This is my 2nd year sending my son to this preschool, and it's phenomenal! The teachers and staff are great, very easy to talk to and great with communication. They are honest and that's what I want as teachers for my child, if my child needs help in a specific area they make sure they let you know so you can work with your child to speed up the process of exceeding in those specific areas....I'm a stay at home mom who rarely left my son, so his first year there was his first time really "away" from me, they took care of him being upset and within 2 weeks he LOVED going there. He comes home with projects and learns something new everyday! I could honestly go on and on how this place is great but one of the main reason I LOVE this place, is their way of not only teaching my child "text book" preschool subjects, they also teach my child "old school" respect and manors which I find more important, my son knew the pledge of allegiance within the first 3 weeks.....they also make every holiday super exciting for the kids! I don't trust anyone with my children but I have 100% trust that they have my child's safety and best interest at heart! I see the way my son LOVES them as if they were family. These reviews about people saying anything about "honesty" obviously have problems maybe hearing something they don't want to hear, or having problems stepping up to the plate! I will be sending my daughter here next year!

HORRIBLE!!! It is not a coincidence how many times this owner Patti has been referred to as a liar... She picks and chooses her favorites and if you are not one of them you are in for a lot nonsense from this woman! Everyone who had a negative comment about her took the words right out of my mouth! She is looking out for nobody but herself... And if you get to the point of having to defend your own child, which I would assume any parent would, her true colors really do come out and she is a nasty person!!! I would go into detail about how ignorant of a woman she is in running a preschool, but my problems with HER and her business have actually become a LEGAL issue and I can not get into all the detail unfortunately.... For those who are thinking about sending your kids to this woman's home run business, THINK AGAIN!!! Think two, three, four, five times before sending your kids there if you care about their health, safety, and well being!!!! Worst preschool/owner ever!!!!

I think it's so funny when a person has a negative review and opinion, but signs the review as anonymous. I have been with Patticakes for 3 years now, my daughter graduated last year and this year my son started.Patti noticed some mild behavior problems and suggested I have him evaluated. We began the process and Patti was on board with any decision myself and my husband made. She also suggested I have a SEIT in class with him a that was FINE with her. In the end she was correct. Patti HAS the interest of the child at heart at all times. She had NO issues with me and my contract when we told her we are sending him to a school 5 day a week instead of 2 days (it was March) she wished us well and made his last week a wonderful experience they took class pictures for him, etc. The teachers ARE wonderful, Patti even called me while she was on vacation to see how my meeting went with the district. This is a WONDERFUL school, this is NOT an action of someone who is out for themselves. NO PHONY'S here! The comment about Patti being a liar...how childish is that comment. No one wants to hear something might be wrong with your child but honestly it's not about YOU, money or what people might think, it's about the child and I know we will do what ever it takes so he will have a "normal" school experience. Thanks to Patti and her staff we are sure to make it happen. Thanks Patti you guys are the BEST !!!!

As a parent, do yourself a favor and choose another school. Patti is a liar, she has her own best interest at heart not the child's.

I have read all comments and I am very disappointed in the 3 or 4 negative comments and quite surprised. Having dealt with pre-schools, day cares, elementary and secondary schools for the last 30 years and working as a teacher's aide for a nursery school, I trust my judgment and opinion when meeting teachers and viewing classroom settings. With that said, I find Patti and her staff to be absolutely wonderful in their caring, guidance and teaching techniques. AT first, I will admit, I was concerned about a home-based pre-school.. But I my concerns were immediately dismissed. As a private school, which I believe some parents forget that it is, Miss Patti affords the children the opportunity to grow academically as well as socially and should have the ultimate decision on how she wants to run her classroom. With 12 or 16 children in a classroom, it is her responsibility to take into consideration ALL the children and I do not believe that if there is a child who she feels needs special attention in one way or another, it wouldn't be addressed or that outside educational sources would be denied. Again, as a private school, it should be recognized for the great accomplishment it provides for the children. Patti takes the time and devotion to help provide whatever is needed. But, if a child is being disruptive, harmful to himself or others, or educational needs aren't being acknowledged by the parents, she should have the right to have that child removed from her program. All children have the right to prosper academically and socially, but not at the expense of others. And other thing I don't understand - - why would a parent NOT take notice or action when an educated professional, who has been dealing with children for as many years as Miss Patti, advises that she has concerns or recommendations for their child. Will that same parent be making excuses for their child until high school age. At such a young age, ANY feedback from an outside source, especially a teacher, should be a red flag for action - not the opportunity to insult the intelligence of the director of the pre-school that the parent must have thought was great in the first place since they placed he or she in that school. I could go on and on but the bottom line is this - Miss Patti does not need to be discredited for her concern or recommendations just because the parent does not agree with her experienced, educational opinion. These negative opinions should be viewed as coming from narrow sighted parents who refuse to acknowledge that their child needed something extra whether it is behavioral guidance or educational. As a grandmother, I couldn't be happier or more secure knowing that my grandchildren will be properly ready for kindergarten. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Our son went to Patticakes pre school for a short period of time (3 days) before Miss. Patti decided it was time to label our son with a false diagnosis because of his behaviors in school. Although teachers cannot give a diagnosis she emphasized what she thought my sons diagnosis was over and over again and even compared my son to someone else. I mean false diagnosis by having two different pediatricians carefully review all of our concerns AND those of Miss Patti and they both said how inappropriate it was how things happened while at her school. Apparently her 'opinionated diagnosis" was incorrect and his behaviors were partly due to anxiety... obviously something a pre school teacher should be aware of and they should be warm and nurturing of. I have been a teacher for 17 years as well as a Director of child care facilities and I have never ever pushed a child away due to his/her behaviors. Being a preschool teacher is VERY challenging and rewarding. It is especially rewarding when you accept a challenge with a "difficult/ high energetic child" and have him learn and grow into a wonderful happy child. Too bad Patti had no desire to do so. All things happen for a reason I guess since our son is doing awesome and he is thriving in his new environment. Although Miss Patti may be great and wonderful to those kids who are the 'easier ones" but if your child does not fit into the perfect mold of an easy child then you are out of luck. Oh and Miss. Patti does not want any other professional help from the school district coming in to help your child learn to their potential, which I find very hard to understand considering that is what all child care facilties allow and accept. And if you leave early nice try getting your money back. You will never see a dime. Here is a bit of advice for you... Take what you know and understand your child to be and trust that instinct because this woman will make a mountain out of a mole hill when it comes to kids behaviors. Good Luck.

THE BEST!!!
I have been with this school for almost five years. I have 4 children close in age and I could not have asked for a better program or more qualified staff.

Miss Adrienne will truly love and care for your child. In fact, so will Miss Patti and Miss Karen. You can see and feel the bonds that are made, as well as the leaps and bounds the children make first in Nursery and then in Pre-K. You cannot find this anywhere else, and certainly not in a Universal Pre-K program.

Before I had children I was an early childhood education major. I have learned first hand the signs of a great school, a mediocre school, and a downright bad school. I have sat in on dozens of observations lasting days at a time...needless to say I was very informed when it came time to pick a school for my firstborn.

I was not going to be deterred by people in the neighborhood who decided on a school purely because it is where they themselves went or, even worse, where everyone else was going. I did my research and visited the schools in the area, and within the first 15 minutes I knew this was a phenomenal school.

The child to adult ratio is very comfortable, the discipline policy very healthy ( in fact this school hardly ever has to resort to true disciplining!), the atmosphere is very warm and nurturing. The independence that is fostered in these children is amazing. These children are VERY happy to be there. They are so confident in their teachers that they feel safe here. It is their second home.

My first two daughters had been tested by Sachem to see if they qualified for services. There was never a problem with this. It is a pain in the butt, however parents CANNOT and SHOULD NOT be lazy parents. When the going gets tough it is the parents job to buck up and get in gear; get to the bottom of the problem...there may very well not be a problem at all! Even if this takes every last minute of your spare time, IT IS YOUR JOB!

Trying to blame the school or educator is not going to help your child. The truth of the matter is that if you trust this school with your child- you should trust what the PROFESSIONAL sees and thinks. They may very well be wrong...it is still your job to follow through and make sure. I can tell you probably 9 out of 10 times that educator is right.

As for Sachem's "preschool list"....there is no such thing. Been there done that. It's all a load of crap. Sachem is a load of crap for that matter.

Patti will do whatever it takes to truly help or aid your child in any way. If that means there needs to be someone in the room for your child-she would never have a problem with this. SHE WILL, however, tell you straight up if the child is not benefiting from the service.

This school is great for ALL children- those who do not need services as well as those who do need services. My children did not need the services in the end, and either way they would have been happy there. My girls still ask to go back =) and my almost 4 year old wishes there was school all summer!

Give your child the great experience of patticake's place preschool. It has been a wonderful foundation for my children, and so many others I know. I KNOW you will be very pleased.

I can't believe the review i just read from Diana K. My daughter graduated from Patticake's just 2 years ago and she also needed extra help from the school district for social and academic skills. Patti and her staff couldn't be more kind and helpful. Yes, Patti did allow a SEIT (person coming to class 1 hour per class to assist child) for my daughter in class. If it wasn't for Patti my daughter would not be doing so well today. She has a great self image and loves going to school. If Patti asked to stop SEIT services, it must have been because the SEIT was not helping him. One of my friend's children also had some problems, so, I sent them to Patticake's and they too were very happy with the teachers and the one on one attention they gave to their son. My son will be attending Patticake's in the fall, because this is the best school, whether your child needs some extra help or not. Children attending Patticake's all get treated with the same kind and gentle learning experience. Not once did Diana K. say that her son didn't like being there. I bet he did!

Patti the director/owner came to me with concern for my son, because of this concern he was assigned a seit service from the district. Patti gave the SEIT 6 times before she was trying to talk me out of having her go to the school anymore. When it came down to it and after months when she realized she couldn??t manipulate me her true colors came out and she said she is ending the service, he doesn??t need it. Apparently she thought she knew what my child needed even though he qualified for this service and even the SEIT teacher felt he needed it too. It??s great for the director to be involved but in my opinion Patti is too involved, the teacher never once spoke to me about how my son was doing through this long ordeal. If your child requires extra help I would not recommend this school. My feeling is that Patti doesn??t want anyone else in the classroom. There must have been similar issues since Sachem has removed Patticakes from their Preschool list.

My son is going to graduate from the Pre-K Program at Patticake's this month. He has made many friends, as have I and has he is having so much fun. He is so happy to go to school and is looking forward to moving on to Kindergarten.
He started the 3 year program last year as a shy and not to talkative little boy. With the gentle guidance of Miss Adrienne and the staff, he has come so far socially and academically. We can't believe the growth he has experienced. We are extremely happy with Patticake's and would (and do) recommend this school very highly.

Sending our girls to Patticake's Pre-School was the best decision my husband and I could have made. They attended three years apart and both had terrific experiences. Each one had a different personality, but, both of them blossomed and matured into confident, happy and academically ready pre-schoolers. We can't say enough about the Patticake's staff. When we left our girls there, we walked away comfortable knowing they were in loving and gentle hands. Their program is fabulous and they were both eager to go into Kindergarten because of the wonderful preparation they had. Miss Adrienne and the staff gave them the tools and the eagerness to learn which has made them happy students now. We visit when we can and the girls still love seeing them!

My daughter attended Patticakes for the 3 year old and the 4 year old program. All of the children from her 3 year old program were also in her 4 year old graduating class. The educational foundation along with loving nurturing teaching staff and owner was priceless. My daughter went into kindergarten very prepared. I was asked by her teacher which preschool she had attended because she was impressed how well prepared she was. The teachers at patticakes are not only kind and loving but also dedicated to make every child as ready as possible for their next big step into kindergarten. I do not normally write reviews but felt compelled to do so after reading the review from anonymous. You will not find a more involved or more caring owner anywhere.I know many parents of children who have gone to Patticakes and some whose children are currently there and have only heard wonderful things about everyone involved at the school.

Patticake's is the most wonderful atmosphere for children. It is a clean, safe and nurturing environment. The staff is patient and caring and my children couldn't wait to go everyday. All three of my children attended Patticake's. Their transition into Kindergarten was so easy for them and me. The program is excellent and I felt so comfortable leaving my children there. They couldn't do enough to make sure each child felt special and enjoyed their pre-school experience.
**Anonymous' statements are false and they could not have attended Patticake's. I have known many parents who have taken their children to Patticake's and I never heard anything but great things about the teacher as well Patti, the owner.
She has always gone above and beyond to make sure all of the children in her school are happy and safe.

Patticake's is the most wonderful atmosphere for children. It is a clean, safe and nurturing environment. The staff is patient and caring and my children couldn't wait to go everyday. Stay away from this school. The owner is not a nice person, as I found out at my child's expense. She's vindictive and a liar. Read her contracts carefully, she won't let you remove your kid if you're unhappy with the school!

What a wonderful and caring staff at this preschool.

Your children learn shapes, colors, numbers, letters, social interaction, lots of play. They learn skills of putting on your coat, and taking care of yourself (hygiene)

There are field trips. My children and I have made wonderful friends at Patti's
