Reviews for Panache Salon

Ratings_icons Highly recommended

Shannon N.

I went to Panache Salon to get a new haircut. My hair was very long, down to the small of my back, so I was told it would take a bit longer to do. I'd made an appointment for 7:00PM and was being shampooed by 7:10PM. The stylist shampooed, cut, dried and styled my hair in less than an hour. (I know people who have spent more time at Supercuts waiting to get a trim!) The result was fantastic. I had brought a small photo similar to what I wanted and she delivered. I got everything I asked for - even the length was just as requested. She also told me how to maintain the style at home. The price was *very* reasonable at $32. The salon is a clean, calm atmosphere and everyone was so nice and accommodating.

The review here from 2005 is still accurate - you can make an appointment or walk in. There are only a handful of chairs for those waiting. The stylists' areas are small but still with plenty of room to work.

They do offer many different hair care and styling products, and I was sort of expecting they'd ask me to try at least one of them, but no. They're not product pushers. :)

I didn't have any other services like coloring or highlights, so can't comment on those, but if you're looking to get a professional cut for a great price, Panache Salon is highly recommended.

Also of note- the place was quite easy to find using Google's directions.

Ratings_icons A quaint, small shop with a high price tag - but worth it

This small, quaint shop offers all the latest in hair care from colors, cuts, perms, straightening, and more.

The staff is small, the owner is Mr. Joseph himself who also works as a stylist at the shop.

They take you by appointment or walk in. There are just a few chairs for those waiting to be served and a small area for the stylists to work. Still, it all seems to work because Mr. Joseph's is always busy and they have repeat clientele who highly praise the work of the stylists.

I have always been happy with the work I have had done from cuts to color. Once, when I thought my highlights weren't quite right, they were fixed at no charge the next day.

The con is the price. Cuts and coloring are expensive and a trim and a highlights can cost $80.00. Regular coloring can get very costly as well. I have never had a chemical treatment like a perm but I am sure that is also quite pricey.

You pay for expertise though and you will generally walk out satisfied.

They take their time there -- almost too much so. I have spent five hours getting a trim and highlights and that is with no waiting for my stylist to start working on me. The result was great but, for those with time constraints, it can be maddening sitting in the chair for so long.

I was offered tea or coffee and even home made cookies while I had my hair done and the conversation is always buoyant and fun. Mr. Joseph makes you feel like you are at a party rather than having your hair done and you quickly become part of the family there.

They offer styling products but again, the price is steep.

I recommend this shop to those who have plenty of time and who want a cut, color, or chemical procedure done right. They will always work with you to be sure you walk out happy.

Expect to open your wallet though and pay a good amount for the services offered.

A quaint, small shop with friendly and talented staff -- and a high price tag.

PROS: Walk in accepted, night/weekend hours, friendly, talented staff, quaint
CONS: Costly, Can be an all day affair if getting a color, highlights, or a perm
