Pros: pimps/hoes/drugseverywhere

Cons: cheap

Might not be the fanciest or most trendy, but c'mon, it's Windsor Terrace. Are you expecting NOBU?
The staff is really friendly, the fish is always good, and they are always trying new rolls. Not to mention they are happy to make you whatever you want.
It is the perfect little neighborhood spot and we are happy to give them our business.
Go and enjoy!

This place is ok, I have only ever ordered takeout but it always hits the spot. Its nothing amazing but it fits my needs.

Faircritic, why on earth would you keep eating something if you found something questionable?! If you have eaten a bunch of eel rolls in your life and never found a bone, why wouldn't you refuse to pay for the roll right then and there instead of finishing your meal? If I found a BONE in my sushi I don't think I could continue eating it, ESPECIALLY after I told the waitress AND the chef and they didn't care. Maybe the establishment did not handle the issue well but they did have a point in asking why you finished it if you didn't want to be charged for it!!

As I said I have only ever ordered take out. The staff is nice enough for the 5 minutes I am there; I have probably ordered about 20 times there and they only messed up my order once (I asked for 2 rolls and was charged for and given one.) If you live in the neighborhood and have a craving for sushi I definitely recommend it.

Pros: Right around the corner from my apt, decent price, pretty good food

Cons: The ambience is a little blah, I don't think I would sit down and eat there

I ducked in one night and sat at the sushi bar. I wasn't impressed with the atmosphere but was craving. I noticed it was a different crew than when I had last eaten there a couple years ago...new owners. I used to like the chef at the sushi bar there as he was very friendly and sociable. These new guys behind the bar were the opposite though ...rude even. As i was eating the mediocre sushi, I bit into a bone in my eel avocado roll!!! Luckily I found it and didn't choke to death. When I pointed it out to the waitress she didn't seem to care. The chef saw this and said nothing. I was surprised as sushi chefs usually take more pride in their product and service. I thought they would be apologetic and make me a new one but they said nothing. When i finished eating, I asked the waitress to point out the bone to the chef. He never looked at me and just told her to tell me that sometimes eel has bones in it. I was incredulous!!! I told the waitress that it was dangerous and that i had eaten tons of eel rolls in my lifetime and never found a bone!!! They didn't get it!!! I told her I wasn't going to pay for it and they said that i shouldn't have eaten the whole thing!!! infuriating!!!...the bone was bad enough.. the attitude added insult to injury!!! what a joke this place is!!! I said it was the last of the six pieces that had the bone in it!!! They finally agreed not to charge me but I would never go back there again. The chefs were even muttering some thing in japanese about me and chuckling. Terrible experience!!! Stay away. These people have no class and take no pride in their work. Not the type of people who you should trust handling and serving raw fish.

Friends and I were in the area to catch the Rent film and just took a chance on a new place, in an area that apparently doesn't have many choices.

The sushi was fresh. The atmosphere was comfortable. We needed to eat our dinner quickly and were accommodated easily by our waitress. Since one of our friends was running late, we order take-away but weren't given napkins so we took one of the table heavy paper napkins. The head waitress went into a tizzy, told us not to take the napkin, and even went so far as bring cheaper paper from the kitchen. Not cool.
Not planning to return either.

Quite possibly the worst meal I have ever had in New York City. The Donburi was disgusting, and the only part of the bento box that was remotely palatable was the miso soup. Simply awful.

why is this a 7.0? it's pretty darn good eating!
Super fresh fish, wonderful staff, and ok ambiance.
There are better places, but this is a good value if you live nearby.
