This place is my favorite. Great food, inexpensive drinks and a fun atmosphere. A must 'eat at' on your way to a River 2 River concert down at the Seaport. After work/happy hour is busy during the week, but come over the weekend for the almighty brunch.

a must for brunch

you can't get a better deal in lower manhattan, close to the seaport, but not too touristy, just a nice spot for a weekend brunch, with outside seating, or a little more comfy setting upstairs, prices to my liking. besides brunch, good way to relax after work with a few co=workers, or just some of the local riff-raff

This unique restaurant by the seaport makes for an amzing time. I highly recommend you visit this place when downtown.

seaport's best - great food and location

this is one of the seaport's hidden secrets - a cool, easygoing bar in peck slip. the food is great, the staff is really friendly and the drink prices are lower than average. a great spot to spend a few hours playing scrabble, watching football, playing WII, whatever. outdor seating and dog-friendly. love this place.

Gotta Get to Meades!

Meade's is an awesome place to go for a drink to forget about your day and just have fun. The staff is incredible - Kathleen, Chano Izzy and Frank you'll never find them without a smile. If you show up as many times a week as I do they'll have your drink ready before you even have to ask for it!
As for the food, compliments to the Chef's Angel and Carlos, you'll never get a bad meal.
As for the multitude of games they've got you can pick your favorites, but show up on a Sunday night you might just have a chance at beating Lee at Mario Kart or the Olympics - but I wish you luck!
Bottom line you can't go wrong at Meade's!

Great Local Bar, with just enough randoms...

Meade's is a great local's place, even though it's close to the Seaport. The drinks are always good, happy hour is a great deal, and brunch on the weekends... well simply put, brunch is an amazing time. The bartenders (Kathleen, Chano, Frank, & Izzy) are super friendly... and if you find yourself there as often as I do, you'll end up calling them your friends too.
If you are looking for a chill night, Meade's is the perfect place. They even have games like Scrabble, Taboo, and Connect Four if you are in the mood for some competition. Plus on Sunday nights they play games on the Wii! Lee's good, but I've beaten him in Mario Kart. Seriously, what more could you ask for! I do miss the pool table though...

great outdoor space!

Just had a fantastic lunch (under $10), which included choice of soup or salad with the entree. Best lunch downtown- where else can you get a nice sit-down meal for $10? And with outdoor seating and a view of the Brooklyn Bridge to boot, I highly recommend this neighborhood spot.

Neigborhood bar

New York needs more bars like Meade's. real down to earth place where you can hang out with friends or a girlfriend and relax. A neighborhood place that is just as easy going for non locals as it is for locals. Don't let the Restaurant title confuse you it is really more of a bar complete with pool table upstairs. The food is very good and underpriced, so I suggest going there before they figure that out. On a nice day nothing beats a beer or a glass of wine outside at Meade's and a great view of the Brooklyn bridge.

Cons: small, AC is only upstairs.

To all you nonbelievers the Seaport really is BUMPIN and no place gets you more twisted than Meades. Although I'd like to keep this and surrounding places a secret as to keep them all to myself I just can't help myself from spreading the word . You have to check out the Happy Hour! Great drinks, great drink specials, fantasticly fresh oysters and clams brought in daily, and all served up by an incredibly friendly and welcoming staff. JUST WAIT TIL THEY GET OUTDOOR SEATING!
