After seeing two other vets about our cat??s chronic respiratory issue, we went to The Cat Practice. (Previously we had been told by the other vets that the issue was likely allergy-related and hard to diagnose/treat.) Dr. Sullivan was not satisfied with this surface explanation and conducted multiple tests. The cat tested positive for a bacterial organism, which required a medication specific to the bacteria to finally rid the cat of this ongoing, chronic problem. Without Dr. Sullivan??s help, who know how long the other vets would have needed to get the diagnosis right, if at all? Long and short, I wish we had not wasted time, money and our pet's comfort going elsewhere before here. Dr. Sullivan was prompt, caring, knowledgeable, and accessible for follow up. He is as competent and genuine as they come. After visiting The Cat Practice, Dr. Sullivan is the only vet we would we trust with our cat??s health.

My cat has been a long time patient of Dr. Sullivan and I have always been very pleased with his practice and staff. Recently, my cat had a serious issue with loss of mobility and pain in his lower back and hind legs. It was a very scary situation, but Dr. Sullivan quickly ascertained that the cause was a herniated disc and began my cat on a course of rehabilitation with an initial cortisone shot and conservative, but effective, doses of a feline safe steroid.

I also ended up medically boarding him for about a week to better control his movement while the disc healed. During this period I was very worried and the separation from my cat was emotionally challenging as I feared he may possibly have irreparable spinal damage. But Yolanda and Mubarik and the rest of the staff were incredibly compassionate and encouraged me to visit him as often as possible, which I did. The care they gave him was exceptional and he began to respond well to the course of treatment and gain mobility again.

Lastly, Dr. Sullivan helped refer me to the top veterinary neurologist in New York (the amazing Dr. Boaz Levitin at NYC Veterinary Specialists) so my cat could have further evaluation and treatment recommendations for long term care.

I felt that Dr. Sullivan really helped me to understand the diagnosis, to make well balanced decisions in regards to initial treatment options, and encouraged me to seek additional opinions from specialists. I never felt any pressure to jump into costly and possibly ineffective surgeries, etc. He is a truly caring professional that I would highly recommend for both routine and serious cat health issues.

Receptionist is a sweet heart who really cares. Doctor S. is highly educated, a cat lover, and has tons of experience. Staff is great. They are the only people my cat is not scared of (must be because they really are cat lovers). They are reasonably priced-and will not bullshit you or make you spend more than need be. And they are open 7 days a week!

PROS: Everything
CONS: Nothing I can think of.

Cats practice is a great place to check out if you are in the market for a place to keep your pet cat during a holiday visit or when you are going away for business. They have supervised playrooms for a fun atmosphere for your cats. They also make sure that your pets get exercise.

was searching for a vet that focuses on cats. It's scary enough for my kitties to go to the vet without making them put up with scary dogs nosies and smells. The staff here is very friendly and it's easy to get appointments. The doctors seemed knowledgeable and explained things thoroughly. I like the central convenient location, but it is on an avenue, which makes the street busy and noisy when I'm carrying the cats from the cab to the door. The cats in the boarding area seemed to be getting a lot of attention from the technicians and staff.
