.

I've been to John's before, I purchased a motorcycle jacket from him several years ago, he was a tad grumpy but whatever I ignored it as long as the product was good (which it was). I recently outgrew the jacket so I sold it on eBay. I knew John still had a selection of old stock Vanson jackets so I went over.\n\nI purchased my now second $500 jacket from John. Upon taking it home and sitting on the bike with it I wasn't comfortable with the sleeve length and clearly the jacket had been sitting on the hanger for many many years giving it an odd fit. No problem I haven't had it even a day, I have the receipt, tags are still on I'll return it right? Wrong!\n\nJohn simply said ""I don't do that"" when I asked for a return a little less than 18 hours later. After much debate and me basically explaining I've bought two $500 jackets from you, I buy Red Wing, I buy Chippewa and other higher end American made items you sell, why would you not try and accommodate me as a customer? I'm not asking for anything crazy, just a simple return, there is no ""all sales are final"" sign anywhere in the store or on the receipt. John finally and reluctantly agreed to a return. After I got there he was again trying not to take the jacket back or give me a return, he was wanting to have me pay him to alter the sleeves, I don't want to cut into a $500 motorcycle jacket, I would prefer to just buy one that fits without compromising the integrity of the jacket. it was very uncomfortable trying to return the item, really had to go through a lot to get him to write me a check (who writes checks for returns on a credit card?) I promptly cashed the check because I thought it odd to receive a check when I purchased the item on credit card.\n\nUpon leaving I said good bye and thanked him for accommodating me with the return. He ignored me and I was on my way to do business elsewhere, I advise you do the same.

We have visited John's on several occasions recently when our son needed shirts and ties for special occasions. The service is very competent and the prices are higher than big box stores because the quality of the clothing is exceptionally good. We were pleased with the merchandise we purchased and recommend this store highly.

We priced out Carhardts for my husband and father in law at many places. Then we found a coupon for John's stating that they had them. They had the best selection around, and even had suggestions on things to get with them. Often, buying locally can cost a lot more, but this was only a little more than a chain store, and well worth it!
