The Pearl Room is overpriced for the quality, and thank God I finally chose to never go back.

After viewing this page, you shall see how irresponsible this
establishment is:
www.safetynewsalert.com/restaurant-fined-for-parking-valets-death/

I knew the co-owner and chef (Anthony) for eight years. Mostly in the evening, his motives are to drink and socialize, use people financially, and to pick up women to bring home with him and use.

He is a jealous individual, who uses his alcohol consumption as an excuse to hurt and rip off people.

The food is mediocre at best.

The Pearl Room has great seafood options, it is expensive but worth it. Great place to go for various occasions. Great pasta options, very beautiful!

I HAVE TO SAY PEARL ROOM IS NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE. ONCE THE OWNERSHIP CHANGED IT WENT COMPLETELY DOWNHILL. THE FOOD QUALITY WASN'T AS GOOD, AND THE MENU IS ALWAYS THE SAME. YOU WILL NEVER FIND THE CHEF/OWNER IN THE KITCHEN BECAUSE HE IS EITHER AT THE TABLE TELLING YOU WHAT TO ORDER OR GIVING A CUSTOMER A MASSAGE. ME BEING ONE OF THEM. SERVICE WAS GREAT though

The roof was leaking from an existing leak and in the morning of the Bridal Shower it was raining. When the guests from the Shower arrived the restaurant sent one of the workers to fix the roof. Instead of fixing the roof, his foot fell through the roof.
It continued to rain in on the Shower for the entire time. Also, we were told Valet would be available, it was not available till after the Shower ended.
Make sure you bring an umbrella to this Shower, you will surely need it.

My parents were visiting my family from the city and I took them to the Pearl Room.We were seated immediately and the service was great. The waiter was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, the chef created a special pasta and shrimp dish for my mother even though it wasn't on the menu. Most of the food was perfectly done; my only problem was that my chicken was a little too thick. Overall, a very relaxed and pleasant atmosphere with very tasty food.

I came here last year for my birthday and was immediately impressed by the ambiance. I've been to a few places that are very well decorated but the food and service are substandard. This of not one of them. The food was great and our server was very attentive. The menu has great variety but I would especially recommend the seafood. The Pearl Room is a great place for special occasion dinners but a bit too pricey to visit regularly, though I wish I could afford to.

This past Saturday I made a surprise 60th birthday party for my wife. Anthony (chef/owner) could not be more accomodating.\r
\r
The private room, the food and the service made for a night to remember for all who attended (as far away as Pennsylvania).\r
\r
This is a happening place with food that is scrumptious. Appetizers of fried calamari, spring rolls and tomatoe with fresh motz was delicious (cheese tasted homemade). The fish, pasta (penne vodka was to die for!), and beef dinners were some of the best that my guests have ever tasted.\r
\r
Thank you Anthony and The Pearl Room for making this occassion one to remember

Went to the Pearl Room to celebrate 2 friends birthday dinner. They both were looking forward to a lobster tail dinner however, which was unusual they didn't have lobster tails that night. After speaking to our waitress (Deidra) who was absolutely wonderful, Anthony owner/chef came to the table and was very accommodating. He made a phone call and in less then 10 minutes walked back in to display 4 beautiful lobster tails.
I enjoyed the special salad, the pork loin and sauteed spinach. Also the portobella mushroom appetizer and the homemade spinach pappardelle with a white truffle sauce with grilled shrimp. The service was wonderful(as usual) the meal was absolutely delicious and the plating was magnificent....Anthony is a wonderful host and the staff is very accommodating.

The Pearl Room is the #1 place in Bay Ridge for excellent Italian food and outstanding service. The place is gorgeous- I planned my sisters bridal shower at the Pearl Room and received so many compliments on the food. Our waitress Donna was attentive, friendly and made our dining experience even more special with her pleasant manner. The owner, Anthony, came by our tables as well to ask how we were doing. I've been at the Pearl Room quite a few times now and have often seen Anthony speaking with customers to ask about the service and offer his feedback on the menu. You don't see service like that too often.

I don't even know where to start giving all of the compliments to this restaurant. As soon as you walk in the service is awesome!!!! The people are great and the food is excellent. The bartenders are great with the drinks and even with conversations. I would recommend this place to anyone. P.S. Try the hot seafood combo for two it's awesome, it gives you a little taste of everything. By the way that fried ice cream yum yum just mentioning it makes me want to go now.

I have had two parties there before, and honestly was very impressed. I just had my third party, there and it was absolutely horrible. It was a brunch, they did not tell us that they would hand out only one piece of bacon to each guest and no additional servings. The did not leave anything on the table for the guest to eat, forget seconds you barely got first servings. The muffins they mention were served, but they neglected to state that they were 1"" diameter a, only six to a plate, the table held twenty people. The brought out a fruit platter that only accommodated half of the table and with no utensils or plates? We rented the room for 4 hours and they were trying to get us out in two. Also, after the fact they charged us 20% gratuity which, was not mentioned when we booked the place. We would of been able to hold the party at a dinner and got four times the food, just for the gratuity that we paid. They are a bunch of low-life thieves and would not recommend that anyone eat there, I know we will never go there again!

The Pearl Room is a neighborhood charm. The food is consistantly first rate. This is one place to go for that special night out to be assured of a fine dining experience...the atmosphere, wait staff and professionalism are only surpassed by the excellent food.\r
The Chef, Anthony Rinaldi is passionate.. about his specials and will often go to your table to discuss them with you. Seafood is the draw, but I recenly had his pasta and sauce and it tasted like my grandmother made it! Liquid gold! ... The Bar: Frequent DJ nites are fun. Crowd is trendy but friendly. \r

I have eaten at the Pearl Room a few times and also had a party there for about 60 people. The food and service have never disappointed - chef/owner Anthony Rinaldi was helpful in the party planning, and really gave things a personal touch. I was not even charged when I was short on the number of guests I had guaranteed. Pearl Room is also a great date place, since you can hang out at the lively bar before or after your meal. Great Food, Friendly Service, Fun Atmosphere - I would definitely recommend it!

The chef and the owner Anthony Rinaldi sends a ""complimentary"" drink to the table and then it shows up on a tap! Be careful! We signed the bill and he added 20% service charge after the signature! We had to dispute the charge...food was ok but overpriced! wine was the cheapest kind served with high prices! watch out! the place is a devil's hang out!\r

I would never recommend The Pearl Room to anyone because: \r
1. I made a reservation and when I got there they didn't have it. \r
\r
2. I Valet parked my car and received a $115 ticket which I wasn't NEVER informed of until one month latter in the mail with a LATE FEE now the ticket is $125. Then I call The Pearl Room and at first they told me they would take care of it as long as I had proof that I was at the restaurant that night. However, once I told them I was able to provide proof that I was at the restaurant they refused and told me I would have to speak to the manger or owner (who every time I called were not there and never called me back). (Talk about being un professional) . \r

We've had terrific meals here in the past so we had high expectations for a party we went to. The restaurant is nice and the staff excellent but everything from the Costco like rolls to the chicken skewers and mozzarella and calamari appetizers was bland. In fact the pepperoncini calamari I've had in the past was far superior to the bland marinara sauce they gave us. Entrees were equally disappointing, my sea bass was over cooked and the sauce devoid of taste, even the mashed potatoes were tasteless. Plating was bizarre, the tilapia was the color of cardboard and with the balsamic vinegar and red bean paste sauce it looked like ribbons on a package. No one finished their meal and the best thing was the occasion cake we brought in with us. \r

What happened to this place, did they change owners?

The roof was leaking from an existing leak and in the morning of the Bridal Shower it was raining. When the guests from the Shower arrived the restaurant sent one of the workers to fix the roof. Instead of fixing the roof, his foot fell through the roof.
It continued to rain in on the Shower for the entire time. Also, we were told Valet would be available, it was not available till after the Shower ended.
Make sure you bring an umbrella to this Shower, you will surely need it.

Since I don't celebrate Christmas on Dec 25, I needed to go to a place that was open for Christmas. I chose the Pearl Room and I am very happy I did. It was a great experience. I been there a couple of times before but not on a holiday. The food had great presentation and the service was outstanding. The owner/Chef came up to my table and made me feel very welcomed (especially since I was dining alone) and was very sweet. I ordered the special menu for $55 and had the potato crusted salmon. I never had salmon prepared that way but I will definitely have it again. The dessert was different for me too. I had banana strudel for the first time with frangelico. Perfect combination to satisfy your sweet tooth. The owner gave me complimentary chocolate truffles. The pearl room really made my evening with the constant attention. I loved it! I will be back!

Don't get me wrong...we did have a great dinner. The restaurant is very intimate and quaint. But, for the cost, I wasn't blown away by the dishes. Everyone that works at Pearl Room is extremely knowledgeable, cordial, helpful, and formal.\r

The best food and overall dining experience in Bay Ridge. \r
\r
I have never had a bad meal or a bad time at The Pearl Room.\r
\r
From the moment you walk into the Pearl Room you enter a relaxed, elegant environment where you are treated like a VIP.\r
\r
The wait staff is courteous and extremely knowledgeable about the food. They describe each special with true enthusiasm and answer all of your questions intelligently and with clear personal experience and familiarity.\r
\r
I had such good dining experiences at The Pearl Room, that I decided to have my wedding dinner there. The managers and wait staff were incredible to work with. They offered more than any other restaurant in Brooklyn or Manhattan BY FAR - and they delivered. \r
\r
Each of my 60 guests raved about the delectable food and the warm, friendly, impeccable service. I would highly recommend this restaurant for the most intimate romantic dinner to the biggest private party - they can handle it all - because they truly care about their customers and the product they provide. \r
\r
Bay Ridge is lucky to have this little gem in the heart of our neighborhood.

We had a lame experience. The server was rather rude and inattentive in a half empty restaurant. We don't ask for much when we dine out just remember to take our order and check back when we get our food. Hopefully that server has moved on. More importantly, the grilled black angus shell steak was a little underwhelming. I don't know, maybe this joint was a little built up for me and my friend. Overall, a pretty standard seafood restaurant. I don't think it's worth the price.

The Pearl Room is the closest thing I have had the pleasure of experiencing to genuine home cooking. Being away from my family for so long, it's great to be able to walk in such a welcoming and beautiful establishment and be able to truely enjoy everything on the menu. I can honestly say that I have enjoyed every meal that I have ordered. The Pearl room is a great place to impress a date or to enjoy brunch, a beer and sunday football. The hosts Nancy and Anthony make sure you feel like apart of the family and the bartenders and wait staff make sure you feel appreciated. I never have to think about were I'm going for dinner or a couple of drinks and company. My first choice is always The Pearl Room!!!!!

I don't get out much and when I do I am selective as I have high criteria in what I look for: great food, classy atmosphere and a friendly crowd. \r
I am pleased to say that the Pearl Room offers these in abundance.\r
I always have a good time here. From the hosts, Nancy and Anthony to the bartenders particularly Victor & Tracy and the regulars you are sure to feel welcome and appreciated. I also find it a great place to network among prefessional and business owners.\r
There are great Tuesday night parties but as I live in the area I notice in passing that it is always busy here. \r

I recently threw an Anniversary Party at the Pearl Room. I was truly impressed with the entire affair: the food was outstanding, the entertainment was superb. The hosts Nancy and Anthony could not have gone out of their way more than they did.\r
After the party a few friends stayed at the bar area that was quite busy with a very nice crowd. They later told me that they had a great time.\r
I highly recommend the Pearl Room as a great party host, a great restaurant with food to die for, and a great bar spot.

First off never judge something until you try it at least once. The Pearl Room is one of the best restaurants in the Bay Ridge area. I have been there over a half dozen times and have never been disappointed. First off the food is amazing. Always listen to the specials, the weirder the food sounds usually the better it is. Be open-minded. The Executive Chef/Owner is great he comes over and talks to people in the restaurant when things are not too hectic in the kitchen. Desserts (fried ice cream) SPECTACULAR!!! For all the people who left bad reviews...they must have bad taste...and trust me I'm quite particular. Great place all around!

This was our first time coming to the Pearl Room, and we were quite surprised by the atmosphere that is created by the staff and the food that is simply to die for.\r
We had a young server with a shaved head I think his name was Allan and he recommended the special to us that was French Breast of Chicken. The sauce was amazing and the way it was prepared was just to die for.\r
My husband and I have celebrated our anniversary and the way that our waiter brought out the desserts and made all the staff gather and sing for us, was something that we never had before.I would definitely come back here and recommend it to my friends.\r
The service that was given us, we felt as we were royalty, and the service of the staff simply makes the experience very warm and cozy.\r

Although I did have a very nice evening at the Pearl Room, it was not what I expected after reading many reviews of it. I had the impression that it was an upscale, elegant restaurant with excellent seafood. It is not that. \r
\r
The decor was nice, but extremely heavy on the Christmas lights. The crowded bar with televisions playing sporting events, and a bachelorette party making the rounds, contributed to a much noisier atmosphere than I expected. I hate to sound snobby, but although the hostess was very helpful, her neckline that plunged to somewhere around her navel was well out of the ""classy"" category of attire, and quite frankly, it made me a little uncomfortable. However, once we entered I soon realized that I was the only woman in the restaurant who was not flaunting my goods, including the stripper and her date who were sitting across from us. I overheard her say to the waiter, in response to his inquiry ""Was everything alright?"" - ""Eh- I've had better. I eat in Manhattan a lot you know."" As utterly tactless as that was, she was actually right. The food, while good, was inconsistent, too heavy, and over spiced. It was a good, enjoyable meal, but not of the caliber I was expecting. \r
\r
One final note- the service was really quite good. I can't really blame the valet parker for not knowing how to drive a stick shift, or the waiter for rushing 100 miles an hour through the specials (there were A LOT of them!) but I think every employee we came into contact with was very pleasant and helpful.\r
\r
All in all, I would say it's worth trying, but be prepared for a very Bay Ridge version of elegance.

Cons: Noisy, sports bar-esque

Many times before I have arranged for gift dinners all over NYC for friends and family simply by calling a given retaurant and providing my personal info & CC#. However I called pearl room for a week and call after call was hung up on or told fuggedaboutit, youz gotta come down hea and git da certificate in person. Right, a 2.5 hour drive to Bayridge so I can give a gift for friends who live three blocks from Pearl Room. To bad we will never know if the food was great, because the service... well you know.

I just really love this place. \r
The food is always fresh and the atmosphere is clean and bright - yet can be a romantic date night place too. I always have fun when I eat here. \r
\r
If you can not make it out of town for a summer weekend away, come here and you will feel like you are away in some cute little beach community. Great seafood!!!\r

Cons: have to get there early if you don't want to wait a while for a seat

I have been here now twice, once on my daughter's birthday on a quiet night and once to impress friends visiting. Both times I have been disappointed. Maybe my tongue has been spoiled by all of the food available in Manhattan, but there are MUCH better restaurants in the city for less money. The restaurant is beautiful, but that is about it. The service is okay, but nothing extra, nothing more special than you would get in a local diner. The food has always been a disappointment. I've had the gnocchi, tasted two or three types of beef entree's and two different seafood entrees. Both entree's I've had were too salty and the flavors not balanced. Considering I spent over a hundred dollars for one appetizer and three entrees, I would like to be impressed. My aunt's risotto was flavorless... goey rice with Elmer's glue flavor. I've read all of the good reviews and I keep feeling like I'm missing something. The restaurant is too expensive to warrant another trial.

My choice to celebrate my birthday in the Pearl Room appeared to be the best one. What an experience me and my family had. Everything was excelent, starting from the way you greeted at the door to the food and service. \r
Food deserve a very special recognition. After visiting the restaurant many times, I've finaly got a chance to meet the chef. Anthony Rinaldy you are the best. It's been a great honor to meet you and to try your exeptional dishes. Everybody in our party enjoyed the food, especially french breast of chicken stuffed with spinach risotto was out of this world. Everything from the product used to execution and presentation is outstanding. Thanks Anthony and your staff for the great time we had. Keep it up. .... and my birthday wish... many many returns to your wonderful place. 5/7/7

While looking for a venue for my parent's 30th anniversary party, i was taken by the Pearl Room's atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff. IChef Rinaldi was very pleasant and very accomodating, somwhat refreshing as compared tp two other restaurants tha I had met with recently.\r
\r
The night of the party always brings a bit of anxiety but I must confess that the evening was indeed a gem.\r
The food was tremendous, with the Chef upgrading our choices from what we had originally agreed upon. We had last minute changes and requests that were handled excellently. As with any busy restaurant (after all would you have an affair at a restaurant that had no customers) the staff was quite busy, bit always ready to assist when needed.\r
\r
At the end of the evening we had many good comments from family members and guests who enjoyed the eveing thoroughly. Most importantly I was stress free.\r
\r
I highly recommend the Pearl Room for not only parties but it is also a great restaurant.\r

Pros: Excellent Party Venue

.

The Pearl Room hosted a 50 person party for my daughters baptism and was an ultimately a disaster!! \r
The reserved room was not open to my guests until 10 minutes after the scheduled party time. Avoid large parties and question the manager, to see how many affairs they book on the same day. The restaurant is not equipped with enough staff to accommodate more than one party. The party was a sit down dinner where guest waited a painfully long time for each course, a beverage, sometimes replacement silverware. The agreed upon menu that was set up during the deposit booking with the chef was altered by the chef and not served to the guests, the bill did not reflect the change. Guests felt they had to share the family style appitezers because servings were very small. In observance of my guests, the dishes where cleared after each course as full as they were served with guests complaining of the taste and freshness of the ingredients. The 7 kids waited at there own table 2.5 hours into the party before being served the kids menu meals. This dinner should have been 5 hour Sunday dinner falling way too late in the evening leaving me with embarrassment and angst over a special religious memorable occasion as a Baptism celebration. Out right The Pearl Room took on way to more than they can handle and was a disappointment and embarrassment.

I come to the Pearl Room about once a month and it has yet to leave me wanting more!! The food may be expensive, but the quality is worth the price. I have yet to wait more than 20-30 minutes for a table, but I would wait as long as necessary for the Tuna Tartar! I haven't had such great tasting tartar in all my years and I eat out almost every night. The wine menu is above average with decent prices and the staff is always friendly and accomodating. I hope the quality of the food in this restaurant will set the standard for all of Bay Ridge and keep me wanting to come back for years to come!!

My first trip to this restaurant was a great experience. First the music was excellent and set a very romantic mood for a Friday Night. The decor added to theatmosphere. \r
The server was on top of everything with great recommendations and made us feel very comfortable. The rest of the staff was very attentive also. Chef Anthony made sure to stop by the table to solicit our opinion as first timers.\r
I had the Tilapia served over a bed of Risotto with shrimp that was a very delectable taste experience. My date had a chicken special that she also raved about.\r

We met friends at the Pearl Room on Dec. 27th. The waiter was attentive, well prepared and friendly. I ordered one of the chef specials, a pan seared tilapia on marscapone risotto. It was spectacular. My wife had the braised beef with noke. The wait staff kept after our every need. The coffee and deserts were terrific. It was a great dining experience. This is our fourth time dining at The Pearl Room and every dining experience has been consistently excellent.

Have been here a couple of times already with a few friends and we have always left with a smile on our faces. We loved the food. The only blemish would be it seemed a bit too dark...I think a candle or two around the table would have been just right.

FROM THE MOMENT YOU WALK INTO THIS MANHATTAN SETTING IN BAYRIDGE, YOU ARE GREETED WITH SMILES. A VERY WARM AND COZY FRIENDLY FEELING. THE STAFF'S ATTENTIVENESS STARTS FROM THE MOMENT YOU ARE SEATED. IN ADDITION TO THE EXCELLENT MENU THEY HAVE, THE CHEF PREPARES A VARIETY OF ECLECTIC SPECIALS. APPETIZERS, PASTAS, AND ENTREES ,EVEN DESSERTS. GREAT FOR ALL OCCASIONS. IF YOU VENTURE INTO BROOKLYN PEARL ROOM IS DEFINITELY A PLACE TO VISIT.

This has to be one of the best places in Bay Ridge! The Food is incredible, the bar has a great atmosphere whether your with a special someone or with friends. It is a great mix of Manhattan fancy with Brooklyn culture thrown in. I am all over the menu and look forward to the next great meal. Bravo to the chef! The servers are knowledgeable and friendly to boot. A class act all around. I have eaten there with my wife, friends and clients and have never had a bad meal or service.

I cant' seem to figure it out how this place is called the PEARL ROOM but does not leave up to its name at all. Not worth the city prices for a mediocre cuisine. I last remember this place from 3-4yrs ago to be very popular and worth visiting but a guess a lot have changed since than, starting with the new ownership of mother and son. I can't see myself dining here any other time ever. Furthermore, the way this place is being run I would be surprised it out lasts its lease contract. Save your money and your gas.

Reading their on line menu, I decided that this was the best place to host Father's Day brunch. When we arrived, it turns out their menu was no longer the same menu they had. Our waiter was nice enough, but I had to ask for coffee 3 times. We asked for water for the table and got one single glass for 7 people! The prix fixe brunch is $18 which includes juice, mimosa, coffee, etc. A couple of folks requested soda instead. The soda was served in small 6oz glasses and we were charged $2.50 per glass. The pancakes plate is 3 small, silver dollar size pancakes for that price. The food quality is good, but the prices are not worth it!
