Well worth the treck down to York-- after being incredibly bored of the restaurants in this area and restaurant row on 2nd, we found this retaurant to add a bit of spice to the mix. The array of sauces can be a bit overwhelming, but the staff does an excellent job of pairing them together for you. HIGHLY recommend the calamari app, filet migon entree with the chimi sauce and the chilean seabass. The warm bread wheel was another perk and served with a tasting of their sauces as well. Great wine and beer list. Attentive staff that knows the staff inside and out. If you're going to head down to 1st ave for Campangola or Sasabune, then another block east to check out this place is a MUST!

Pros: Stand Out Menu on UES

Cons: None

Saucy is named, aptly, for the variety of sauces offered to compliment their dishes. There are four main types of dishes from which to choose: chicken, filet mignon, fish, and pasta. All entrees are served with a side (broccoli, baked yams, asparagus, baked potato, etc...). A suggested sauce is listed for each particular dish, but you can feel free to mix and match to your heart's content. A great modern, customer-choice oriented place. There is a great variety of cocktails, but all of them are heavy on the sweet side (quite a few lychee options too). Fair selection of beers, solid selection of wines. I decided to spring for a filet mignon - the "Sunrise" - and oh boy, I was not disappointed. Three oh-so tender and juicy cuts, bathed in a sweet mandarin orange and mint sauce. My boyfriend got the pasta arabiata - nothing out of the ordinary, but the spice in the sauce makes it a winner. Sides of broccoli and asparagus were served in plain clay plates, the vegetables PERFECTLY al dente. An eclectic mix of jazzy/international/funk/groove music. Green ivy hung over the walls of the bar (very cool), and under the ceiling are sacks of assorted spices. Service was attentive and friendly...but then again, at 9:30 on Monday night, there were only 2 other couples in the whole restaurant.
OH - I almost forgot - the BREAD that they serve is phenomenal. A large, fluffy wheel with three dipping sauces/oils. Mmmmmmm.

Cons: surprisingly not crowded

My husband and I have eaten at Saucy over a dozen times and we've never been disappointed. The food is consistently excellent. Everything is cooked to perfection; the steak, the fish, the chicken! We've ordered so many different entrees from the filet to the tilapia and have thoroughly enjoyed them all. If you are looking for a beautiful and comfortable atmosphere with exquisite food you will love Saucy. Once you eat their food you will be hooked. I really appreciate their menu of 50 sauces that you can mix and match with either chicken, filet or pasta (my personal favorites are cilantro chicken, calamari chicken, the tilapia, honey filet, crimson filet and argentinian filet). There are so many great entree options and the appetizers are equally amazing. The food is definitely worth the walk over to York Ave. Don't miss it!! My husband and I will continue eating here once a week as long as they're in business.
