I highly recommend this organization! They are a NO-KILL animal shelter, offering a place for animals to stay when no one else can care for them. The adoption "fees" (aka donations) are well worth the support you can offer to these fine people. This shelter will NOT sacrafice the life of one animal in order to free up the kennel. They accept all kinds of donations including laundry detergent, blankets, and animal food. They even offer discount certificates to help with the neuter & spay costs of personal animals.

Ayres Shelter is a no-kill shelter so they usually have a full house. When you go, the staff is always friendly and can tell you the good and bad habbits of most of the animals there. You can take most of the animals out of the cages (they ENCOURAGE this) sothat you can get to knwo them or just give them some people time. The cost for adopting a new pet for your family is about $40 and this goes back into the shelter to help new animals. They ahve a small gift area where you can buy pet themed gifts. The proceeds go to help defray the costs of the shelter.

We have adopted several new family members from Ayres. The people are friendly and they know each individual animal, which to us means they spend quality time with the animals. They have you fill out papers and do a good background check before they will let your new family member go home. We hope to adopt from here again int he future.

We adopted one of our cats here (we have 5 now). They were extreemly pleasant to work with and gave excellent suggestions on the temperment of each animal we inquired about. They even tested thier dog compatability since we also have 2 dogs at home. It cost $40 to adopt our cat, but we were planning on donating to the shelter anyway so we gave them $60 to help the pets they are still looking for homes for.

I got my dog Onyx from Ayers Shelter. They are a no kill shelter which means the animals can be there for quite a while. The people there try to make it a good experience for the animals and many times foster them out so they can become even more adoptable. The people there really care about the snimals and make sure that they aren't always cooped up.
