Sarah Cairns was amazing. When I came in for my sports massage, I was experiencing terrible back, shoulder, and arm pains. I had received a massage a week earlier, but didn't see any results. Sarah really worked with me on my problem areas

I just had a massage with John Paul and all i have to say is it was AWESOME!
I went in with major cramps in my hip, lower back and shoulder area and boy did he know what to do.
This is not the fluffy type of massage place. John Paul really paid attention to my body and really relieved me of my discomfort and for this i am grateful!
He also offered me a great deal on a 4 massage-package after my buy one get one free treatment. Considering the value of the service provided it was really a steal!
I'm definitely going to be a regular now.

Massage Therapist: Oriel Straker.
This review is long overdue... I've had 3 massages from Oriel and I must say she is the bomb. I had a car accident a while back and I need to make this a more regular visit but with my crazy schedule it can be very difficult.
This last massage I waited abit longer than I should have and I was extremely tight in my shoulder area. I was glad that I booked an hour, for she was able to take her time and work my entire body out, which was alot more off it's mark than just the shoulders. It is something that I now know I have to do more often to avoid the tightness that often occurs. So I will be making this a routine.
I highly recommend her to anyone, She is calm and listens when I say stop, which when you are knotted is extremely important.
Sleeping that night was better and i felt well rested the next.
Ok so, now I have figure how to get back every two weeks instead of every month or so....
CJ.

Oriel Straker has healing hands- no kidding! I am a doctoral student working on my dissertation and Oriel has singlehandedly saved me from this process. I sit all day in front of my laptop and therefore my back and neck has become steel and I'm always in pain. But thanks to Oriel's massages I'm in better shape than I would be without them. She has been working on me since she received her license and I have personally experienced her impressive growth as a massage therapist. She is knowledgeable, professional and have a warm personality that makes you feel safe and cared for. I highly recommend Oriel - you will not be disappointed.

The first time I went to Massage America, I was hooked. The atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming, and the staff is phenomenal. Each time I've been to someone different and everyone has their own individual techniques, and very accommodating of your needs and requests. Great prices and specials and excellent service every time. I refer everyone to this place. You can book appointments right online and even within a few hours of your requested time upon availability.

Massage America is the best place for athletes of all ages and skill levels! I got a great massage that eased my sore muscles, and helped me get back into my training. Great for pre-race and recovery. And so many convenient locations! Thank you, Massage America, for getting me back on my feet.

Gregory at Massage America is by far the most talented masseuse I have ever had. I have been to a million spas and Massage America is by far my favorite place in all of Manhattan. They truly care about their clients, know and specialize in every type of massage, the spa is clean and relaxing (they even has ionized water for clients). I have had back pain for years and Gregory is so smart, friendly and willing to mix all types of massage to cater to his clients wants/needs. He is so generous, goes above and beyond and I would recommend him to anyone (I am sure others there are great as well I have just always gone to him). They have specials - definitely take advantage!

this place was amazing. i wasnt a massage person before. in fact, i used to hate them. i thought they hurt, werent relaxing, etc. i got this service as a gift and i didnt want to waste it so my gf forced me to go with her. when i did i was nervous, but within a few minutes they put me at ease and though at first i was a little tense i became sooo much better after a few minutes. when i left i couldnt believe it. i was hooked. and now i have another appointment scheduled already!

I had a wonderful experience at Massage America and highly recommend to anyone who needs to let a little stress float away and feel refreshed. I was quite impressed by the level of profesionalism -- and the ability for the staff to put you at ease. PLUS, the price is right.

Pros: Very professional, lovely enviroment

I get massages frequently but haven't found a spa I really liked since I moved ot NY. This place is great! It was possibly the best massage I've ever had. My back feels so much better already and I can't wait to go back for my free massage!

Pros: Buy one, get one free

I took advantage of the buy your first massage, get the second free. This is a really great spot. The vibe is chill, the music is cool, the lighting is perfect. It's very relaxing. I had a 30 minute massage and felt fantastic afterwards. Check them out.

Pros: Cool setting

Cons: Only 1 of them!

.

Only $50 for an hour of deep tissue. $39 if you prefer swedish. With prices this low, I was afraid the therapists might not be very skilled. But they are.

Massage America is awesome. I have been a regular for three years now. I usually work with Nick, but have worked with other therapists and have always had a great experience. I've tried other resources but choose to work with Massage America because they are super excellent and consistent. Both locations are clean, pro, relaxing and staff is friendly and helpful. \r
\r
I mostly go to the Printing House but have also had massages at the Union Square location. The atmosphere in both locales is classy but relaxed. My massage always begins with the question ""anything I want to work on today?"" As a performing artist, the answer is ""yes!"" Every time, the therapist is tuned in and aware. \r
\r
This place is super artist friendly. Greg, the owner, is excellent with customer service and sympathetic to artist folk all the way. I first learned about Massage America on the Actors Equity website, and I was impressed from day one. Massage America is generous to working actors. As a working, professional actor I have to think about costs and making ends meet, since the arts often mean flux in weekly income. Massage America helps by offering a discount to professional artists, so we can do our thing healthy, ready and wise. \r
\r
My weekly massage helps my performance work and my lifestyle, since auditioning and performing are exciting but can also be demanding with a lot of ""go getter"" drive needed. My massage is ""golden"" time for me. \r
\r
I rave about Massage America to all my friends. They have flexible hours, day and evening at both locations, seven days a week. What more could an actor want to take care of mind, body, spirit? Working with them is a great complement to my other movement and body work (dance, etc.) and lets my muscles relax and heal. \r
\r
I wanted to write this as a thanks to Massage America for being such a great resource for NYC actors and other folk. I look forward to working with you guys in 2009, for sure. Many thanks and Happy New Year.

Cons: WIsh I Could Do it Daily It is That Excellent

I get massages at the Printing House location of Massage America-- you don't have to be a member of PH to book a massage. When I want a ""fixing"" massage (as opposed to just soothing), I book with Brandt or Nick. Leah is great for the relaxing kind of Swedish massage. The rooms are lovely, everything is professional and on time. Massage America's prices are better than most places. I also find that the therapists will try their best to work on specific problems (like my Achilles tendon!), will adjust music or temperature or whatever you need to make it a great massage. Only wish I could afford to go every week!

I can't recommend Massage America enough. I've been a client for 7 years. I've had numerous massages all around the world and none have compared to M. America. I recommend Greg (the owner), Brandt or Nick. I tend to stick with the guys because they give a deeper massage than women.\r
\r
In regards to the review below - I've never had any ""customer service"" issues. It could have very well been an ""off day"" for whoever answered the phone, but I assure you that everyone there cares. It's the nicest enviornment and very friendly. Greg has gone out of his way numerous times to adjust his schedule for me. And they are very in-tuned with your body.\r

Pros: skilled staff

This place is phenomenal. I had a massage with Michael and he did an amazing job. I have common back pains from siting in my office chair for 12 hours a day, as well as arm pains from typing at the keyboard. He focused on the problem areas and I walked out feeling like a new person. I highly recommend this place.

This place is just awful!. Zero customer service and they just dont have a clue. I had to wait 45 minutes even though i had a reservation and not a single apology from their staff. The services are EXTREMELY poor compared to the prices they charge...\r
Save your money and go somewhere else. Trust me!

How does this place have 4.5 stars if no one has reviewed it???? This is only the second time i have ever written a review, but you all need to be warned!! This was the worst massage i have ever received. Ever. The woman had bad technique (going back and forth over the spine, using her very long acrylic nails, etc.) And the next day I had serious shooting pain, (not muscle soreness!!) unable to walk pain. It's been over a week and it's not much better-- I'm seeking medical attention! I had complained to management only to have them give me excuse after excuse as to why this happened. What it really comes down to is if management hired someone like this then they are not to be trusted either. I'm sure others have been disappointed and just thought it was a one time thing, or they didn't want to take the time to review it. Please step forward other patrons!! Let's try to save someone elses time, money, and physical health.
