This was the worst italian food I've ever eaten, and we spent a lot of time and money to get there. The lasagna was like poor quality hamburger covered with a lot of cheese and bland sauce. My husband and son also had sub-standard meals. Such fast service would make anyone suspicious that the food is pre-made and not fresh.I can't believe the place is still open.

It's pretty rare that restaurants improve. Usually, bad ones close and good ones either stay the same or get worse. Spiga has gotten better.

Some of my family's favorite dishes are the antipasto arrosto (various roasted seafood and stuffed vegetables), the filet mignon (the crispy leeks and mashed potatoes are soooo good), the zucca salad, the pasta de bosco, and the chicken francese.

Not everything is good, though...the scarpiello and the saporito were both disappointing -- too dry, and simply not as good as similar dishes at other restaurants.

Also...they have a dinner special that isn't on the menu and that's probably the best deal in Scarsdale. You can get chicken parmigiana or eggplant parmigiana for FIVE, and it comes with pasta, soup, salad, bread, and dessert -- again, for FIVE, all for 40 bucks.

I've been here for brunches only and the price is very reasonable, the place is cozy, and the food choices are great. The service is also great. I would highly recommend them for brunch. I still need to try them for lunch/dinner.

My lovely Italian wife and I live two hours north of Scarsdale. Once a year... we set aside time for a special "date" ...to spend an entire evening together
at Spiga. The prelude to our wonderful evening being the long drive from our home in upstate New York down the scenic Taconic Parkway. Spiga is loud and boisterous. The food is fresh, unusual, delightful ...in my opinion, superb! I don't remember the name of the entree on the menu... but my favorite is a fairly large grilled veal steak inundated by an avalanche of fresh arugula, halved ripe cherry tomatos and icy cold irregular chunks of fresh, white, mozzarella cheese ...lightly drizzled with virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I imagine Spiga's chef puts the grilled veal topped with arugula under the broiler flames just long enough to wilt (but not cook!) the fresh arugula. The quirky atmosphere, excellent wine and simple but unusuallygenerous well prepared entrees combine to make our dining experience a thoroughly enjoyable date. There is something quite unique about the ambiance at Spiga's. Spiga Restaurant. There is definately a certain "'Je ne sais quois" which adds to our dining experience. It seems to linger a long while as we make our way back home to our cozy upstate home! I think the best word to describe it would be '...afterglow". So, Pilgrim, if you are seeking a top shelf place to meet friends or a lively place to dine, flirt and while away an evening with your date. I highly recommend Spiga. Prices? I honestly don't remember. Perhaps, I had a bit too much wine! Please tip well... we would like this restaurant to stay in business a very long time!

The service was nice here. I had the salad pizza and the chicken tasted like frozen reheated breaded chicken. My boyfriend had a veal dish and it was very very salty. Again, the service and atmosphere was nice, I just would not recommend the food.

On Sunday December 10, 2006, as a family we decided to go out to celebrate my husband?s birthday. We selected Casa Maya to celebrate this occasion. I had dinned at Casa Maya a couple of times last year. It is a very average Mexican Restaurant. The service is average. You get ?Fast Mexican Food? for the price. Still, we decided to give it another try. I had found a coupon and decided to use it.

There were four adults and two children in our party. The adults ordered Enchilada Placeras $13.90, Carne Asada $16.95, Chimichanga (Combo One) $8.95, & Quesada Maya $8.95, plus two margaritas $13.00. The children ordered meals from the kids? menu for $6.95 & $5.95. Total bill amount was $75.75 before coupon.

Please allow me to share our dinning experience with you:
1)From the combo meals, I ordered two Chicken Chimichangas. They brought one.
2)My order did not have sour cream and/or avocado. I asked for sour cream. They brought me a dish which held less than .10 oz sour cream, and later I was charged $1.50 for it. This is a hidden cost which they don?t tell the customers, and it is not on the menu. Most Mexican foods come with sour cream and/or avocado, but I suppose not at the Casa Maya.
3)I used a coupon which read -- ?Free Dinner Entre? When you purchase one of equal value or less. We purchased three entrees. One for $16.95, one for $13.90, and one for $8.95. They deducted $8.95 from our bill. When I asked the waiter, he said that I need to talk to the manager. Mr. Carlos Gregorio, the General Manger, came by to talk to me. When I spoke to the manager, he told me that they take the ?less? amount and he selected $8.95 dish. I told him ?why the $13.90 dish was not deducted??. And he kept repeating that the ?less? dish gets deducted, and he showed me the previous bills and this is how they treat all customers. I told him that the coupon reads the ?less? amount not the ?least? amount, and as I was talking to him, he just walked away. I was totally stunt! Wow! Talk about knowing customer service rules. Basically, the restaurant decides which amount to deduct.
4)When I asked the waiter to give me his name. The waiter did not know! I asked another staff. Later, Mr. Gregorio walked to my table and ?literally? threw his business card on my table. Wow! Now I am very impressed with Casa Maya rudeness. What a family oriented restaurant. Acting like that in front of the kids. Is this a treatment a customer gets in a Scarsdale restaurant?
5)Making my long story short?.If you use a coupon, the restaurant does not accept credit cards. This is so convenient for a restaurant owner for many $$$$ reasons, but not for customers.
6)We paid in cash, and left a %25 percent tip. The tip was not for the service. The service was very typical / average. This is to show, the money is not the issue. The point is getting cheated out for $5. It is the matter of ?principle?. Casa Maya pulls customers in with false advertising and later charges them with hidden costs and not honoring their coupons. And that is wrong, immoral, and illegal.

Rating 1 ? 5 stars:
Food: 2 stars
Service 2 stars until we met the General Manager. Then it dropped to 0-1.
Price: 2 stars

Hope this helps all the customers who are going to try out Casa Maya?s restaurant (or any of the Racanellire?s restaurants). Please make sure to ask for all hidden costs and coupon rules. www.racanellirestaurants.com

I don't normally write bad reviews...but guys... this experience would of compelled anyone to sit down and write one. First off service was good...no complaints there. I ordered the clams oreganato as app...they were sandy and also had peices of shell in 3 of them. The taste was nice but the grit??? Awful. Next I had the Bruschetta. It was okay...needed some vinegar, which i did myself...then I kept getting peices of something hard like evryother bite..it was sprigs of rosemary. I was so confused. THEN my entree came...Tortellini Porcino. Pasta was so undercooked and thick. There was little sauce and mushrooms were so gritty it was like crunching on dirt. 3 strikes! I do not recommend. Diner Beware.

We love Spiga, it is not in Yonkers but Scarsdale! (see phone #)

They serve single portions (serves 2) or family style (serves 4).

Very nice selection of food and courses. Great wine list.

Order anything but seafood, it's the one thing I don't enjoy there.

Ample parking and the price is great for the amount of food you get.

This Resteraunt offers a wide variety of Italian and American Dishes. They are not that expensive as a party of 4 would cost you around $150 Without the Tip. Great Service, Food, and Enviroment.
