I have been coming back at this store for quite some time now. I love the music equipment being sold here for a portion of the prize compared to other stores.

I bought an acoustic guitar from their website. The owner failed to tell me the bridge had been replaced, and the bridge holes had been enlarged.

Rivington is one of NYC's best guitar shops. Plenty of guitars to choose from in every price range including vintage Fenders and Gibsons, electrics and acoustics, vintage effects, and more eclectic brands such as Danelectro . Friendly staff, reasonable prices, and a great new location.

I checked this place out first on the internet then I went to the store. The internet sight is amazing, and the store was really a treat. This place is simply the coolest. They have really cool vintage Silvertone and Magnatone amps. Rare vintage Fender Starcaster was really cool to check out. Tons of cool Les Pauls, too. Very rare and hard to find models. Prices are reasonable and staff was nice and helpful, too. They have a killer webstie, too!

Pros: GREAT VINTAGE GEAR

Cons: NONE

This store is a ripoff. They sell "vintage" instruments which are all in need of serious costly repairs. The average consumer or musician doesnt know about the many things that can go wrong with "vintage" gear until they play with it for a month and realize the bridge is pulling apart from the guitar, or there is a major crack in the body, or the caps need replacing. This store is dishonest. They WILL rip you off. I dont see how this place is still in business.

When my son first became interested in learning the guitar I wanted to get him a good quality guitar but not that expensive. I looked at the large "music chains" but they were either poor quality or too expensive for the quality items. Someone recommended Rivington and I was very happy with their selection. People sell them their good quality used guitars and I found a great Schecter guitar that was used but still good quality. I even got a good price on a used amp. My son since has bought another guitar from here and I'm also thinking of getting a good keyboard for them. They also specialize in vintage guitars and I'm sure that anyone wanting a great guitar will find it here. Very friendly staff..helped me who doesn't know much about musical instruments. A great little store with knowledeable musicians.

PROS: Professionals in music!
CONS: None

Rivington Guitars is a good place to start if you are looking for a used or vintage guitar and other equipment. There prices are pretty good and ranging from a few hundred dollars and up depending on what you are looking for. The staff are really nice and helpful. They try there best to help you get what you are looking for.
