Though I was enticed by the low price $500 for 15 lessons, I was more than disappointed by the quality of the school. Mrs. Mora, who runs the office, is very disorganized. It took multiple calls and messages to reach her. In addition, she didn't give you much choice in when your lessons were scheduled and instead picked times that worked well for the school. Several times she rescheduled my lesson for no reason and I had to repeatedly remind her to schedule my driving test. Mr. Mora, who taught the lessons, often talked on his cell phone during the lesson or loudly sung along to the music he blared on the radio. Most of the lesson was spent driving straight with not enough time spent on turns, parallel parking and three point turns. When he did cover these things, they were in conditions very different from those of the test. Additionally, I sometimes was asked to act as a chauffeur, picking up passengers, including Mrs. Mora. The test was scheduled at a site outside of the city, so the environment was very different from where we had practiced. On the test day, he insisted we arrive two hours early, worsening the pre-test jitters. Though Mr. Mora said that I was ready after 15 lessons and a lot of practice outside of that, I failed the test. One of the major concerns of the examiner was that I drove too slow. I was very unhappy with this, as Mr. Mora spent my first 10 lessons telling me to drive slower. Needless to say, when I retake the test, I won't do it through Mora Driving School.
