaten anywhere! Seriously, the food here is way above average - fun concepts, no grease, and plenty of fresh vegetables in nicely-flavored stir-fry dishes. The roast pork butt will appeal to meat lovers. The service was great, everything was reasonably-priced, and we had plenty of time to sit and enjoy our meal with no pressure whatsoever to vacate our table. I'm already plotting my next visit.

best chinese food at upper east side
by ccsy888
Went there on last Tuesday and the service was very good. Everyone was extremely nice, and the food did not take long to arrive at our table. I had a good time, and was able to carry a conversation without them trying to rush you out of the restaurant. The taste and quality of the food were good as well. The food doesnt have excesses amounts of oil. If you want good chinese food where the quality and service of the food are great then go to Pig Heaven

Loyal Customers Are Valued
by nycinephile
I take dinner out from Nancy's Pig Heaven at least once a week, and often take lunch out on Saturday afternoons. Typically, I order the roast pork butt, dry sauteed string brings, table salad, won ton soup and brown rice. The quality of the pork butt has varied. On some nights, it has been moist and flavorful. On others, it's been dry and almost tasteless. Over the past two weeks, I've replaced the pork with roast chicken. This dish is a winner. The skin is crispy, and the meat is moist and accented with tasty herbs. I love the string beans' grilled, garlicky flavor. Nancy and her staff consistently greet me with bright smiles and enthusiastic "Hello!"s. They recognize the value of loyal customers, and have made me feel that I'm part of their family.
Pros: Prompt, friendly service; roast chicken; dry sauteed string beans
Cons: Inconsistent quality of roast pork
