I depended on this service in the past, however, refuse to use them in the future, as I don't feel that they thoroughly check the safety of the providers. At one backup daycare they provided for me, I witnessed a full childrens pool, with a 2 year old toddling around it alone, with provider inside the house. My daughter was barefoot, feet bleeding with blisters, walking on the dirty floor, and outside among dog poop. The provider told me, "I don't care if they write me up, the inspector is a friend of mine". She came home one night with heat exhaustion, and each day of the two weeks she was there, begged me for a drink when I picked her up. On the other hand, my regular daycare has provided excellent care for two years. She has a beautiful outdoor play area for the children- a deck and a fenced yard. The fence was built to specs when she was licensed. Suddenly, the council decided the fence was inadequate, and threatened to pull her licence. Feeling that the council is not worthy of looking out for the children's well being, where it counts, my provider has forfeited her license. This is disgraceful, as she has this business in her heart, and deeply loves and cares for children. This is my child's second home. She eats healthy meals, loves to play in the age appropriate yard, and learned the letters, numbers, and colors & shapes before the age of 2. She is treated with TLC, that I don't beleive I will have an easy time finding elsewhere, especially since the council is not capable of finding such important things necessary.

.

a great resource and referral agency for childcare. They generally know who in the county has opening in thier centers. The staff is friendly and very helpful to parents.
The only negative is that there is very few childcare facilities which serve children with special emotional and behavioral needs.
