Phil at Illuminations was most helpful in the replacement of bulbs for my kitchen fixture. He suggested LED which are perfect as far as just the right brightness and they are much cooler than the halogen. I decided to bring Phil two table lamps that are crystal and brass to be cleaned and rewired. They look brand new. The work at Illuminations is excellent and the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend Illuminations.

Purchased several pendant light fixtures several years ago and recently one had stopped working. Called Illuminations and spoke with the owner Philip who was most helpful. I brought in the transformer and was told only a portion of it was broken. The piece was replaced and I saved half the cost of the transformer thanks to Philips honesty. Would highly recommend Illuminations when shopping for lighting related items.

Well stocked showroom and great customer service. Warren helped us pick out the perfect floor lamp and explained the pros and cons of the various bulb options. They wrapped the lamp up and packed it safely in our vehicle. Very professional; in fact, we ordered a second lamp!

I highly recommend buying lighting at Illuminations. The employees are friendly, knowledgeable and really helpful. I was having trouble picking fixtures. They suggested bringing a picture of the rooms. That rely helped. More than that were their suggestions when we had to choose. They told us to consider the size, the direction of the light etc. and noted the differences in our selections. They checked the fixtures carefully when they arrived , while we were there, and recommended reliable electricians to install the fixtures.

I normally don't write reviews, however I had to take the time to write about my positive experience with Illuminations! I purchased a new lighting fixture for my newly renovated bathroom. Working with Phillip, he suggested the 3 bulb fixture as it would be more than enough light for my bathroom, however, if I wasn't 100% satisfied I could exchange it without any issues. After installing the light, I really felt I needed the 4 bulb version. I took Phillip up on his offer to exchange the light for me and he did without any problems at all. He gladly took back the 3 bulb version and allowed me to upgrade to the 4 bulb version (just paying the difference fixture). I could not be happier with my lighting fixture and my experience with Illuminations. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the market for a new light fixture.

As soon as you walk in one is sincerely greeted cheerfully and feel these people could be a friend. I showed them the printout of the fixture and asked if they could get it and at what price. They met the Internet price and to boot explained that if we didn't like it we had 6 MONTHS to return for a full credit towards another fixture. No restocking fee
They inspected the fixture in our presence too insure no defects. in fact there were some minor tiny flaws that no one would notice but the insisted on ordering at no charge replacement crystals. Don't bother going anywhere else.
I heard them helping other customers on all the latest technology with kitchen lighting.

I wanted a high quality chandelier and was not able to find it until I went into Illuminations - the showroom is large and has a vast supply of lighting on display... I found both salesmen to be very nice people and with a sense of humor - I tried to haggle a little but the prices were firm and I did not push it because the chandelier was a quality piece and was prices competitive - By the end of the sale I added in the light bulbs and the dimmer switch and was given 20% of the switch by using the coupon from their web site and was given a free box of bulbs - I wanted to install the light right away and did not want to wait for delivery and Philip allowed me to purchase the display- they had it packed up efficiently and put it in the car for me - they gave me directions on the installation process and I had it installed in less the 30 minutes - it was the perfect size for the room and look fantastic - I will be back for future lighting needs... Thanks Illuminations !!

This is Christian B again...He nor his staff gave me the kindness of 20 minutes (his first lie of many) its was more like 8 minutes before the unprofessional behavior and rudeness began. And I STILL didn't appreciate the crude sexual jokes at my expense so you can make your staff have a laugh!

I don't have a clue what his made up, imagined retail 'showrooming' terms are........Simply, he was the place I went to AFTER looking online! He LOST a $500 sale which is what I ended up spending at Legend Lampshades in Huntington NY for my shades >>DO YOURSELVES A FAVOR....GO THERE! FAR SUPERIOR SELECTION AND SERVICE!

I asked him to help me write down the sizes with ruler and pen so I could go home and make sure the lampshades would fit in my space NOT conspire with the internet against his "showroom"!

There is one simple matter. The customer TOLD us it was our job to measure up his lamps and give him the measurements so he can shop online. Any store would have told a customer how inappropriate that behavior is. As this is his 2nd negative review on the same visit, I would like to point out how wrong and childish and hurtful he was to make negative comments about our employees. He should stick to his point and act as a mature person.

MOST INSULTING AND DEGRADING SHOPPING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! Take your time to Read ALL this and save yourself the trip to Illuminations,,,,,,,

I brought my vintage lamps there to try and find shades I liked. I should have known I was in trouble when I told the owner Phillip (be warned..you know his name now a scary, rude and angry guy) "I had something to show him" (I had brought some crystal pieces from my chandelier to him) and his loud reply for ALL the store to hear was "well don't take it out of your pants"! Ummm....Widely inappropriate to say to a new customer at the least but I ignored it and pressed on with my lamp shade needs.

He gives me a a staff rep named Darlene to help me. She had half her teeth missing, tattoos up her forearms and looked like she was allergic to bath water but who am I go judge....she was helpful enough UNTIL she asked me "why I wanted to know the measurments of the one shade I had tried on the lamp" When I told her "I need to know the size to comparrison shop and make sure it fits my space at home" she promptly abandoned me without a single word and went to do nothing at the front desk instead. Ummm...ok.

The owner Phil comes back over (and I'm there all of 10mins. mind you) and I ask him "can I try a second lamp shade" and he says "NO" Shocked I say "why" he says to my face "we aren't going to waste our time with anyone who isn't going to buy something from us, why would you want to comparrison shop anywhere else, that is why Darlene walked away from you, she won't waste her time" Readers I kid you NOT! I said "I don't think I'm comfortable buying anything from this store anymore" and he said "good, fine, have a nice day" Ummmm......no chance of that happening anymore Phil but thanks!

Did they want my first born child and the deed to my house also for the purchase of two lampshades?! Heres a valuable lesson Philip.....THIS IS AMERICA Phil, anyone can comparison shop! Its YOUR job and YOUR staff's to make me feel so great about my shopping experience that I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. Instead, in 10 mins in this shop I was harrassed with embarrassing lude remarks of a sexual nature, abandoned by my sales rep within 5 mins and told by the owner in no uncertain terms that their time is far more valuable than my time there and if I wasn't going to commit to give them my money that day at moment then I wasn't welcome to be shopping there!

As I left this store, dejected, embarrassed and shocked with my unshaded lamp in tow I noticed I was the only customer there and didn't wonder why. Phil, I'm in customer service too and if I EVER treated a potential new customer I had just met and needed help with a purchase like that I wouldn't have food on my table or a roof over my head.

You should know better at your age that it was YOUR job to make me a loyal customer not demand that I be one first! And if your staff member abandoned me after 5 min. cause I wasn't worth her time, you need to fire her and put her salary towards taking some customer service classes for yourself so you can set a good example for them not teach them the most effective way to drive away the customers!

Ironically when I entered your store I was excited that after all this searching I was finally going to purchase. You blew a $250-$300 sale because I wasn't worth your time when you thought there'd be the smallest chance I'd look in a second shop just to be sure of my purchase. Real Smart!

To add insult to injury, I had spent $45 on chandelier parts there the day before and HE was the one who asked me to come back with my lamp the following day! HOW, could they think after that, that I wasn't a serious buyer! I'm literally taking the effort to carry in the actual lamps! LOL

I"m SO sorry I spent even that much there and acutally went back a second time only to be abused so badly. The owner gives the impression he worships the almight $$$ and the hell with the customer.

When I left and went up the road to Cutlers lighting and told them what I just went thru, they laughed and said "Oh, yeah we've heard from many others about this guy" LOL

Everyone reading this and in need of shades or lighting, save yourself a lot of insult and injury and go to "Legend Lamp Shades and Antique Lighing" in Great Neck or Huntington Station...blows away the selection and service of this idiot and his insignificant store.....and God bless the Amercian Consumer...the customer and their experience is ALWAYS the most important factor of ANY business no matter what!

I wouldn't buy a light bulb from Illuminations in Rockville Centre and I will make sure everyone I know and don't know hears of my shopping experience there.

As I left this store, dejected, embarrassed and shocked with my unshaded lamp in tow I noticed I was the only customer there and didn't wonder why. Phil, I'm in customer service too and if I EVER treated a potential new customer I had just met and needed help with a purchase like that I wouldn't have food on my table or a roof over my head.

You should know better at your age that it was YOUR job to make me a loyal customer not demand that I be one first! And if your staff member abandoned me after 5 min. cause I wasn't worth her time, you need to fire her and put her salary towards taking some customer service classes for yourself so you can set a good example for them not teach them the most effective way to drive away the customers!

Ironically when I entered your store I was excited that after all this searching I was finally going to purchase. You blew a $250-$300 sale because I wasn't worth your time when you thought there'd be the smallest chance I'd look in a second shop just to be sure of my purchase. Real Smart!

To add insult to injury, I had spent $45 on chandelier parts there the day before and HE was the one who asked me to come back with my lamp the following day! HOW, could they think after that, that I wasn't a serious buyer! I'm literally taking the effort to carry in the actual lamps! LOL

I"m SO sorry I spent even that much there and acutally went back a second time only to be abused so badly. The owner gives the impression he worships the almight $$$ and the hell with the customer.

When I left and went up the road to Cutlers lighting and told them what I just went thru, they laughed and said "Oh, yeah we've heard from many others about this guy" LOL

Everyone reading this and in need of shades or lighting, save yourself a lot of insult and injury and go to "Legend Lamp Shades and Antique Lighing" in Great Neck or Huntington Station...blows away the selection and service of this idiot and his insignificant store.....and God bless the Amercian Consumer...the customer and their experience is ALWAYS the most important factor of ANY business no matter what!

I wouldn't buy a light bulb from Illuminations in Rockville Centre and I will make sure everyone I know and don't know hears of my shopping experience there.
THEY DO NOT DESERVE YOUR BUSINESS OR HARD EARNED MONEY!

After twenty minutes trying on several shades, and fitting shades to his lamp, the customer asked me for a ruler and pen and paper, so he can write the measurements so he can do an internet comparison for the shade we sized for him. When I told him it is inappropriate to use us to size his shades so he can purchase elsewhere, he told me it was my job to take care of him. When he went further and wanted me to size some more shades for him, I asked him to leave and walked away from him. A he left, I told him what he was not comparison shopping, but what he was doing is called "Showrooming" where he takes up the time of a showroom who has invested time and money on display, but intends on shopping online. He is welcome to purchase anywhere he wants, but should not ask someones staff to do his measuring and fitting for him. I

Steve C. purchased recessed lighting, and AFTER purchasing them, his contractor told him to get the style for ceilings with insulation. He came in to return the goods, and I told him I have the insulated ceiling units in stock and we could exchange them, but he said the electrician was already supplying them. TWO ISSUES: 1. Steve C. says that he thought we had a 60 Day refund policy, We have had a 6-Month Exchange policy for over 5 years, The very site he put his negative review has several customer reviews stating they purchased from us because of our 6-Month Exchange policy. The store policy is also on google search and on our web site, signage at the counter, and on his signed receipt. 2. Steve C. says the units were overpriced. We spent quite some time showing the difference in the quality of the American Made recessed lights he purchased compared to the builders quality lighting generally supplied by electricians.

I had purchased a lamp a year ago from Illuminations. Recently, there was an issue with the switch. They were so accommodating. The Owner educated me on how to save my lamp shade and had my switch changed for me within minutes. I was offered a nice, hot cup of coffee which is exactly what I needed at that moment. Everyone was super friendly and sweet from the moment I walked in until I walked out the door. I was shown specific sconces that I was looking for in the store as well as in catalogs. It's so nice to walk in and see friendly faces, deal with really nice people and get awesome customer service! That doesn't happen often. I highly recommend going to this store. Sorry you had a problem. As we suggested, you got the date you were in from the bank, and it was for a purchase, not your repair. When you called the bank again you found out that the repair was much older than you claimed on your review. Then, when you brought the lamp in, we turned the switch ion the other direction to loosen up the knob, and it worked perfectly. We needed a globe for a 3-globed light fixture but found out that they no longer manufactured the fixture. Phil searched and searched until he finally found the globe for us. It was quite a relief since we had spent a lot of time finding this fixture to fit our decor. We have also used their staff to help us choose and design the lighting in our home. We are very pleased.

Had the pleasure of meeting Phillip and his wife and staff at Illuminations of Rockville Centre today. Although it was our first visit there, we were greeted as if we were long time friends and customers. We were presented with many options for our request of ceiling fans, educated about the different types and styles and were able to walk out with everything we needed plus so much more. Phillip is an expert in lighting and bulbs and explained and demonstrated the differences in the CFL vs LED vs Halogen bulbs and had all varieties even very hard to find sizes and styles. What an education my husband and I received. There were more than enough staff on hand to handle the steady stream of patrons and no one was ever waiting. In this day and age where courtesy and attention to the customers is almost totally gone, it was a pleasure to deal with a reputable business that gave you all the attention and time you needed to make an informed decision on your purchases. I will be going back to the store for future purchases of lamps and bulb!

I had the worst experience with Illuminations. We took in a fixture for cleaning/rehab. We were given a 4 to 6 week time frame. it was not finished on time. The sales man was rude when we inquired an approximate finish date. The customer service is horrible and the service is expensive.

They have a six month exchange policy, even on special orders! When the fixture came in, they were absolutely correct on the size.
