Newburgh Veterinary Hospital

I would not go anywhere else unless absolute necessary. My pets have been under the care of NVH for the past 12 years. I found them on a Sunday when no other vets were available. The doctors have performed various procedures on my pets over the past 12 years and if they can't figure out the problem, they will send you to a specialist who can. My puppy was sent to an internist and diagnosed with Spinal Meningitis via the recommendation of NVH since they were unable to diagnose what was going on with her. I am happy to say that my puppy made it to a year so far and is doing very well. Her care has been monitored closely by both NVH and the internist. It is worth the half hour I travel to NVH to know that my pets are cared for with love and professionalism. I also highly recommend NVH for boarding.

I was just introduced to this hospital because I got my first puppy. I called around and this hospital had a great puppy package that includes her spay, sick visits and all the exams and shots she needs her first year. The best part is that it has a payment plan so I don't have to pay all up front (it helps!). I just went in for my first visit and everyone was so nice. The doctor explained everything they did and even gave me helpful tips on raising my puppy.

I have been taking my pets to Newburgh Veterinary Hospital for the last 6 years and I have been extremly happy with the service that I have received. Whenever I walk in the staff greats me and my pet right as we walking through the door and they always have a smile on their face. The doctors are very knowledgeable and take the time in the room to make sure that you understand what the problem is and how to treat it. I only wish my doctors office gave such great service

my family and i have moved around alot through the years and have had to use different veterinarians throughout the U.S. this has been our favorite. our 2 dogs are very special to us and feel completely comfortable having them cared for by the doctors and staff here. one of our dogs does have a few medical conditions while the other has none. the staff always greets our sick dog but also always asks about the healthier one that is seen only for wellness exams. the hosital is always cleaned and am frequently offered a tour. the doctors are on their game and friendly as well. the staff makes us feel at home. i have no reservations about the care our dogs get while they are there. we also board them there, the web cam service they provide is great.

We have a pet rat named Benny. He has been under the care of Dr. Friedman since we have had him. He also has seen Dr Dasaro and both doctors have given Benny the best of care and they show so much compassion. I wouldn't think of taking him anywhere else. The girls on their staff both at the desk and the assistants are the nicest friendliest girls and always make going there a pleasure. We have the deepest respect for both Doctors and staff. Thank You for being so caring.

I love this animal hospital. They are always accomodating, friendly, very knowledgable and you can tell that they truly do love and care about your pet. I highly recommend this animal hospital to all.

i was new to the area, and found this vet on their website because of their sunday and weekend hours. at first i wasn't sure if i'd like them because the hospital looked small from the outside, even tho the grounds looked clean and well cared for. well, when i got to see the vet, i was very pleased. she was friendly and knew what she was doing, explained everything to me in ways i could understand, and most of all, she was really nice to my dog. (who's nervous anyway). the techs were really professional, the place smelled great, and they charged exactly what they quoted me in the first place. too bad that vet care is so expensive these days, but at least this place gave me good value for what i spent. i'd board my dog and cat there in a minute based on what i saw.

First impressions were excellent, nice facility, great staff, very caring, not so great medical attention!, Our cat was seen by three of their doctors, including one of the owners, the diagnosis was bladder infection. After three plus weeks, including five days in their hospital, $1800.00 of charges,daily doses of pain meds, I took our still suffering cat to another vet and he found an ear infection, and promptly cured the condition, for very little money. I don't doubt that the cat had a bladder/ urinary tract problem,however after addressing that, when the cat was still suffering, they should have found the ear condition that another vet found right away.I've heard some disturbing stories from former employees.

Although I found the doctor care acceptable and the staff helpful at this hospital, it doesn't warrant the unbelievably high prices they charge. My pet has a skin allergy, which is difficult to treat; however, for the same results (some resolution of situation for $400.00) I spent MUCH less money at a cat care clinic in the past. Now that I know this hospital is so expensive, I will only use them for emergencies since I felt like I was taken advantage of. With these prices, it is no wonder that people can't afford to take care of their pets.

We bring our dog, Chip there. He's our first dog, and this office has been pretty helpful.
I'm always in and out quickly, their procedures are always the same. The office never stinks either.

We got our dog trained by their trainer, she was EXCELLENT, she even volunteered to help socialize a stray who wandered into our yard so we wouldn't have to send him to the pound.

I like one of the dog foods they sell there. It's not cheap, but we always buy the best food for our dog.

The products they sell are high priced, as is the basic medical care. I was also peeved that they wouldn't check out a stray at a discount so we could avoid sending him to the pound. (We were just looking for contagious disease, fleas and ticks.) That told me that they weren't as concerned about the well-being of animals as they were about getting paid.

Also, when I inquired about giving my dog bones an meat, they told me they didn't reccommend giving dogs meat (huh?!).

There were two medical problems I brought my dog in about, but didn't get satisfactory answers. Both were regarding his skin/fur.

PROS: Clean, quick, orderly, great hours, friendly staff
CONS: high price, I don't have total faith in the doctors.

My husband, John, and I have been clients of Newburgh Veterinary Clinic for the last 7 1/2 years and have always been impressed with their knowledge, care, concern and kindness to our beloved animals. They never sound annoyed if you have to call with questions and I always use their vet services and boarding facilities, as necessary. I would recommend them to the Queen of England should she decide to visit the USA with her Corgis.

This vet is open seven days a week. It is very clean and the staff is amazing. It is accesible. Parking is great.. The vets are very helpful and explain everything to you.
