This salon is the most welcoming salon i have ever been to. I have been there a couple of times. There spa is beautiful and relaxing. I have been to a couple of stylist as well and they all have been very nice and they all gave me what I asked for. Very professional and talented people.
The negative comments below that I seen are accusations that are horrible.

Thumbs up to cactus salon!!!

Written on 1-12-11. During the last week of December I brought my daughter there for a haircut and style (she's 12, not that it really matters but just to give you some context). My daughter has very long hair. They scheduled her with Desiree (not sure of the spelling) and right away as soon as Desiree came to the front I knew she was no good. First of all she did not introduce herself at all. The lady at the front sort of put the two of them together. I had explained earlier to the woman at the front desk that my daughter was going to be getting her very FIRST hair salon haircut and I wanted it to be a nice exerience for her. She had been going through some very difficult times in her life and I thought she deserved it. (I had always cut her hair myself) So anyway, I started to explain to Desiree what we wanted and then, just like that, she started talking to someone else! She completely ignored me and my daughter and sort of led her over to the sink area, all while still talking to the other person. And then the shampoo lady just sort of took over from there. Desiree disappeared in the back. My daughter said "don't worry mom, I'll explain what I want to her" I had to run down the street for a bit to get something and then when the haircut was all done and i came back to pick up my daughter she (thankfully) was very happy with the haircut. They cut off quite a bit, probably 8 inches from the bottom and she got long bangs. Sooo went I went to pay (it was about $100) Desiree never came to the front with her, never asked if she was happy with it, nothing! I gave gave her a $20 tip because thats what they say is a typical amount around there and I had to go to the back where her station was to give it to her and she barely acknowledged me and then we left. So then a couple days later when I was sitting with my daughter I notice a whole bunch of strands, I should say bunched of hair that were about 2 inches longer than the rest of her hair! I could not believe it! I'm not a professional hairdresser but I would never leave someone's hair like that. All I can say is if your going to have a salon in Woodbury or Syosset and charge high prices for your service then you damn well better provide good service and courtesy to the people.

I had been there before a couple of years ago and i went to someone very skilled in haircutting. I knew she was no longer there because the last time i went back she was no longer there and that was like a year ago.

I had a gift certificate to use at this establishment. I wouldn't normally go here, the prices are a little bit more then Im used to. The spa area is in the basement. It has a very relaxing feel to it, although it looked like it was under construction at the time. I had a facial done and it was very relaxing.
