Sidetracks has been a part of Sunnyside, Queens for 20 years. It was a delicate balance to remain a part of this diverse neighborhood, while updating the space to become a lounge restaurant retreat for all to enjoy. When entering the space from the city streets, the colors are soothing but powerful. The hostess greets you and directs you to a 40-0 bar/lounge area or to the restaurant. The bar area is highlighted by an ?umbrella? of 57 golden shades that reflect a warm glow that soothes, but excites the space. The restaurant is separated by a media wall of flat screen TV's and mood lights with open cells so diners can experience the energy of the bar without being overpowered by it.Sidetracks offers many diverse experiences for the patron to enjoy. Fine dining, lounge, bar and private parties can be achieved in this neighborhood hot spot
Sidetracks is good if you enjoy Irish music - they have good Irish music on the weekends. The food and bar are good as well. Get there early on the weekend if you plan on being seated.

Sidetracks is a fabulous bar and restaurant! Although, I have never eaten in the restaurant section, the decor is top notch. The bar is stupendous! From the food, to drinks, to staff and the expensive new decor, Sidetracks is a happening place for the professional crowd.

This is hands down my all time favorite restaurant in Queens. I've been going here for years and I just adore this gem. The ambiance is top notch, perfect for cocktails and appetizers on a Friday or a full on dinner any night of the week. The all stafs are all super friendly and I consider many to be friends, as we've gotten to know each other over the years. I would recommend to anyone.
Pros: food,service

I am in my thirties and have lived in Sunnyside all of my life. Some friends and I decided to go to this place for a few drinks on a thursday night and were appalled by how we were treated. The guy at the door was rude and obnoxious. He wanted to charge 20 dollars per person to get in the place and even shoved us out of the way when we were trying to ask a question. They are trying to portray an upscale environment because of their renovations but maybe they should hire staff with manners and respect for their costumers. Unless you are flashing your wallet, your body and your lack of class this place is definitely not worth your time. And If you are thinking of going during the week for the food, don't bother, that's pretty tasteless too.
Pros: NONE
Cons: EVERYTHING

very well designed. they do need to work on the lighting to pull it together.
and guys why ? why? why? spend alll that dosh on decor and fail to splash out on the chef
treat yourself . get a new menu, chef and d.j. spend $20,000 advertising it, hire a manager (on $$$)
and make some real money.
Pros: looks fab
Cons: just is not fab

Went here to watch a big NFL network football game. The service was really good. There are many flat screen TVs and the restaurant is split up into half bar, half dining. The decoration of the place is very fancy and reminds me of Tonic from Manhattan. The prices are manhattan prices but surprisingly the food was pretty good. I got a good burger from them and our appetizers were pretty good. If you want a local pub theme, there are other irish bars in the area. But if you want a very nice sit down area to watch a dinner, relax , and watch Football with friends, this is a good pick. We had an amazing hostess (an older irish woman) who went out of her way to reserve us a good table in front of the TV and treated us with great hospitality. Also, I lived by the area so I hope they place stays. However, the restaurant should turn off the mood music and put on the football game sound when big games are on.
Pros: lots of flat screen TV, good food, tons of locals gather to watch big games
Cons: too fancy for a rowdy football game match, a little pricy for Sunnyside

This place has a typical sunnyside, queens vibe-multi cultural.People come here to watch a game or have some decent bar food in a place nicer than a bar.The beer selection is pretty good and the bartenders are cool. It's more like a lounge/restaurant with no pretention. There's always a couple of locals having dinner at the bar who are quick to include you in the conversation. It's a good spot.

The place has cleaned up. You can see that from the outside. It has a nice-looking atmosphere. But this place needs to tone it down with the attitude. You get hassled at the door. They try too hard to make the place look exclusive. The hostess made a sarcastic comment after she failed to be there to greet us: "What, you think you can just seat yourselves?" Rude. Annoying.
The food itself isn't worth the price they charge. My French-styled chicken was so dry.
This is not the real Sunnyside. If you want real, good food, go to the neighboring restaurants for a meal worth the money and people who genuinely appreciate your patronage.
Pros: nice decor
Cons: rude, flaky hostess

I recently moved to Woodside, Queens from Brooklyn and was looking for a local place to go out with my girls on Friday nights. We usually hang out in the city, but we are tired of the lines, crowds, expensive drinks, etc. My friends said they ised to go to Sidetracks years ago. I went one night with one of my friends at 2am after hitting a restaurant in Astoria. Kudos to the DJ- music kept us moving. I love hip hop, reggaeton and any type of dance music with a good beat actually. And the DJ played our songs all night long. I am having a Christmas dinner at my apartment with all of my girls this Friday 12/22 and the 12 of us will be heading over to Sidetracks at midnight to continue to party!
Pros: DJ, music, barstaff, friendly doorstaff/bouncers
Cons: late opening, not promoted enough on Fridays

Wanna be Queens hall. Used to be a Great place BEFORE the IRISH DIASPORA of 2002-004. This is part of a couple of bars's that used to be excellent during the heyday of sunnyside-but that has ended. Now it is just a thug bar with local paid out protection-
Not worth your money nor the extra spanish lessons now required.
Still a good joint on Derby Day for some strange reason.

I've eaten in Sidetrack's on numerous occassions. I LOVE the food. I've gone with groups of 3 - 15 people on different days & times and never heard one complaint. The menu is a little limited but everything is fresh and delicious.
As for the night club, I went on a Saturday night a few weeks ago. The music is pretty good Hip-Hop, R&B, dance music and very few techno songs. The crowd is very mixed so you really have to see for yourself. I wouldn't mind going back, but not every weekend and I'd go with a group, not just 1 or 2 people.
Definitely check out the restaurant, take a chance on the club.
Pros: Great food, Plenty of Parking
Cons: Wait to be seated

I read with disgust the review with the heading sidecraps. This disgruntled person is so far of base with their review that i had to set matters straight.
a group of my friends and myself are in sidetracks every saturday night, and have never had a bad time. OK its gets busy but thats the fun of being in a nightclub. The crowd is mixed, the drinks are fairly priced for a nightclub and the DJs play a good selection of music. If this person had a bad time its their own fault.PS not everybody is a lowlife

What a dump!! I realise now that the only people giving this place good reviews are the same lowlives that make the club a disgusting combination of awful music, a scene out of a filthy rap video, and an environment that makes you wonder why they don't have metal detectors at the door. The place is darn right scary! This locale is all ghetto'd out, a combination of Corona, Washington Heights and Hell! Avoid at all costs!
Pros: Nice space
Cons: Crowded, Lowlives, Scary

Have been going to Sidetracks for over 4 years and while the food has always been exceptional, the crowd that started hanging out there in the last year is dragging the place to hell. It turned into a ghetto hangout on Saturday and Friday nights ... shame really as it was one of the few places in the area that was good. Hell .. even Blooms down the block has picked up on this and has been more selective at the door. Save your $$$
Pros: Good Food, Nice Place, Good Prices
Cons: Pretty Poor Service, Ghetto
