I had the same sort of problem with most likely the same lady who work their. I got quarters out of the change machine within the laundromat. One of the quaters was a Canadian quarter and the dry wouldn't take it. I went to the woman who works their (Sunday AM, early) and explained to her. She went through the roof. She told me that it was my fault, that I most likely got the quarter from someplace else, that I was a thief and she for one doesn't put up with "my type", that "you people" should go elsewhere, etc.... I had NO quarters when I walked into the laundromat, so I had to get the quarter via their machine. She acted like this was the crime of the century, she exploded at me in front of others. I walked away and waited for my clothes to dry and never went back to that place. This happened several months ago. I think she may have maybe been in pain and not taken her meds??? She walked crooked as if she had a back problem. In any event there was no way she should of taken it out on me. This place lost my business, I was spending about $12-$15 per week. There are other laundromats within walking distance which are just as good if not better.
One thing that has always since bothered me...? If I had a temper like she had, perhaps the police and maybe an ambulance would of had to be called. If she treats other customers like this, it's only a matter of time.
Bottom line...don't go to this place, especially if "she" is there!

This is a good laundromat.
There are many laundromats in the area...some new, and some not so new. The one thing that makes this place one of the best is that they are the only laundromat in the area that has an "extractor"...using this machine after the wash (an extra 50 cents) cuts drying time in half!
One bad thing about this place: most of the employees are nice and very helpful. However there is one woman who seems to be mad at the world. When she is asked a questions she answers in more of a bark than a voice. If you possibly can, avoid this place on Sunday mornings when she works!

We had to live a small apartment when we were between homes. We didn't have a washing machine for those 3 months.
How convenient it was for me to drop off the laundry in the morning on my way to work and pick it up in the evening! They folded it for me, too. It cost more, for sure, but it was worth every penny!

This laundromat is conveniently located in the Port Jefferson Plaza on rt.112, where the post office and the TFCU are. Parking is ample although not always outside of the laundromat. There are plenty of machines, I have never waited to use them. There are also some big and one huge washing machine, to combine loads. The dryers are pretty efficient and a few coins get the job done. Seating is limited (two tables with 2-3 chairs each), but folding benches are plentiful. The place is relatively clean and the keeper seems to work efficiently. They also have dropoff convenience, although the prices are a big on the high side.

PROS: Clean, large number of machines
CONS: limited seating
