I've worked in the MSG area for 14 years and loved Harry's when I first came to the area. Like many places, it fell into a rut after about 10 years, and I went there less often. I went back yesterday, and it has a new chef and new manager,

I came here with my husband and we had a drink and some dinner. The manhattan was made right , and my penne with pesto sauce was not bad for a sports bar. If you r looking for a quick bite this is a good choice.

Truffle Fries and a Manhattan to wash it down was just what the doctor ordered tonight! Great place to grab a quick bite and a delish cocktail. Pretty friendly service too.

I come to Harry's often for a business lunch and for drinks after work or a meal before a Garden event. It never disappoints. The lamb lollipops are the most unique appetizer you'll find in a sports bar and quite good. Nearly everything

I love this place. Gotta be one of the longest bars I have ever seen, so there is never a problem getting a drink. The staff are all very friendly and you would not believe how good the food is. I highly recommend this restaurant/bar for anyone who likes food, booze, and sports. Check it out.

My fiancee and I love this place. Everyone is always so friendly (esp our lovely jamaican waitress - don't know her name) Bartender is always great. This is just a cozy place where the food is good and service is friendly - which in this big city is not always easy to find.

Another good choice near Penn Station, like Mustang Sally's ... the two are great places to grab a drink and/or a bite to eat before a big game or show at the Garden.

Definitely a good choice if you are in the MSG area for an event or otherwise. The food is great and so is the atmosphere. I highly recommend Mustang Harry's.

This restaurant is truly outstanding, it's my new fave recommendation. The best of best service. They really care about the customer and they tend to you literally hand and foot. They check on you at just the right times and are extremely helpful. I am a very indecisive person when I see new stuff in a menu but the wait staff guided me in the right direction. I ordered a chicken dish and I didn't expect chicken to taste this good. Everything we ordered was incredible including the cocktails.

Another Penn Station/MSG old standby where you can grab a drink and a decent bite. Especially if you like watching ports, this is the place for you. Extremely crowded on event nights at MSG.

There isn't much in the area to begin with and if you are coming from MSG it's the perfect spot for a drink. The food is pretty good actually. Not too pricey either. I had a good time. I wouldn't go back for a special occasion but definitely worth the drop in if your hungry before or after a show.
Nice and saloonish. Its a shame the awning is ugly.haha. I've noticed the outside appearance has an affect on whether or not I decide on trying it out. Luckily I was more in in mood for a drink and just so happened to order food as well. It's a shame it has such bad reviews. I'd suggest it if your in the area.

I'm just wild about Harry's on 7th Ave. Sure some nights it's all about the Rangers. Or the Knicks (though not so much this year). Or Parrot-heads, bless 'em. But mostly it's about friends and fine beverages. I've been a frequent guest of the good bartenders and hosts of Mustang Harry's for over two years. It started because the second time I went in, the bartender remembered my name. The third time, another bartender knew my name and remembered what I drank. It only got better. The burgers are superb, the onion rings crispy and filled with actual onion, and I care about that. But it's the terrific staff, who clearly love their jobs, that makes you feel you are in a real neighborhood place. Because you are.

Very nice bar and atmosphere, but the food we had was almost inedible. Skip the cheese steak, can't remember what the other person had, but was also not good. Wait staff rushed. Yes, it was a MSG concert night.

Came here for dinner on Friday Night before a concert at MSG. Drinks are ridiculously overpriced $5.50 at the bar, $6 at the table for a domestic bottle. Food is average. Place is deceptively big with a few tv's in front.

Went to Mustang Harry's on a Friday nite- had a few drinks at the bar, bartender and hostesses were all very nice. Things turned sour when we were seated. Or waitress seemed angry that we had already had drinks at the bar- thus not getting drinks from her- and that there were only three of us at a six top. But that's where they sat us, so what could we do! Meal wasn't great and our server barley came back to check on us- pretty sure she left halfway through our meal as the bus staff took over serving our table. bad news !

just got turned on to Mustang Harrys last season, have been to all the other places around the garden before the rangers games and i have to say that i have been generally disappointed....not so with this place.
it is the only one where they make you feel at home and the bartenders always remember you when you return, this is great seeing as the place is usually very busy.
the food is always good, you cant go wrong with the wings and burgers, plenty of beers on tap.
i have read the other reviews, good and bad and have to say that i have never had a bad time here.
staff are friendly , from the host to the bartenders and i recommend it to everyone i know.
looking forward to the start of the next rangers season.

a group of my friends and i went to mustang harrys before the justin timberlake concert, and although the place looked pretty full we were given a booth in a little under 5 minutes, which was perfect as we could have a drink at the bar first.....very cute bartenders!!!
our server also couldnt have been better ,he came to the table seconds after we were seated, we already had our drinks so he left us to decide what we wanted and was back to take our order as soon as we left the menus down....impressive seeing as the place was very busy.
we ordered and recieved our meal in about 10-15 minutes and everything was delicious
i would send any friends or family here in the future without hesitation .
excellent !

i have been to mustang harrys at least 10 times in the past year alone, i generally go in before i catch my train home or if i am in the city at the weekend i go there for a meal with my family ,my seven year old son and his little sister.
i have yet to have a bad experience there ..the bartenders are great and it is like stopping by a friends house you are made to feel so welcome
the same goes for the wait staff, there is a childrens menu and of course this is great as i have two picky eaters on my hands!!!! the regular menu offers a little of everything and the food is generally very good.
i look forward to my next visit..

Well let me begin and tell that this was the worst day of my life........Went to Mustang Harry's after work for a few drinks and a bite...and then the nightmare began.... Started off at the bar for a cocktail, was fine and went down a treat after a long day! Bar Staff was friendly and even bought us a drink! Proceeded to sit down for dinner only to been greeted by an abrupt, arrogant foreign waitress who questioned why we brought our drinks from the bar. We were rushed to order our food even thought there was only a handful of tables. When it eventually arrived 40 mins later cold and unedible our server argued with us and we had to ask to speak to a manager. Another 20 mins of further waiting entailed to speak to the so called manager. This so-called manager who hadnt an ounce of professionalism mumbled her way through the conversation which lead no where. Her short and abrupt manner was as short as her hair! All I can say is that I would never step foot in here again. Management was HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whole new concept to dive bar!!!!!!

We ate here as a group of four before a concert at the MSG, and had a meal which started badly, and got worse. We had a problem with one of our orders - one of our party is pregnant, so she ordered the strip steak salad with the steak to be "medium-well done", but it arrived after 35 minutes with the steak purple-rare and still moo-ing. When we asked the server to get the kitchen to cook it a little longer, she agreed it was undercooked, but then proceeded to argue with us for five minutes on whether we should have ordered it "well done" instead of "medium-well done" (when the right answer would have been to simply say, "Sorry, I'll fix that for you").

When the meal came back, the steak was fine, but the mushrooms, pine nuts and viniagrette were missing - in fact the plate had just a charred steak and dry lettuce which looked most unpalatable. After another trip to the kitchen, the meal was finally ready, but by this time the rest of the table had finished, and we were late for the concert.

The scariest part of the experience was yet to come however. Just as we sent the meal back a second time, one of the air conditioning units in the ceiling started leaking water - through a light fitting! We became nervous about electrocution, fire, etc, and pointed it out to several wait staff and our waitress, who all looked hard at the steady stream of water coming from the light, and the growing pool of dirty water soaking the carpet next to our table, and did.....
to 4 decimal places....
exactly nothing.

They did not even turn off the light!

Naturally, we finished up quick smart and took off before the place blew up. We did notice before leaving that our bill did not provide any sort of complimentary meal or drink for the inconvenience. Given it is clear we will never go back, it probably made sense to get every last penny out of us.

There are so many good restaurants in New York, it's not really necessary to give the bad ones a second chance.

I had dinner at Mustang Harry's one evening after shopping with my children at Macy's and had such a wonderful experience. Our server was friendly and very helpful with suggestions on the menu. My children were offered a kids menu which showed us that they were accomidating to all ages. Its great to know that there are still kid friendly places in the city. We now have a favorite spot to bring the kids for all our family events. Great food and great service. Kudos to Mustang Harry's!

I've been coming here for years and have always had a good time. I'm usually there before and/or after Knick games. They have a good beer selection and a nice, typical "NYC Irish style bar" atmosphere. Definitely go for a burger of some sort. They are HUGE!

This place is a few extra blocks down from the Garden, which makes up for it. It's less crowded on NCAA days and NBA days. You will see some Knick players stroll in after the game. This place has typical bar food with a good selection of beers on tap.

Not a place to party all nite for sure I"m guessing it's empty an hour after game ends and 10 mins before one starts

Visited this pub just South of The Garden with my wife and two college-aged kids. The young Irish lass who waited on us was one of my all-time favorites - great service and great timing. Her menu suggestions were right on the money. The two notable meals were my blackened catfish and my son's turkey pot pie - absolutely delicious. We sat alongside the bar - a little noisey but c'mon, I did say this was a NYC pub. I liked it so much that I took plenty of take-home menus and business cards to share with family and friends. Bottom line - we walked away raving about the food, the waitress, the clientele, and, most of all, the reasonable price. Give this one a try, folks. You will not be disappointed.

At 3PM on a Friday afternoon when the place is all but empty, we should not be waiting 20 minutes for our drinks, especially when the somewhat pretentious Russian waitress walks by our table a dozen times. Other than the poor service, which I have heard from others is not the norm, I have no complaints, good eats & plenty of room at our table. Not overly priced when you consider what some other joints in the area are charging. Overall I'd say this is a good stop before heading to a show/game at the garden if you want a clean, relatively quiet atmosphere.
