1 Stars: Create-A-Cake has bad cookies (by teddy r.)

Many years ago when they first opened their cakes tasted like they came from a mix. I returned today to try a marbled cookie with a dab of chocolate. it was 1.75 and it was the worst one i have ever tasted. and I consider myself a cookie maven. surprised they are still in business. glad i didn't buy anything else

1 Stars: Empty Promises (by dee d.)

They make promises they cannot keep. They said they could do a metallic gold cake when in fact they couldn't. I wish they would have been honest and not promised a cake color when my whole party theme revolved around this color.
Sadly, my cake arrived and it was YELLOW with flour smears all over it and the lettering was not professional I wanted a stencil block letter and what I received was a poorly handwritten one.
Horrible!!!! and of course, when I called no one was available to fix it.

1 Stars: wedding cake disaster (by Emily M.)

First time my fiance and i went for oue schedueled cake consultation we sat there for 20 minutes until someone came to tell us that woman who does the wedding cakes wasnt coming in that day. When we did have a consult they told us they couldnt do our design, so after several other meetings we came to an agreement to have the cake coated in edible sugar glitter. Pictures i had seen of the look appeared as though the were made of snow. There was supposed to be deep red piping at the base of the layers. When i saw the cake the day of the wedding, it didnt appear to shimmer at all. I went up to it, there entire bare patches, and the spatula marks were beyond visible, the "red bead pipping" was orange/pink and not beaded. Ok, my florist decorated the cake, iot tasted good no one knew the difference. But when i called to ask what happened (figuring i'd give them benefit of the doubt before posting negative feedback, maybe a little apology) they told me i was wrong, they gave me exactly what i wanted..blah blah. Total attitude. I told her i had pictures and could show her how it wasnt as she claimed it was. She said i was wrong and hung up on me. All she had to do was apologize but instead i was given attitude. HORRIBLE customer service. Rude employees and terrible cake design. WOULD NOT RECOMEND.

4 Stars: Benkert's Bakery (by Kathie R.)

Benkert's has been in Great Neck for many generations. I first was introduced to their wonderful butter cookies and was hooked forever. Their breads and cakes are also wonderful and every holiday they always have holiday themed mini cakes.

Benkert's is great.

4 Stars: Kosher Ring Ding cakes?!! (by Douglas B.)

My first time there was tough because there is only street parking, but once inside you are taken over by the sweet smell of success. The pastries, breakfast rolls, custom cakes are all amazing, but the one that stole my heart was their world class ring ding style cake. If there was a another way to knock your grandmothers socks off this sunday, here is your solution. Get there and enjoy.

3 Stars: average bakery (by Jill S.)

While everything in the glass cases at this bakery always looks incredible, somehow whatever I select always seems to be mediocre. They sell lots of cakes, cookies, Italian pastries and donuts. Once we bough a seven layer cake that was not very fresh and when we mentioned it to the manager, they gave us another one for free. They're good with customer service. This place is also in a huge shopping center where there is a lot of parking.
