My friends and I had a lot of fun at the Irish Rogue. Great place - very lively. The bartenders are great - not bad to look at either! Prices are reasonable - plasma TVs are fun too when there's a game on.

Ratings_icons Better than I thought

So after getting stood up by my date outside of an italian restaurant I turned to my right and saw an option of 2 bars. Both seemed cool but one had cute blonds standing out front so...took my chances and strolled into the Irish Rogue. It was about 6pm so it was kinda busy inside. I found a nice seat in the back at the bar and the bartender greeted me w/a beautiful smile and a friendly hello. She ran through all the happy hour specials for me and after finding out they had 4 dollar beers all night I knew I made the right decision. I stayed so long I managed to order food 2 times. Mac n cheese to start (mmmmmm w/bacon might I add) and some sort of Chipotle burger by the 3rd hour to sober me up. The burger was out of this world. Not exactly pub grub. And I managed to make a few friends. Better than my date probably would've been I got lucky enough to be entertained by a live Irish band, exchanged numbers w/some cool people and had a great time. Think I'll be going back soon to try and get the managers number. She was breathtaking. So anyway, sucks I got stood up but I had a better time w/out her. Girls suck but the Irish Rogue wont let you down.

Pros: cool staff, excellent burgers

Cons: wasted my day away sinking in the all night happy hour

Ratings_icons Great Pub in an unlikely location

No one will ever accuse the Irish Rogue of having the best food in Manhattan, but it's still pretty damn good, and the price point is unusual for it's location sitting on the outer fringe of the Times Square.

It's definitely a place that I frequent from time to time when i'm in the area. The food is good and the staff is very friendly. When it's busy the service does slow down a bit, but if you are sitting in the over-stuffed leather barrel chairs by the front window you won't mind too much.

So - If you are in the Time Square area and you want a really good burger, wings and beer at a very affordable price check it out.

Pros: Good food at a great price. Friendly staff.

Cons: The sports crowd can get noisy

Ratings_icons Friendliest Service in Hells Kitchen

Irish Rogue is very relaxing, staff is excellent, prices are reasonanble. When we go in as a group during the week for lunch or Monday nigh for winds, we get treated as family. The Monday night waitresses are wonderful and the daytime staff is great. If you haven't tried the Irish Rogue, make it your new favorite hot spot to sit, chill, relax and watch the game.

Pros: Good Servive, Great Staff, Reasonanble Prices

Cons: WEAK Drinks

I don't understand what's up with these bad reviews? The bar is as great as it ever was! Maybe better! I love this place- great food, great service, and the staff is fantastic! That other reviewer is nuts!

Went here on a Friday night. The bartender was nice (and cute!), prices reasonable, and the bar food is really good!! The place was not too busy, it would have been nice with a little more of a crowd, but overall great bar.

Pros: Good bar food, friendly, inviting

Cons: a little empty for Friday

The Irish Rogue has to be the best bar-restaurant i've ever been to in my life. I have been to about 15 bars in the midtown area over the last 20 years and no place can compare to The Irish Rogue. Lets start with Carol, who is the manager. She goes out of her way to make sure everyone is having a great time. Upon request she always reserves me a seat at the bar for any major sporting event. She gives you the V.I.P service ( including a name place at your seat ). She is the best. Then you have your bartenders- Irene, who i never seen in a bad mood, always ask me how the Rangers are doing? You have Moira ( great hair ) who can sing with the best. Yvonne, Mick, Roger & Corey who always provide great customer service and are always very friendly. Can't forget to mention the servers, Katie, Annette, Andrea, Emily, Nieve, Eileen, Arlene, & Caroline who all work very hard but always have the time to say hello and make you feel welcome. I hope i didn't forget anyone. They are without a doubt the greatest bunch of people i have ever met. As for the bar....Big screen plasma televisions. Party lounge on the sencond floor ( which i must admit to attending a few ). They also have a pool table & dart board. Live music every Thursday night. I try to get to The Irish Rogue 2 - 3 times a week. I would go 7 days a week if i didn't get hangovers. lol. I highly reccomend the Irish Rogue. It's always numer 1 on my list of things to do.

Pros: Great cutomer service, Beautiful girls

Ratings_icons Best IRISH Tavern in NYC

weehawkenbill

My friends and my associates have been going to THE ROGUE since they first opened their doors....it's refreshing to see that this local tavern has only gotten better and even friendlier...I didn't think that would be possible. We have held numberous corporate events both upstairs in the lounge and downstairs when we didn't need as much room. The manager, Carol, has always made our events top-notch....great service from the staff is what keeps us coming back time and time again. Although this tavern can look busy....service is never, EVER compromised. If you haven't been to the ROGUE in awhile...it's time to go back.....if you have never been there.....you deserve this Hell's Kitchen treat!

Pros: Service / Prices / Drink & Food

Cons: No Strippers

I try to avoid Midtown/Times Square at all costs but for the Irish Rogue I make an exception. Vast beer selection, hearty food selection including many great sandwiches, delicious wings (on Monday's they have a wing deal). I have been there with a big group on our way out to watch games at Giants Stadium (Port Authority right there) and they have been very accomodating. I've also been with just a couple of people and have been pleasingly entertained by the hot wait staff and bartenders. Good place to watch sports too.

Pros: Big Space, Great Staff, Good beer and Food

Cons: Midtown!!

Ratings_icons Great food.. Great staff.

Went there with a group of friends for dinner, had a great time. We went there again, pre-theater, and the food was excellent, the atmosphere was really upbeat. Staff were very friendly and relaxed. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back again.

Pros: Friendly staff. Not overcrowded.

Cons: Parking.

Ratings_icons What happened to this place ?

websleuth

I once ate here on a regular basis until it became overcrowded. One exhausted employee spilled the beans about the overcrowding policy...it's all about the cash !!! Overbook ! Overbook ! Overbook ! The place becomes a fire hazard, drinks get spilled on unwitting patrons, service gets clogged, etc. I feel for the employees who do not seem to have a system in place when there are hundreds of patrons over the fire code. Sad because it used to be fun. Now it is just a dangerous, loud, obnoxious cow.

Pros: Friendly Staff

Cons: Intentionally overcrowded creating safety issues

Ratings_icons Great place

Great food and nice place to mellow out without it's being too pretentious or too much of a dive bar. I've been going especially on Thursday and especially on Friday nights to see the fun, entertaining video dj they've had there since the summer and didn't see him this past time, but he and the staff always are always very accomodating.

Ratings_icons Best Irish pub in New York!

This is my first time ever writing a review. I've only been to the Irish Rogue once but it was such a cool place and I will definitely come back when I'm in town. They have very friendly bartenders. The atmosphere is chill. It's a great place to hang out and meet new friends. The Rogue is definitely the best Irish pub I've ever been to!

Pros: Awesome staff, great atmosphere, good prices

Cons: Not enough bars like it

Ratings_icons Best Bar in Hell's Kitchen!

We've lived in the neighborhood for a couple of years and the Irish Rogue has become our regular hangout. It's always a good time. The bartenders are your friends and the rest of the staff is friendly too! Mick, Roger, Sinead and Carol are the best!!! And the Irish brogues don't hurt either.
Friday night is especially fun because they play 80's music and show old 80's videos up on the screen, which is always provides a good laugh!

Even the food selection and quality is great, especially for an Irish pub!

This place stands out among the zillions of other generic Irish bars in Manhattan, and it's definitely worth checking out!

Pros: Friendly service, lots of extras to offer (TV's, couches

Ratings_icons EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE, EXCELLENT FOOD, EXCELLENT PRICES, EXCELLENT EVERYTHING!

We had a private party upstairs for a close friend/fellow comic. The management went above and beyond their duties to make this party extra special. They even supplied the balloons! They greeted people, and sent them upstairs, and the staff was just great, from the bartender we had (Maggie) to the doormen! The food was phenominal (we got a whole bunch of appetizers ranging from Onion rings to Buffalo wings, which were made to perfection). The price is great, as was the music (It was 80's night too yeah!); and the drinks were not too strong, and came in these great glasses. I cannot say one bad thing about this place and I will definitely be returning. I highly recommend this place to anybody having a private party or to anybody who is just looking for a place to hang out and have something to eat for a great reasonable price, and/or to have a drink. Even the beers on tap were tasty. I can type on forever, but I won't. Feel free to email me and ask any questions.

Pros: Having the upstairs plus being given the Mic to have a "roast" for a bunch of us comics was terrific! No charge for the upstairs room!

Cons: None.

Ratings_icons Friendly Staff Will Turn You Into A Regular

The Irish Rogue stepped into Hell' Kitchen a little more than a year ago and quickly charmed the neighorborhood, as rogues tend to do. It's the kind of place that somehow fosters a warm atmosphere between friends and among strangers. Maybe it's the staff. Go twice and they'll remember your face. Third time they know your name and drink. The food's a cut above standard pub fare, too (especially the Irish dishes, of course). The crowd's young and pretty when it should be (try Thursday night), and more weathered when you'd expect (earlier in the day/week). I've taken friends and work parties there, all with great success. And yep, gone there by myself too, but never been alone. See you there!

One night a week my husband and I seek out a good meal and drinks. We never know which way it will go. Well, the Irish Rogue was a great choice. Their happy hour is from 11 AM until 8 PM, I believe. Anyway, I had a couple of margaritas that were absolutely delicious. They were the real thing; not mixer type with that powdery aftertaste. I also had the Chicken PotPie with a pastry puff which was simply delicious. Our server, Kerri, although busy with a group of about 25, still treated us as if we were her only customers. TV's are everywhere and the place is spacious. My husband ventured upstairs and said it was amazing and he would like to sit up there on our next visit. Highly recommended !!!

so i was walking around looking for a fun happy hour bar and met a girl outside the irish rogue... she told us all the great happy hour specials (how could you turn down a good happy hour??)... so we decided to go in and check it out. It was a huge bar with tons of huge flat screen TV's (showing any game you could ever watch)... Anyway, it turns out we wound up staying all night and met so many great people ate great food (burgers, nachos?? awsome)... the staff was so helpful and so much fun. We had alot of laughs and felt like we were at a close to home kinda place. The atmosphere is so warming and its a great place to lounge around and be as comfortable as possible... and the couches they have there??? probly the most comfortable i have ever sat on. I can't wait for football season to start... so for anyone and everyone looking for a bar in NYC thats fun and relaxing as well as gives you that close to home sort of feel in the big city, i highly recommend The Irish Rogue!!!

have fun!!!!

Ratings_icons Where's the staff?

I used to enjoy going to the rogue a lot. It's a great after work spot with a good selection of beers. I've found lately that the entire staff that I used to enjoy has been almost completely replaced. What a dissapointment. I think I'll head to the House of Brews or Joshua Tree from now on. I think a staff that can appreciate regulars is a must for any neighborhood pub.

Pros: good selection, good place to watch sports

Cons: where did all the fun people go?

Ratings_icons Great Party Room

johnfhogan

Besides all the obvious wonderful things about The Rogue, chronicled in other reviews on this site, they have a very comfortable and functional party room, which my group has used several times. The management and staff do everything to make our parties enjoyable and they succeed magnificently. They even serve their famous chicken potpie up there. My only hesitation about this recommendation is that we might find the room booked when we schedule our next party.

I have been going to The Rogue for a bit over a year, and it is one of the most refreshing additions to our neighborhood. It is a great place to stop in and have a drink or more with friends, and they have a nice upstairs bar area for private parties. The staff treat you like family; they are among the nicest group I have experienced in any establishment. I have brought numerous friends and family, even my 83 year-old mother, and all of us appreciated the atmosphere, staff, service, menu, and drinks. Having lived in the neighborhood over 15 years, I have to say it is one of the best additions in memory.

Pros: Friendly, Inexpensive, Near Mass Transit

In the Rogue for my friends birthday last Christmas and it was wonderful. It felt like I was in someones sitting room couches & candles all over, even my boyfriend commented on how cool the place was! They had an XBOX & a pool table! I thought the birthday girl must have worked all afternoon decorating the place, but she told me the manager sorted everything out, she didn't worry about a thing it was just done. I have since booked & had my birthday& a corporate party in the lounge and know first hand how they look after each detail so far as to introduce you to the bartender working your event. Everything they do is so easy but yet done so well. Its true what they say about the hospitality of the Irish other bars in 'hells kitchen' should take a leaf out of the Irish rogues book.

Pros: lounge , xbox & pool table, great event planning

Cons: 1 floor down to smoke

Ratings_icons Friendly staff, cool place

Stopped by this place on a Wed with my girlfriend. The bartenders were very friendly and while they need to be as they are a new place trying to establish a clientele, it was still nice to see. It has 2 levels, the lower level has about 8 flat screens for game watching and the upper level has a pool table, some couches and a dart board. The food menu is pretty diverse. They were playing cool music over their sound system although it was a little loud. Prices are reasonable.

Pros: Service

I was recently at a private party in the upstairs lounge & i melted into the couches, for such a nice place in midtown i was expecting it to be expensive but i was pleasantly surprised, all pints $5 & martinis were reasonable too. Our bartenders were so nice & actually took time to converse with us didn't just give the regular bartender speel. I always use citysearch but this is the first review i have ever taken the time to write, i have lived in ny for 7 years and work in the hotel & catering industry & know this bar deserves recognition for being comfortable, having great service & really is resonabled priced a trait that is not often associated with a bar in manhattan. The irish rogue has evoked all that an irish bar should -great friendly place with down to earth people, good food & drink!

Pros: great fun, love the staff, reasonable

Cons: there aren't enough, locations like this, in manhattan

Ratings_icons quite surprised

have been to the rogue before and always had a great time. they have great prices, great food, and great beer. the music really sucks but the staff is fun. was surprised when i came in sunday to the worst bartender in manhattan. i wish i could remember her name because my buddy and i were ignored and treatly badly by her. the bar was dead and she spent the entire time with her boyfriend, and we couldn't even get a drink. she also had the worst voice i've ever heard except maybe 'the nanny.' if it was my first time here i never would have come back, but since i've been here plenty and the other bartenders, irene and stefanie have always been great i'll just have to check who is owrking before i come in. i will not be back when she is working.

Pros: good food, good beer , good prices

Cons: sucky bartender

Being an event planner for MTV Networks has afforded me the opportunity to traverse the city's bar/resturant/and club scene quite frequently. From my travels, no spot has yet settled with me better than the Irish Rogue. From its pleasent and sexy bartendars, to its inviting atmosphere, to its Monday night wings specials... I can't help but feel like I am re-living an episode from "Cheers" everytime I come in. I have seen some great live bands and DJs here as well as enjoyed a few private yet entertaining parties in there upstairs VIP lounge. All and all, I would highly recommend the Irish Rogue to anyone. It is a place truly for everyone! I have brought family, friends, co-workers, clients, and celebrities alike to this spot. I tip my hat to the excellent mangement staff there.

Pros: Great Wait Staff, A+ Private Lounge, Stylish & Sporty Bar

Cons: No Coors Light, Crowded Patio Seating, Few Buy Backs

Hands down The Irish Rogue has the best happy hour in the city (4 dollar cosmos??)! But that's not all... they also have REAL PINTS!!! It's my new bar, home away from home. Not only is it a great place to quench your thirst, but it's got good eats too. Brought my family there pretheatre when they were visiting the city and we were accomadated beautifully. Even my mom liked the food (and she's a picky eater!) They have an upstairs lounge too, which might be the spot for my birthday party this year, it's soooo nice! Rumor has it that they are getting a pool table within the week up there too... All in all, one of the best bars in the city!

Pros: Happy hour, Good Food, Great prices
