I have lived in the neighborhood for many years, and always enjoyed Sidetracks. Lately however, the service and the food have not lived up to expectations. One recent night out with friends spent at Sidetracks was rather disappointing. The waitress actually took the forks off the salad plate and put them back on the table. She was not wearing gloves, and I cannot say one way or the other if they were returned to the correct patron... Food was only ok, and not worth the expense. I hope they can bring it back up to expectations, and soon...

If guys in black silky shirts with gold jewelry and heavy set girls in tight tight short dresses are you're kind of folks, welcome to Sidetracks. Sorta like "Jersey Shore" comes to QNZ Blvd. The food was just all right-- I'd classify it

I first went to this bar/restaurant shortly after moving to sunnyside. My parents and I enjoyed the food, and we had a nice experience. So if you want a nice dinner, and can get there early, this is a nice place to eat.....
HOWEVER.... you're pretty much hit or miss on the service, and the place as just passable appetizers, and drinks. We've had servers mix up our credit card with others, not clear our table, and disappear from the floor (poof!). Appetizers or just ok; I could probably do the same buying frozen appetizers from the supermarket. The drinks are inconsistent and geared toward the younger crowd, being overly sweet, and light on alcohol.
Unless your a 20-something year old, looking for a "hip" (for sunnyside) place on a Friday or Saturday night, stay away. The music is overly loud, there's no place to sit, and there are only a couple of waitresses.
Here is my last experience.
We got there once on a friday night around 9:40, 2 other tables having dinner. We asked are they still serving, and were told please have a seat, and taken to a table. We were looking for some place to sit and chat with friends. Some DJ started loud music around 11pm (annoying, but understandable).... BUT then around 11:20 some guy comes up to our table and tells us, it's reserved and we have to leave the table. I'm pretty shocked, and ask the waiter when he comes. He says "oh, yeah".. Well, we pay and haven't gone back since. You never know when a table will be "reserved" again, so why bother.

Pros: Nice entrees

Cons: everything else needs work, - service- drinks- music etc.

Hubby and I have gone there for dinner twice in the last 2 months and both times have loved it. The menu has great variety (I don't eat meat or poultry), everything is fresh and the service couldn't be better. Try the HOME MADE Tiramisu whoa. Delish!

They've redecorated since I had been there years ago, and it's so hip and relaxing. Great spot.

Sidetracks is good if you enjoy Irish music - they have good Irish music on the weekends. The food and bar are good as well. Get there early on the weekend if you plan on being seated.

Sidetracks is a fabulous bar and restaurant! Although, I have never eaten in the restaurant section, the decor is top notch. The bar is stupendous! From the food, to drinks, to staff and the expensive new decor, Sidetracks is a happening place for the professional crowd.

This is hands down my all time favorite restaurant in Queens. I've been going here for years and I just adore this gem. The ambiance is top notch, perfect for cocktails and appetizers on a Friday or a full on dinner any night of the week. The all stafs are all super friendly and I consider many to be friends, as we've gotten to know each other over the years. I would recommend to anyone.

I am in my thirties and have lived in Sunnyside all of my life. Some friends and I decided to go to this place for a few drinks on a thursday night and were appalled by how we were treated. The guy at the door was rude and obnoxious. He wanted to charge 20 dollars per person to get in the place and even shoved us out of the way when we were trying to ask a question. They are trying to portray an upscale environment because of their renovations but maybe they should hire staff with manners and respect for their costumers. Unless you are flashing your wallet, your body and your lack of class this place is definitely not worth your time. And If you are thinking of going during the week for the food, don't bother, that's pretty tasteless too.

very well designed. they do need to work on the lighting to pull it together.
and guys why ? why? why? spend alll that dosh on decor and fail to splash out on the chef
treat yourself . get a new menu, chef and d.j. spend $20,000 advertising it, hire a manager (on $$$)

Went here to watch a big NFL network football game. The service was really good. There are many flat screen TVs and the restaurant is split up into half bar, half dining. The decoration of the place is very fancy and reminds me of Tonic from Manhattan. The prices are manhattan prices but surprisingly the food was pretty good. I got a good burger from them and our appetizers were pretty good. If you want a local pub theme, there are other irish bars in the area. But if you want a very nice sit down area to watch a dinner, relax , and watch Football with friends, this is a good pick. We had an amazing hostess (an older irish woman) who went out of her way to reserve us a good table in front of the TV and treated us with great hospitality. Also, I lived by the area so I hope they place stays. However, the restaurant should turn off the mood music and put on the football game sound when big games are on.

This place has a typical sunnyside, queens vibe-multi cultural.People come here to watch a game or have some decent bar food in a place nicer than a bar.The beer selection is pretty good and the bartenders are cool. It's more like a lounge/restaurant with no pretention. There's always a couple of locals having dinner at the bar who are quick to include you in the conversation. It's a good spot.

The place has cleaned up. You can see that from the outside. It has a nice-looking atmosphere. But this place needs to tone it down with the attitude. You get hassled at the door. They try too hard to make the place look exclusive. The hostess made a sarcastic comment after she failed to be there to greet us: "What, you think you can just seat yourselves?" Rude. Annoying.

The food itself isn't worth the price they charge. My French-styled chicken was so dry.

This is not the real Sunnyside. If you want real, good food, go to the neighboring restaurants for a meal worth the money and people who genuinely appreciate your patronage.

I recently moved to Woodside, Queens from Brooklyn and was looking for a local place to go out with my girls on Friday nights. We usually hang out in the city, but we are tired of the lines, crowds, expensive drinks, etc. My friends said they ised to go to Sidetracks years ago. I went one night with one of my friends at 2am after hitting a restaurant in Astoria. Kudos to the DJ- music kept us moving. I love hip hop, reggaeton and any type of dance music with a good beat actually. And the DJ played our songs all night long. I am having a Christmas dinner at my apartment with all of my girls this Friday 12/22 and the 12 of us will be heading over to Sidetracks at midnight to continue to party!

Wanna be Queens hall. Used to be a Great place BEFORE the IRISH DIASPORA of 2002-004. This is part of a couple of bars's that used to be excellent during the heyday of sunnyside-but that has ended. Now it is just a thug bar with local paid out protection-
Not worth your money nor the extra spanish lessons now required.
Still a good joint on Derby Day for some strange reason.

I've eaten in Sidetrack's on numerous occassions. I LOVE the food. I've gone with groups of 3 - 15 people on different days & times and never heard one complaint. The menu is a little limited but everything is fresh and delicious.
As for the night club, I went on a Saturday night a few weeks ago. The music is pretty good Hip-Hop, R&B, dance music and very few techno songs. The crowd is very mixed so you really have to see for yourself. I wouldn't mind going back, but not every weekend and I'd go with a group, not just 1 or 2 people.
Definitely check out the restaurant, take a chance on the club.

What a dump!! I realise now that the only people giving this place good reviews are the same lowlives that make the club a disgusting combination of awful music, a scene out of a filthy rap video, and an environment that makes you wonder why they don't have metal detectors at the door. The place is darn right scary! This locale is all ghetto'd out, a combination of Corona, Washington Heights and Hell! Avoid at all costs!

Have been going to Sidetracks for over 4 years and while the food has always been exceptional, the crowd that started hanging out there in the last year is dragging the place to hell. It turned into a ghetto hangout on Saturday and Friday nights ... shame really as it was one of the few places in the area that was good. Hell .. even Blooms down the block has picked up on this and has been more selective at the door. Save your $$$
