This place has a very lounge feel, then there are go go boys which are kind of out of place. The drinks are typical for NY.

The reason the bartender doesn't know the difference between a lime and a lemon is because he is one of the many Colombians, that have come to this country and never bothered to learn English. By the way, his Spanish is not understandable either, I'm from Spain, don't you think I would know??

great large space. interesting layout that has potential. downstairs bathroom area is filthy. No attitude detected the few times i was there. I ordered dietcoke with lime and consistently received lemon. If you dont have lime just say so. The decor is bla and the bartenders are okay. No big deal.
Pros: location is cool
Cons: dirty bathroom

I have never had a bad time at Urge! But, I do wish that the down stairs lounge would reopen.
The dancers are HOT (some can even move to the music) and are very friendly.
The bartenders are fun, especially Dennis. Nice mix of gay gents.
You can get a date and not have to worry about hustlers.
Wish they had a dance area. Game/Event nights are fun.
One complaint about the customers: Guys bring their Hags with them and they stay too long.
Sorry if you cant get a date girls, but don't ruin my chances. Obviously Urge is a fun place for all!
Its Great to have a fun place on the east side!
Pros: I never had a bad time at Urge! Event nights.
Cons: Lower lounge needs to reopen

A nice place to start off the evening. Loungey atmosphere with mellow friendly crowd. Clean and nicely decorated. Fun drag shows.
Pros: mellow and cool atmosphere.
Cons: kinda small

The bartenders have the attitude without the looks to back it up. The whole staff needs Prozac. They have two bartenders on busier nights which means you wait and wait.
This place needs to clean house and it is NOT worth the visit. Ugly bartenders with way too much attitude.
Place is becoming less and less popular which is no surprise because the service stinks.
At least in Chelsea the attitude buys you something good to look at. Here they have creightons working the bar.
Go elsewhere...
Pros: Interesting bar set-up
Cons: Consistently ugly bartenders with attitude

8/01/07 Post by AFruitFli - This is in response to 01/02/2007 Posted by pengy103 - Darling, Hags are not the best to be in a boi bar. BUT let me tell you Hags are who get you your husbands my friend. Next time your there look for me, Jamie - "AFruitFli", I am not a HAG, but a fruitfli and will always be. Hags that talk to loud, drink too much and fall down and expect there queens to take care of them - do not need to go to boi bars and stay to the end. They need to have a drink and head home. So pengy103 - be nice to the "hags" and kindly ask them to get there huge pocket book and go to a straight bar to look at d*ck. Love Always, FruitFli!!!
07/28/2006 Posted by AFruitFli - This the one of the BEST happy hours in NYC! I basically live at URGE, my friends call it my second apartment. 2 and 2 baby - located on 2nd Ave, 2nd Street.... Its a local, "cheers" bar where they know your name and your drink!! Adam and Dennis are the BEST! xoxo FruitFli
Pros: Regular Crowd, Fun, Cheap
Cons: Dark and Dengy (but is ok, I like it that way)

If your part of the "past their prime" gay crowd, this would be a great place for you. But if you've still got your youth then you're very much better off finding another bar.

otherwise i love the scene. i'm a straight girl who goes with my gay guy friend. i loved how they turned down the music for the ice skating olympics.

Urge is alright, as good as gay bars get; but WOW, they had the hottest go-go dancer EVER there last friday. holy crap! i'd go back just for him.
Pros: good music, HOT gogo boys, relaxed
Cons: a little sedate

Okay, Urge came highly recommended from several people. I just don't feel it. The crowd is pretty lame and so is the music. It kind of belongs in Chelsea. Not my thing.
Pros: None
Cons: Lame Crowd, Bad Music

Urge has one of the best happy hours going in the city..2-for-1 drinks with bartenders that never skimp on the booze. If you go early the folks here are usually more open and friendly than later at night when the stand on the wall and stare into space while holding a beer at crotch level boys show up. Bonus...the staff is attitude free and lots of fun if you play with them.
Pros: happy happy hour, friendly staff, not crowded
Cons: bad music, not crowded

Finally a great night that takes downtown back to the way it was. Wednesday night I saw the greatest drag show at Urge Lounge. The customers are village-esque, chilled and the drinks are strong. Living in the area, I know when a good bar come around. This is going to only get bigger, go while the lines are short.
Pros: bathroom, drinks, music

Whats a place liek this doing in the East Village? Don't we have enough of the attitude on the west side of town, why bring it to the East Village? My friends and I found it cold and boring (Friday 11pm). I chatted with one of the supposed owners and found him arrogant and full of attitude. Take the place back to Chelsea.
Cons: bad attitude, cold atmosphere

Finally, a new East Village bar that's not full of stand-and-model types. The crowd is cute, but not so scenestery that you feel like you need to buy a new outfit just to go in. Great music, friendly bartenders, comfy lounge seats. Sure, it's a little LA inside, but that's par for the course these days, right? Go now before it gets packed to the gills.
