We were a party of five on March 22, 2008. We have dined at highly rated restaurants before and have not had an experience comparable to the one at Wheatfields. Despite having a 7 pm reservation and warned that it would only be held for 15 minutes, we waited for our table. The first three wines we requested were not in stock and only found this out after the waitperson checked and came back three times. The fourth choice was served and after it was consumed, we found out was the only bottle of that type in stock. This happened despite the fact that we asked her to check and see if there was a second bottle before this one was opened and served. The waitperson was unable to recommend a similar wine and had to consult the bartender for a recommendation. Two of our five entrees were overcooked to the point of being inedible. Then, to top off our experience, a member of the waitstaff proceeded to vacuum the dining area at 8:40 pm, around and under chairs of seated patrons. We would this to be extremely unprofessional and distracting. A conversation with one of the managers on duty proved to be less than satisfying as our concerns appeared to have no effect on her. We will not return to Wheatfields and will not recommend it to our friends.

Funny to read the previous reviewers comments as we also dined at Wheat Fields on Saturday night and experienced the same poor service, lackluster food and VACUUMING. I mean really what restaurant have you been to that actively vacuums around diners at 8:45pm when the restaurant is still full of people eating and conversing. It was ridiculous to say the least not to mention all the dust, dirt and other stuff I dont even want to think about that was being pushed into the air and onto our food. Gross! We also spoke to our waitress who apologized but did nothing to stop it from continuing and it last for a good 10 minutes. Now let's talk about the food we received ample portions but much of it was lacking in flavor and my companion's entree was overcooked not to mention lukewarm. With so many great places to eat in Saratoga not to mention the capital district, there is no need to frequent such a lackluster restaurant as Wheat Fields.

Cons: service, food and value

In general I would not say this is one of the best restaurants in Saratoga. However, for those of you who are on a gluten free diet, you can order any pasta dish to be made with rice pasta and they will check the sauces for you to make sure there is not gluten. It is one of the only sit down restaurants I know of in the area where this is a possibility so if you're gluten free check out Wheatfields!

Not the greatest italian food that I've ever had. The food was ok but it took forever to get seated and longer to be served. However, the lasagna is huge and was very good.

For a while I had been told that Wheatfield's had great food. I was disappointed with my pasta dish - it was entirely unremarkable and the meat served with it was dry. The service was decent, but in no way made up for the disappointing food.

Wheatfield's has recently expanded their restaurant, adding and extensive bar. Atmosphere is perfect, but I have not necessarily enjoyed my meals. Shrimp scampi was sub-par. Wine list is extensive.

Being right on Broadway is a big plus during the summer. Sidewalk seating along with the BEST bread in Saratoga makes this one of my favorites.

The big draw at this establishment, opened in 1988, has always been pasta---angel hair, fettuccine, linguine, radiatore, tagliatelle, ravioli, gnocchi and ziti---all made in-house. Chef Gabriel Anthony Bifano's food is solid and…
