Hi.
I am a recent bride that choose to work with Charles florist.
I ordered bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, church arrangements, pew flowers and decorations, rose petals, and my center pieces for the reception.
Everything looked spectacular, and I received tons of compliments.
I especially liked the bouquets and center pieces, as I paid close attention to them.
Center pieces were done elegant as requested by me.
I have used Charles florist for a very very long time close to 20 years and I can't say anything bad about them.
Patrick is a person that I worked with and absolutely love him, He is very knowledgeable and is willing to work with you on anything..

Very hard for me to believe that people said that their flowers die quickly, I have never experienced that, infect 1800 flowers die quicker than Charles florist's.

I would absolutely recommend this florist to anyone. If you want to see pictures from my wedding, email me at hruszka@hotmail.com

Give them a shot they are great to work with, especially Patrick :)
PROS: great design, price, nice to work with

Words cannot describe the utter disappointment my bride and I felt on my wedding day upon seeing the poor quality of work that Charles Florals put into our floral arrangement. We contracted Charles Florals located in Astoria, NY to provide table settings and the ceremony archway for our wedding at a reception hall in June of 2010 at a cost of approximately $1,600.00. At our final consultation five days before the wedding with Ivie from Charles Floral, we were told that the first three arches of the ceremony archway would be covered with flowers and that tulle will be hanging between the additional arches. We were also told that the flowers used on the arches would be white flowers with a touch of pink roses. Ivie also stated that she would be there at the start of the ceremony to put rose petals out on the runner.

About forty-five minutes before the ceremony, we arrived at our reception hall, where the ceremony was taking place, to discover the poor quality of work. The archway for the ceremony was not done up like we had discussed with Ivie, the arch work done was not what we requested and was just filled with a whole lot of green leaves instead of "white flowers with a hint of pink roses" which we had requested. The tulle was poorly hung and falling down by the time the ceremony was about to begin. The metal arches that were to be covered with hung tulles were obviously standing out in the background of our ceremony place.

In addition, the wedding reception centerpieces were not done as nice as the sample one that was prepared for us prior to the contract signed. Unlike that sample one, the centerpieces had too many green leaves in them. The bouquets for the bridesmaids were a mere bundle of white flowers with just a few bunches, which began to wilt and die by the afternoon.

Last, but not least, the rose petals were left in a plastic bag, and we had to ask someone from the reception place to put out on the runner because Ivie was not there to complete her job.

If you are planning a wedding or any event that matters to you, then we urge you to consider using a different florist than Charles Floral. If you are interested in seeing pictures of the work that Charles Floral performed, then send me an e-mail (gtm0107@gmail.com). I can e-mail you the pictures.

Sincerely,

A very upset wedding couple!

Each year a family friend sends me a bouquet of flowers for my birthday.. This year's flowers came from Charles Florals and they are a disaster. Wilted with half the water in the cardboard box that held the vase.
We had gone out for lunch and received a phone call when we returned saying that they had tried to deliver the flowers but that no one was home. I called back and said that we were home and the response was "Tried to deliver the flowers but no one was home. I'm not sure that I can get back there today. I may have to deliver the flowers tomorrow." Generally, florists call before attempting delivery to a private home and I've never heard a florist say that he might have to deliver the next day. If these flowers look bad now, I wonder what they'd look like tomorrow. This florist definitely needs some public relations training and more important - fresh flowers!!!

Charles Florals is practically a permanent fixture in Astoria. The store has been there for as long as I can remember. I was a maid of honor in a wedding in November of 2004 and the bride selected Charles Florals based on design, price, and amicability/ knowledge of the floral designer. She ordered bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages which were delivered as promised. The flowers were fresh and arranged beautifully with bright, vivid colors.

PROS: great design, price, nice to work with
CONS:
