I had my cat neutered here. The day of the operation, when my partner stopped to check on the cat, the receptionist was extremely rude and argumentative. When I came back to pick up the cat the next day she berated me for five minutes

Dr Longo is one of the best vets I have ever visited. When I pick my cats up after procedures, I can tell that they have been treated well. The doctor has great vet skills, and has a kindness about her that is so important for the animal and the owner!

I have been bringing my dog to Narrows for quite some time. After trying out many other vets, I finally found Dr. Longo, a vet I could trust and that understands me and of course my dog. My dog was always treated with exceptional care, and expertise. Having 4 children, he has gotten into many things throughout the years. She always was precise and quick to diagnose him. I love going there and so does my dog! I would never bring him anywhere else!!!

I am shocked to read some of these negative reviews. I find them to be completely false. I have been bringing my 2 cats to Dr. Longo for many years and have nothing but wonderful things to say about Dr. Longo and Narrows Animal Hospital. The staff is professional and friendly, and the office is kept completely clean. Dr. Longo is highly competent and I have recommended dozens of friends to her, who have had the same experience as myself and have been above and beyond satisfied. Lastly, there prices are reasonable and affordable.

I have been bringing my cats and dogs to Dr. Longo for many years. She is an extremely knowledgeable and compassionate veterinarian. I have always been able to contact Dr. Longo and she has been more than willing to discuss all necessary tests and treatments with me. She is a TRUE ANIMAL LOVER. We love Dr. Longo and the entire staff at Narrows Animal Hospital!!

I am very shocked to read all the negative reviews about Dr. Longo & Narrows Hospital. I had been taking my 2 dogs there for 10 years or more. They began seeing Dr. Savala who I thought was an excellent doctor. She was very kind and was easy to contact when I had questions. My first dog was diagnosed with an enlarged heart and I was told to watch him and report back to her. Unfortunately he passed away approx. 6 months later at the age of 12. When Dr. Savala left, I was concerned about having a new doctor for my dog but Dr. Longo was excellent. My second dog who was 12 at the time was also diagnosed with an enlarged heart. Dr. Longo put him on medication and we watched him carefully and he lived another 2 years to the age of 14. I was very disappointed that Dr. Savala did not prescribe medication for my first dog or I could have had him a few more years. I wish Dr. Longo was there when he was diagnosed. When my second dog got sick about a year ago, I had to take him to the hospital on Warren Street. He was in an oxygen cage overnight and I called Dr. Longo the next day to tell her what was going on. She called the hospital and talked to the doctor who was caring for my dog and recieved all the x-rays and info on him. I had to make the decision of whether or not to let him go and I called Dr. Longo at least 5 times that day asking for her opinon and she took my call every time and was very patient. Both Dr. Long and the Dr. from the hosptial felt it was time to let him go so I had to make that decision. My dog was a biter when he was scared but that never deterred Dr. Longo and Michelle from hugging and kissing him and being so sweet to him. Liz has worked there for years and has always been kind to me and loving to my animals. I have never had a bad experience with Dr. Longo or anyone at this office. I'm sorry for the people who have had bad experiences but that can happen anywhere. I don't have one bad thing to say about Dr. Longo or any of the staff.

Cons: None

Dr. Longo allowed me to give my baby a proper and dignified goodbye. I was able to stay with her and take all the time I needed to be with her when she passed.

Dr. Longo was also very helpful. When I told her that I didn't have the money to pay for their expensive procedures, she gave me alternatives.

After reading all of the reviews, I was a little surprised. If I had read these before, I would have probably taken my kitty elsewhere. But I did not have that convenience.

Dr. Longo seemed to be very knowledgable and took all precautions.

This is not a good place to ake care of your dog, cat, bird etc.
The vet Dr. Longo is not experienced enough to properly care for your pets.
The place is also dirty and that means more of a risk for your pet.
I have heard bad things about this place and they all turned out to be true.
Just go somewhere else.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Avoid this vet. PLEASE AVOID Dr. Longo
Everyone who wrote on this site about this place is so true.

I am in tears as I write this because of what my cat had to go through because Dr. Nicole Longo misdiagnosed him.
He was sent home with antibiotics when infact he had stones.
She didn't want to take xrays or give a true examination.
Don't let this happen to your pet.

This place should be closed down!!!
It is not a place to bring animals because the service is terrible, Dr. Longo is a complete disgrace and was not able to properly care for my dog. She cost me a bundle of money and did nothing for us.
When you have a question or concern, there is no help whatsoever.
Not a good place....it is scary!!!!

I agree with the others who wrote on this site. Narrows Animal Hospital and Dr. Nicole K. Longo are hazzards to the well being of animals.

I had a similar experience where my dog and cat were both not treated correctly for their medical problems.

This should never be the case. Also they are so overpriced and will continue to take your hard earned money if you allow them to.

I have wrote this to advise anyone and everyone to steer clear of this place.

I am writing this to tell everyone in Brooklyn, NY to BEWARE of DR. NICOLE LONGO and Narrows Animal Hospital.
She misdiagnosed an illness my cat had which caused him and my family much suffering and expense.
He was near death and DR LONGO did not see this.
She is a disgrace to the vetenarian profession!!!!
Go elsewhere but not here.

I would NOT RECOMMEND this vet to anyone who truly cares for their pet. DR. LONGO is NOT experienced enough to give a proper diagnosis. She is always wrong and almost killed my dog from a misdiagnosis.
You cannot get in touch with the doctor when their is an emergency.
The receptionists are no help and more often rude than not.
There are many experienced caring vets in Bay Ridge Brooklyn.....FOR YOUR PETS OWN GOOD, STAY AWAY FROM DR. NICOLE LONGO AND NARROWS ANIMAL HOSPITAL!!!!!

This is the worst vet I have ever been to. They nearly MURDERED MY DOG due to misdiagnosis.
Dr Longo is without a doubt not qualified to diagnois or treat your pet.
She have no clue and will send your pet home without the proper care.
The staff is rude, not helpfull at all and when you try to get in contact with the doctor, even for an emergency, she will never take your call!!!!!!!

PLEASE, FOR YOUR PETS OWN GOOD STAY FAR AWAY FROM DR. LONGO AND NARROWS ANIMAL HOSPITAL IN BAY RIDGE BROOKLYN!!!!!

I brought my dog in to see DR. NICOLE LONGO because he was having problems urinating. She sent him home with antibiotics and said he would be fine. He was not fine and SHE ALMOST CAUSED HIM TO DIE!!!
I brought him to another vet who had him rushed to the animal emergency center on Warren St. for emergency procedures.
His bladder almost exploded and he would have died.
BEWARE OF DR LONGO AND ANYONE ASSOCIATED WITH NARROS ANIMAL HOSPITAL IN BAY RIDGE BROOKLYN!!!

I brought my kitten in because he was lathargic, not eating, not playing. Turns out he was running a high fever which did not go down even with the prescribed meds. The doctor admitted him and he was in for a week! They took excellent care of him- even let us visit! My cat has been healthy ever since!

I brought my newly-rescued cat in to treat congestion and fever. We'd never used this place before. The doctor was courteous, friendly and honest. This is the first vet I've been to in Bay Ridge that did not push a battery of very expensive tests. The doctor and her tech did not keep the stressed kitty on the table for any longer than needed or us in the office for any longer than needed. The office is warm and the receptionist is pleasant. Good experience!

I brought my neutered 4 year old male cat in when it was clear he could not urinate. The vet (i don't remember her name) pushed down on his bladder, which he produced a full stream of urine. She informed us he didn't have a blockage (because of the full stream) and after the 5 minute exam, gave us meds and told us to take him home- even though he wasn't producing urine on his own at all and was walking around like he had to go still. We had to convince them to keep him overnight. The next day, we call and are told he still hasn't produced urine on his own- and if he didn't, they were going to keep him another night (now they want to observe him?), which is what ended up happening. We called the next day, he's urinating on his own, he's fine, come get him to take home (even though they didn't have the blood work or sediment test results at that time) We take him home, he produced *LITERALLY* a pin drop of urine every time he went. We ended up taking him to an emergency vet the next day because he was growling in the litterbox, and then hiding directly after. He also wasn't eating, drinking or playing at all and it was apparent he was in severe pain as he walked very slow and deliberate.
Turns out the stones he had are not visible on x-rays so he had a blockage and with a heavy build up of stones. Given that some stones aren't visible via xray- you think it might have been mentioned "hey- he still could have a blockage and we may not be able to tell how bad because some stones don't show on xrays".(which is what the emergency place said) Look, it happens- it's not the vet's fault, but don't tell me he's perfectly fine now and not mention the possibilities.
