I came to Cowpok this weekend to get my nose pierced, which would be my first piercing done by needle. I was pretty nervous but I felt confident that it would be a fast and easy procedure. As soon as I walked in, the man at the counter (I forgot his name, sorry) was very friendly and easy to talk to. They have so many different pieces to pick from, and bringing in two cans of soup for their Can Drive bought me my pretty little 20 gauge baby pink stud for my nose for only $32. My piercing was done by Sarah, who was very sweet but at the same time very professional. She cleaned everything in front of me with the antibacterial soap and disinfectant, made the mark on my nose of where she was going to pierce it (she told me how she was a perfectionist about her piercings, which made me feel better), and had me lay down on the bed. She then cleaned up my nose, inside and out, and placed a piece of gauze on the opposite side of my nose so that "I wouldn't get my septum pierced, too". She had me inhale, and exhale, and quickly slipped the tiny needle in followed by my little ring. (It didn't hurt by the way, it just feels a little weird.) My nose only bled a tiny bit, which Sarah cleaned up for me, and my right eye watered for a few seconds. Besides that, it was possibly the easiest, fastest thing I've ever done! They even give every customer a pamphlet of reminders for taking care of your piercing and a little bottle of antibacterial soap for cleaning it. Everyone at Cowpok is obviously dedicated to customer satisfaction and keeping their awesome reputation. So if you live in Buffalo and you want a new piercing, don't always listen to your friends or to what "they" say- go take a drive down Elmwood and stop in to Cowpok!

i go to cowpok often for my piercing needs, and my experiences have mostly been good. i have gotten a variety of piercings there, ear and facial, all have healed very nicely. do not go with a group of friends unless you are all getting pierced.

if you want to get pierced in buffalo, cowpok is your best bet. decent prices, great staff, and fast unless theyre busy. go when they have 1/2 off sales!

I went to cowpok to get my belly-button pierced. The guy who did it placed the piercing ABOVE my belly-button, as opposed to inside it. It was constantly red and irritated no matter what I did. It just would not heal, and it was painful. I finally had to take it out and now I have a scar.

I have been a frequent customer at the Cowpok, getting an industrial, my nostril, and a dermal anchor on my chest. They didn't do too well. My industrial(by Keith) never healed because he used a barbell that was far too short to allow for swelling and it was constantly irritated. My nostril piercing, which was done by Sarah, I've have for almost a year now and it is still not healed. It always acts up, looks gross, and hurts, regardless of my daily sea salt soaks and whatnot. I hate to take it out but I'm thinking that's what I will have to do. And my dermal anchor, done by Keith, sticks out too far and is tilted to one side! I sure hope it doesn't choose to reject because that means I lost even more money to this place.

I also have a friend who had her vertical labret and her helix pierced there. Her vertical labret was way off center the first time and he used the wrong gauge jewelry that is best for the piercing. They redid it for free but it just wouldn't heal. Her helix also wouldn't heal, despite her care and patience.

They are also very snobby. I read an interview with Sarah and she said "Ive NEVER had anyone not like their piercing that I did." And they love to bash the other neighborhood piercing shops.

So overall, I'm giving up on the place. They've sucked too much of my money away.

Cons: Snobby attitude, incompetent piercers

I got my first piercing at Hardcore on Elmwood. After that I had the impression that tattoo/piercing shops were all dirty and small with drugged up workers. When I wanted to get my nose pierced, I decided to go a little further up the street and try cowpok. The difference was amazing. The staff is SO nice. They have the cleanest shop and the cleanest jewlery. I remember at hardcore the guy just grabbed some jewlery out of the case and blew on it. At cowpok they disinfect everything that will come near you, and they use that machine to clean all the jelwery before it comes in contact with you. If they werent awesome enough already, they now have cooper who does these INSANELY awesome tattoos. Seriously, cowpok is the only place I would trust with my piercing needs now. I highly recommend them

I went with my friend to get her belly button done here. The man, while looking rather scary, was extremely nice and made the whole ordeal less stressful for my friend who was scared. They have one main room filled with different kinds of piercings as well as a smaller side room. If you are getting something pierced they take you into a back room to do it. Look out for discounts because they have had some great sale days in the past.

PROS: cheap if you go when they are having a sale
CONS:
