Since moving to the East Village, I've made the effort to get a falafel sandwich from Cafe Rakka at least once a week. It's so good and so inexpensive. Such a treat!

Hole in the wall, Middle Eastern food. While there are only 4-5 two person tables at this restaurant, their food is delicious. They have the best falafel, and stuffed grape leaves. I also recommend the baba ganoush and the baklava. The pitas are freshly made. They do cater to american tastes by adding french fries to meals... but my overall opinion is that this is a hidden gem.
