Worst manicure experience yet. \r

The manicurist was very rough. She tore my cuticle and it would not stop bleeding. She used a bottle with chemicals to stop the bleeding, but put the bottle nozel right in my bloody gash totally

I stopped at Sally on a whim to get a manicure. I was pleasantly surprised. While this place looks like your average nail salon, the women who work here were friendly, fast, and did a really decent job. It was reasonably priced and they give you a membership card of buy 10 get one free manicure. I will be going back here again!

This is the first nail salon I have been to and I was quite impressed. I went to the newer salon on 16th St and 3rd Ave. They greeted you at the door and even helped with my bags. The lady that actually did my nails was very good and pretty quick. The prices are reasonable (under $10) for just a basic manicure. The only thing is that it would best if you brought cash. I usually use a debit card for everything, but they asked if I didn't at that time. I guess there is a debit/cc minimum. But I would recommend this place to anyone in the area. For my first time getting a manicure, I enjoyed my experience. I definitely plan to go back soon!

Pros: Very friendly and no pressure to get other services done

Cons: Had to bring cash and couldn't use a debit card

When I first moved to NYC, I tried several different nail salons. When I came across Sally Nails on 14th Street, my search was over. Not only are the prices better than most of the other salons around, but everyone is friendly and they listen to what you want. A few months ago, they opened a second location at the corner of 16th and 3rd. The same comments go for both locations (although the pedicure chairs at the new location can't be beat). They are always clean and usually on time when you make an appointment. If you just walk in, there are times when you may have to wait as they are often busy (but this is always a good sign of a successful business). There is a nail salon across the street from me, yet I still walk 10 blocks to have my nails done at Sally's. Don't forget about their other services, especially the chair back rubs!

i highly recommend this salon. At first I thought it was a normal salon but with a fancy look, with regular services...u know just manicure pedicure and the usual, but there were so much more. There were different massages (reflexology, back, etc...) and more importantly facials. This is where they surprised me...the facial specialists were all licensed, as well as the other technicians. Not just the variety of services that were shocking, but their manicures and pedicures are awesome. The polish actually stayed for two weeks or so, minus the part where I deliberately scratch them off. At other salons, my nail polish would come off within 4-5 days and that got me real angry. Another thing that i like about Sally Nail Spa is the workers and the boss. Whenever I just open the door they would greet me very warmly, especially the boss, He would make you feel as if you're home rather than in a strange, new place and I really appreciate. Like it was said before, the salon does get a little too packed sometimes, but the wait is usually short and the results just brightens you up. Fortunately for us, they recently just opened another salon, but under a slightly different name. The location is 165 3rd Avenue around the corner. I am going to try the place next week and hopefully it will be as good as the old salon. Either way, you should try out the salon if u want a relaxing time.

I work in the neighborhood, and just stopped in for a manicure. there was a customer that was so rude- and when she was told who to go to, she started screaming saying that she didn't like the manicure lady - i thought she was crazy. then the woman next to me.. her manicure lady kept forgetting to do everythingto her right hand. then my turn- she nearly ripped off my cuticles... my nails were bleeding. i had red nail polish on before, and they are still red everywhere, looks terrible.... i got a massage that was a joke as well. she was just randomly hitting my back - i understand that massages at these places aren't super professional, but the basics? i will never go there again, nor do i recommend it.

I've been to this place several times before and each time I have to say I've had great service. Some people although casually run into some bad technicians but the majority of them are really great!

I got a manicure today and had my eyebrows done today for the first time at Sallys' and they came out pretty nice. Not as nice as bliss which is just over priced for an eyebrow job but they are decent.

The manicures are wonderful, relaxing and depending on what you get for the basic price of a mere $9 bucks I definitely think its a great deal. This has changed to my nail spot in the city since i've been to so many others and just don't walk out with the same satisfaction that I do when I go to sallys. The owner is a lovely friendly lady who always greets and sometimes if shes not bogged down with appointments will do your nails (shes the best).

I hope everyone gives it a try its a great place, clean, they know what they're doing. I try to go as much as possible, even run down the street during my lunch break to get a manicure thats how quick they are and its not even rushed!

Pros: Great skilled Technicians, They open till late, They work quickly

Cons: They are so popular it can get busy sometimes, but the wait is really minimal

This place is always busy with a constant stream of regulars. They take their time on you, but you never have to wait long! The owner greets everyone as if he's known them for years. Moved here 6 months ago, tried lots of other manicure/pedicure/massage places, and have now officially made this my go-to spot. Had my eyebrows done by Yuki and I will only go to her now. Had a 1 hour massage that was great! My mani/pedis are so relaxing, leg and foot massage and leather massaging chairs, green tea and skilled nail technicians (each individual is licensed, important!). Huge color selection of OPI/Essie, lots of different spa services. Good prices, but it's not your sketchy neighborhood spot with $5 manis, but it's also not your snobby, chic-y high end spot with $30 manis either. Just a clean, relaxing place to unwind with great service and great results.

it all depends on who you get. I've had excellent service there, and I've also had no-so-excellent service. The best idea is to set your expectations a little lower before you go in.
