It was our anniversary, so I needed to get it right. Thankfully, the boys at Trio made it easy for me. The well spaced tables inspired intimacy, the piano man lightly tickling the ivories provided a slice of something different, and the soft candlelight set the stage for romance. But if the food fell short, all would be lost....

There were no disappointments. The martini shrimp app had five big ones, whose smoky flavor was balanced by the cilantro zip of the sauce. The rib eye, served with mushrooms & French greens, was a far better cut than I had expected to find at a non-steakhouse; while the seafood ravioli made milady coo and smile. Our warmed creme brulee dessert never had a chance. I had to sit on my hands to be fair and share.

It earns four from us because, though the experience was transporting, the wine list was a bit slim and the waiter service a bit spotty. All in all, Trio serves up a great night out. We will certainly be back.

This was an excellent evening out. We went on a Saturday night and they had a piano player set up in their beautiful dining room. The menu had a lot of great choices and nothing was too expensive. 4 of us went, we ordered Shrimp & Cavatelli, Grilled Filet Mignon, Trio Penne, and Beef Ravioli in Bleu Cheese Alfredo. All of us cleaned our plates! I strongly recommend it. We also used a coupon from a Restaurant coupon website which lowered our bill, making it quite a steal.

My boyfriend and I went to Trio to celebrate his birthday. From the moment we walked in we were impressed, and we eat out pretty often. We were greeted warmly by Kenny, the maitre'd, and immediately shown to a table. The waiter came right away and was knowledgeable about the menu items. The lighting was soft and romantic and the piano playing added a nice touch. My boyfriend ordered the filet mignon which was delicious and I ordered the cracked pepper chicken which was also fantastic- very soft and buttery. As we were leaving one of the owners came over and asked if everything had been okay- the personal touch is definitely a unique characteristic of this wonderful restaurant. We had a great evening and plan to go back again soon.

Been there twice now and always enjoy the quiet ambiance...perfect for a romantic dinner. Food was delicious ? shrimp martini app, classic ceasar salad and the rib eye steak, perfectly prepared. All that said, the service lacks something. Server was more of an order taker and never came back to ask how it was. All that said, it is a gem and food is wonderful. I will go back.

This place was way too hyped up for me. Another restaurant I've been dying to go to, so I decided to take someone special here to celebrate a milestone birthday. The food was good but not knocking my socks off. The service was phenomenal, especially since our wait staff knew we were on a time crunch to catch a flight! We started the Crispy calamari which was tasty. For dinner, I had the rib eye steak, and she had the filet mignon - which was good, and better than my dish.

The steak I had here was better than the one I had at Smith & Wollensky's the week before! Great attention to customer service, as the managers are always around, making sure everyone is satisfied. Highly, highly recommended.

Went there last week for dinner. I recomend the trio martini to start and then get the salmon. It was great. Especially the chocolate explosion cake. Very romantic spot with impecable service. Waiters are extremely knowledgable of the menu and are there whenever you need anything. The bartender Sid was the man made us such wonderful drinks we stayed after dinner for a few more and chatted. Great piano player there. She takes requests and is an excellent player. The two owners Brian and Mark came over, introduced themselves and made sure we were more then happy. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great night out and a great night of food. I will definately be returning shorty. Great place, great time.

The best place to dine in NYC hands down. After many years of dining in NYC, I am pleased to say that I have finally found a restaurant that offers both reasonable pricing for delicious food and an exceptionally warm staff. One thing that I found quite pleasing was the fact that the managers would stop by to make sure everything was going well. I have recommended this restaurant to many of my friends and relatives and they feel the same way I feel about Trio. The environment was extremely romantic, no wonder it received best romantic dining in 2007. The piano is a wonderful touch all while being served by the best.

Had my daughter's wedding reception for 50 people and the food, piano player, staff etc. were outstanding. The personal attention of Brian made a special night a really special night. Would recommend this great restaurant for any kind of party and or just for a great place to enjoy a drink and or a meal. Again, not only is the food great but the staff will make your visit one to enjoy. If my daughter gets married again, I would have the reception again at Trio. The personal attention to detail made the special night a really special night.

We went to TRIO last week to celebrate an anniversery. The food was deilicious and speciality drinks a lot of fun. They had a guitar player playing the most lovely music.. He was playing Beatles and other great songs from the 60's and 70's and at a nice volume where we can carry on a conversation. Prices were very reasonable. Looking forward to going back.

I have been to Trio twice under the new ownership. The first time, for an incredible dinner with my husband and another couple. The food was oustanding and the wine was terrific! The deserts were unbelievable! The piano playing definitely added to the ambiance. The second time, I went with girlfriends from work just to relax and enjoy some wine and atmosphere. The owners and the staff made us feel very welcome both times. The service was impeccable. Going back for the third time very soon... I highly recommend Trio to anyone who enjoys fine dining in a great atmosphere.

I am a big fan of trio. It has a great atmosphere. I love the live jazz and the knowledgable staff. There is one particular great meal that I must go back and get once a month. Also they really have some great wine to go with every meal.

Went to Trio recently and had such an amazing dinner. The food was great and atmosphere was fab. Piano player really added a nice touch. The desserts were out of this world. I was told Trio is now under new ownership and what a difference. Can't wait to go back. Very friendly and welcoming. We loved it.. The private room is perfect for a party. Highly recommend this place.

We like to try a restaurant three times before we consider it a new favorite.

If it passes the 3X test, it becomes a favorite that we talk about, and tell our friends to try. People who know us, know we are experienced restaurant goers; and, we've been going to NYC restaurants for over 30 years. In my early career, I worked for Nation's Restaurant News; and, restaurants became a part of our life.

Our 3x test goes beyond the food. It has to be a friendly place, and the staff has to make you feel comfortable...like they are happy that you are there.

Of course the food has to be great, and at Trio there is also live piano music on Wednesday through Saturday. That's a big plus!

The new Trio on 33rd Street and Third Ave is now one of our favorites. Brian and John, the new owners, will make you feel at home. Sid, the bartender, will make you laugh. He's a very funny guy.

Trio is a place where you can meet good people and enjoy tasty food. It's a place for business meetings, romantic dates, pre-theatre dinner, or just a night out.

The food is creative and delicious. The chef has some magic. The menu delivers what it promises. Among the appetizers, there are three that are unique that you definitely have to try. The Crispy Calamari is great. It is served on a special sauce that is mildly spicy. Definitely try the Shrimp Martini and the Grilled Croatian Sausage served with grilled red onion and pita. You will not find this anywhere else. Excellent!.

When you go to Trio, tell them Arthur and Marion sent you. Enjoy!

Very elegant wine bar restaurant. Excellent food and service! Had the goat cheese and beet salad for an appetizer - quite delicious with the goat cheese warm within the bread crumb ball. For my entree, had the shrimp with eggplant and coucous - beautifully presented and very tasty. This restaurant is great for couples and even a couple of friends.

The best roast chicken I've ever had. It's worth the wait as they cook it to perfection. I was extremely impressed with the service and the fare. Brian makes everyone feel welcome.

I held a work function at the restaurant with "physician" customers. Restaurant provided a fantastic wine service in between servings, which was an unbelievable six serving meal. Salad, Chilean Sea bass and main courses were all amazing and the service was fantastic as well. I have gone in the past with my girlfriend and she also had a bachelorette party there which was great, as well. Will continue to work with this group and highly recommend for a couple's dinner or a work function.

Last week I went to Trio for the 3rd time and it keeps getting better. The service is great and the steak is even better. If you are looking for great New American or Coninental cuisine, Trio is the restaurant for you. The piano playing sets a perfect mood as well. The best restaurant I've been to in Murray Hill!

What a gem I found in the heart of Murray Hill. I took my girlfriend here over the weekend as she lives in the neighnborhood and from the moment we stepped inside and was shown to a lovely table in the back to the moment we left the front door we were treated with immaculate service, not to mention the food being out of this world. The steak was as tender as can be. If you love great Continental Food, this is the restaurant for you. They have the best Continental/American style food in the city!

Amazing! I had to plan an event for work and they made it easy. Great private room - like you are in a friend's home - warm, intimate and friendly. The food and service was top notch - I highly recommend it. The owners were a pleasure to work with and all of us came away with the same feeling - we can't wait to go back. Thanks Brian, John and all the staff!
