I've used these guys a few times, probably because they are inexpensive and close to home. They did a fine job one the fist print I took there. Then the second print was framed with a mat that was too small, hiding the border of a Japanese

He did a great job stretching and framing an oil painting and framing a large format photograph. I believe he used museum glass on the photograph without charging me for it. Done on time. The prices were more reasonable that I've gotten

He did very good work framing a show for me (although one 30" X 40" mysteriously disappeared because of what I was told was a "water leak" from an apartment upstairs. I had to reprint it at the last minute and he framed it for me for free. Looking at another review about lost work here now, I wonder what actually happened, especially after my next experience.

I asked him to cut a mat and ship it to a gallery on the West Coast, which he agreed to do, taking my credit card information, as well as all the particulars for the gallery. But then, about three weeks later, the gallery contacts me, wondering where the mat was. He'd never sent it. This made me look really bad to the gallery and was very embarrassing, which is something no artist needs.

I called to ask him about it and left two messages for him, which he simply never returned. I guess he just didn't want to deal with it. At least he didn't charge my credit card. Afterward, I found another framer I'd used before, who did the job very quickly.

Ask yourself, with all the very professional framers in New York City, why would you take a chance with this guy? I know I'll never go back there.

Pros: They can do very good work

Cons: Totally irresponsible

I took 7 paintings to be framed and they did such a fantastic job in all of them. I have never been happier with the job. Five stars is not enough for this business, More people should go there. My framed pictures look great in my home.

They lost a watercolor and have been unwilling and unhelpful in providing restitution for the painting. I now have to take them to small claims court to resolve the matter. One star is too much for this company.

Exceptionally professional and friendly staff that offered very reasonable prices. As an employee of a major art museum, I acknowledge have atypically high standards and expectations for framing which I applied in having a piece framed for my personal collection. L & O exceeded my expectations of quailty and cost in every regard. I went to L&O with very specific wants - 8 ply mat, UV plexi, etc. for museum grade framing. The owner immediately suggested all of these materials, before I voiced my desires or my relevant professional knoweldge, indicating his dedication to providing the finest archival quality framing. (In my expereince, most framers suggest lower qualitiy materials for the same price, assuming you don't know what high quality materials are or their price relative to low quality materials.) Moreover, when I tried to describe the particular finish I wanted on the frame, he showed me what I described, a black finish, and an alternative, a dark walnut. The walnut, with beautiful, apparent grain, was what I had envisioned yet failed to fully articulate in my description. His suggestion was more effective at capturing my vision than my own words. So too, did his suggestions for matting reflect my taste. It was clear he was willing to create whatever framing and matting the client desired, but his professional opinions and preferences are above reproach. A true find of a framer! HIghly recommended and will definitely rely upon in the future!
