Most recent trip to Pane's (and we go often) was a pleasure! My husband had the spaghetti and meatballs and I had the Tortellini. Both were delicious. I loved the slightly tangy sauce. Portions were plentiful and the warm bread was wonderful. Very enjoyable evening.

We have been there twice in the last 5 days. Neither visit was good. Tonight topped it off when my wife and I ordered wings and pizza. You see, we have been coming there for years as my wife grew up in North Tonawanda, but tonight was disappointing. The sausage on the pizza has been changed from their incredibly tasting sliced sausage to a groung hamburger with no taste. The peporoni was tasteless and generic and did not crisp up like in the past. We ordered the wings extra crispy and medium Buffalo style. They came out not crispy and had to be sent back, They returned the order crispy but with absolutely no flavor, Our visit befoe was not memorable either. Something has changed at Pane's. The meat quality and taste has gone down hill.

I went to the restaurant with 4 other adults for a birthday celebration. Our meals were served ontime, but two of them were cold and one HAD to be sent back to be heated. Then came the coup de gras,we ordered 4 dishes of spumoni and halfway through my mother-in-law [ 85 years old ] took something from her mouth and we examined it.It was a upholstery tack that was freshly put in the spumoni [ fresh cut metal ! ] and the manager when called on it could only muster a " not our fault" could NOT have been the restaurants fault.Calling me a lair, well if my sister-in-law had not intervened I would have called him a a$$hole and paid and left.He took off one meal and the tainted spumoni.I am of the opinion that was not enough, and I am NOT a lair !!.I will not be back - ever !.Having been customers for decades - guess he lost !.

We invited a neighbor, she had never been there, and the food was absolutely delicious, the bread was warm with crunchy crust, and our entrees were so generous, we all needed containers to take home what couldn't be finished. This restaurant is consistently well staffed, and we love being able to depend upon their quality. Staff are knowledgeable and polite, very appreciative of their well deserved tip.

First, the food. The salad and bread were just ok, nothing special. The bread was warm but had no body. I ordered the chicken parmesan with gnocchi. The chicken parm itself wasn't bad, but the sauce....oh my! It tasted like they opened up a can of tomato puree, added some basil and called it sauce. Awful. Truly awful. The gnocchi were advertised on the menu as homemade. Not so. They were the same "homemade" gnocchi you can buy at the supermarket in a bag for $1.39. Payne's charges $11.00+ for it. With the awful sauce, thank you very much.

The waitress brought the food and disappeared. She came back only to take our dessert order and later to bring the bill. Not once did she inquire if everything was ok, if we needed anything or even offer a second cup of coffee, although the menu states that they give complimentary refills on coffee. After paying the bill and leaving her a $35 tip we never saw her again.

One waitress walked by our table (not our waitress) and we asked what time they closed. She never even blinked in our direction. A second waitress was cleaning off the next table to us so we asked her the same question. Again, no response. She never stopped bussing the table or turned around.

All in all, not a good experience. We won't be returning.

Pane?s has been serving food in North Tonawanda for years. The menu has grown over time. Right now I don?t like some of the entrees n the menu. I prefer sticking to their basics; like their pizza, fish fry and chicken wings. Enjoying a meal here really depends on what you order. I wish they would condense the menu.
