I have only ever gone for breakfast to this tiny place located on Main Street, and every time I love it. The omelettes are great and the prices are amazing for a poor college kid aka they are cheap.

The breakfast here is always great and whenever ever I go there is the longest line waiting to eat. They have a power bowl with oatmeal and fruit that is great and everything else on their menu is good. It is a cute place and its a great environment.

Although the Bistro has a vast menu with many vegetarian items, their specialty is their breakfasts. On weekends there are often people waiting outside to be seated. It is worth the wait! There are always several unique specials of the day as well as the normal fare, pancakes, french toast, eggs, homemade oatmeal and limitless coffee. The prices are very reasonable and the service is excellent.

A great place to meet friends or get fortified before a busy day of activities!

The Bistro is conveniently located on Mainstreet in New Paltz (hence the name). Whether you want to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner you will not be disappointed. They have a great menu for any meal. My favorite time is for a weekend breakfast. The place is small and popular so you may have to wait especially if you are a bigger party, but it is worth the wait. The veggie burger is to die for!

Service is either great or lacking, the food is pretty good, soups are excellent and sandwiches are creative. Vegetarian options are plentiful, and carnivores are also happy. The only thing that I have had that wasn't good was the dessert, stick with the specials and avoid the bars (brownies, etc).

Parking is on the street or in the small lot behind. This place gets PACKED and LOUD on weekends, and you will usually wait for a table for breakfast.

Pros: vegetarian options, great coffee, DIY attitude, creative sandwiches

Cons: loud, busy, service can be iffy, not always clean

While visiting the area, I went to this restaurant for the vegetarian options on the menu. I was highly disappointed with the food, service, and atmosphere. My friend (a non-vegetarian) was equally dissatisfied.

My waitress was extremely rude (an understatement). The customers were rowdy and crammed together. The volume was off the charts. The food was greasy. Dishes were clanking in the kitchen. The staff shouted back and forth to one another.

If you are a vegetarian who embraces all principles of ethical living, or a human being who embraces kindness, this place is not for you. I will definitely not return.

Pros: None

Cons: Poor Food, Awful Service, No Parking

No trip to NP is complete without a stop at the Bistro, where strung-out college kids, grungy rock-climbers and Eddie Bauer yuppies meet over burgers. Brunch here is prime--order anything involving a tortilla and you'll be set for the day.
