I went there for my birthday. Really enjoyed myself, although you are packed in at the tables. Remember this is NYC. The food was good, there is a two drink minimum. The wait staff was great, very friendly I thought. To top my evening of a celebrity literally bumped into me. I would recommend Caroline's to my friends.

I went with a friend to see Sinbad in Juli 2008. We never made it to see the show. The show was supposed to start at 10.30 pm. We were told to be there at 9.30 pm. We were on time and ended up waiting outside for over an hour until they started to let people in. It was the most disorganized mess I've ever experienced. We ended up waiting again crowded in between very unhappy diners. The staff was not exactly friendly either. After waiting in line for almost 2 hours, besides having reservations, we were quite unhappy and in no mood for comedy any more and left. Never again.

Paul Mooney is the preeminent Nobel Comedian Laureate of the past, present and future. I have laughed so hard because of his comedic timing, expression, subject matter and delivery my face hurt. He's a must see.

Two drink minimum, but the first drink might take an hour to get to you. The wait staff does not care. The seating is half empty - cause I guess theyre out of favour - with the talent I saw its not hard to understand.

The Bright side: Caroline Comedy Club is known for having many great comedians pass through. However, I have to be a die hard fan to go there when I wish to really, really see someone I admire.

In my opinion, Caroline's is a bit over priced. The decor is mediocre - ok, granted. The 'hired help' is NOT the friendliest, and yes, I know this is New York, but NY is plentiful with friendly caring great people. You need to bring a pocket flash light to read the menus and your check. The tables and menus were somewhat sticky - yukkkk! You are forced (policy) to buy at least 2 drinks and they are well over priced. Ex: A glass filled to the top with ice and plain old cranberry juice is $4.00. So, in other words, if you have two glasses minimum - this actually only equates to one full glass (if u have ice that is), for $8.00.

The seats are TIGHT and tables are 4x4 for 2 people. The place is NOT the cleanliest and the set up sucks.

Keeping in mind, when going to 'tip' the waitress and waiter; try not to take anything out on them because of the establishment. You should always tip according to service, etc., but try not to hold the 'dark side' against them if they were friendly and doing their jobs to the best of their abilities.

None the less, if none of the above bothers you - then by all means; go to Carolines to see some really good comedians and laugh to your heart contents.

Overall the show was good from the host to the opening act to the headliner was funny! My only complaints were that the seating arrangements were rather tight. You can only order appetizers during the show and the food & drinks were kind of expensive! I spent $100 for four drinks, ceaser salad, buffalo wings, 4 shrimps!

I went to Carolines to Brian Regan perform. I wasn't impressed with Brian Regan that night and the comedy club was just ok. I felt like it was a little disorganized getting people to their seats. The way the seats are set up is uncomforable if you are in the back on the side. Just felt like I could never get comfortable! I would probably go back and give it another shot with a different performer!

Caroline's is well known for its celebrity comics who stop in to work on their material. The cover charge is very high and that is in addition ot a two drink minimum. Sure, once you're in you'll have a good time, but you have to shell out a pretty hefty fist of cash to get there. All things considered, it is cheaper than most of the things to do around that area. So it's probably not a waste of your money, but there are less expensive ways to hear stand up.

The place itself is very nice, and the staff is friendly, however I think that this place is way overpriced. The comics are not as funny as I thought they would be. I think you would be better off going to another comdey club and paying less money. The food is ok, but not at all worth the price you have to pay. Also we had a very long wait. I would not like to go back to this place. But for someone with money to burn this might be the place for you.

This can be an excellent alternative to a broadway show or the usual midtown sightseeing... it's worth watching the latest acts. The headliners are wonderful, and I've always enjoyed the opening acts for the top comedians here as well. They have a great variety of acts so there's something for each comedy taste.

The 2 drink minimum and cover usually isn't too bad--and the drinks aren't bad either. The decor, at times, does seem like something out of a 70s game show--but I guess that's post-Disney Broadway for you!

If you enjoy comedy, bring enough money for the 2-drink minimum and see both famous comics and newcomers alike. All different styles of comedy...something for everyone!

Carolines is the premier comedy club in New York City. All the top comedian perform here, and they have a variety of entertainment. You have to make reservations because the place gets crowded. It's kind of expensive, but its worth the price. There's a 2 drink minimum, but the drinks are pretty good. The club serves food too which isn't bad. It's a nice sized comedy club and I have a good time everytime I come.
