This place in no longer open it closed over a year ago - what a shame the buiding is now empty. It was a great little bookstore in downtown New Paltz. We need another one like that.

5 Stars: Ariel Booksellers Inc. -- Book Haven (by Charles M.)

Ariel Booksellers in New Paltz, NY has a distinct charm in this small town, and it's also very deceiving. Located right beside the Starbucks, it looks like it's a very small store. Of course that's if you try to enter through the doors on Main Street, from where you are promptly instructed to use the main entrance around the corner. Upon entering you then realize how big this store really is.

Everything you have come to familarize yourself with the big name stores like Barnes & Nobles and Borders can be found at Ariel's without a shadow of a doubt. They offer some very good deals, lots of best sellers, lots of discounted books in the back corner of the store, lots of magazines, and a lot of local flavour scattered throughout the store. There are also many greeting cards and other novelty items for sale.

Ariel Booksellers offers a great membership program for those interested in joining the club. Spend $100 worth in merchandise and receive $20 back. What an incentive to keep coming back for more!

This is also a favourite hangout for the many college students who stop by in between classes at Suny College, which is just right down the street.

Having a bookstore like this right beside Starbucks is a marriage made in heaven. Buy a book, get a coffee, and enjoy reading it while relaxing at Starbucks. Perfect environment to exude a small town charm. Even better since no one seems to be in rush to get anywhere fast. It's so much different than living in a big city. You can actually enjoy and relax with this combination.

PROS: Great selections, good incentives, charming
CONS: none

4 Stars: Great Benefits (by C J.)

I like coming to this book store. They offer great deals and the people who work there offer their help all the time. It's even better if you sign up for membership as they offer $20 back for every $100 you spend. This is a nice book store that offers a lot of selections. Even better is buying a book and them going next door to Starbucks to enjoy it and some coffee.
