Eveready Diner

I am surprised about the below ratings! We went there twice and did not like it, the first time I went for lunch and the chicken wrap was terrible, sweet potato fries were okay, I have tasted better at Kings Diner in Kingston.

The second time we went there was in the morning and we were directed to a dirty table and when I started reviewing the menu it was torn and dirty which was unappealing so we left and went to Pete's Cafe. I did not like it, it was too noisy and just did not seem that clean to me.....like I said I am shocked about the below reviews.

my daughter came from california and we made this one of our "we need to go here" visits. The food was very good. i had the mac and cheese and my daughter had the fish n chips. she wanted a souvenier, and ordered a mug which was on the menu. when we got our bill, the mug wasn't on it. We were told by the cashier they didnt sell the mugs anymore. Do you think the waitress would have known this? Anyone know where I can get a mug? The prices were reasonable and a good deal. This is definitely a place to go again.

Its a diner thats been in the Hudson Vally for a very long time.Its quite popular for that reason. I think its average quality food & service but people enjoy going there for its history.

Generally speaking, the food at the Eveready Diner is very good. I've not been disappointed with anything I've ordered to date. I find that the [young] staff can sometimes be less than service-oriented, but for a diner it's somewhat tolerable. As always, try to avoid busy times at any diner in order to lessen your wait, otherwise, this is a nice place to enjoy a good meal.

I am a regular at the dinner, and yes at times it can be a wait, but normally that is due to the time you go, you go between 5-7pm its dinner rush hours you go before or after its not too bad, i rather go to a Diner with people it everybody can't be wrong??? than empty diner. The food is good, The waitress I get is very polite takes care of you with refills. There short ribs when they make are a Must!!
Its a good all rounded diner, even the bathrooms are good.
in short, you just need to pick the right time or just enjoy the atmosphere.

The last time that I visited the restaurant I had to wait almost 20 mins to be seated. Once seated, there was an additional wait for the waiter to come over to order our drinks. It took forever for him to return for us to order our food. Almost an hour later we received our cold food and still hadn't gotten the drinks that we had ordered. I will never go back there. The service was horrible.
