Great practice with caring staff. You get what you pay for. Phone calls to remind me of appointments, when regular checkups are due, and a genuine caring atmosphere. Seems like the same 3-4 people have written scathing remarks about this

They are truly wonderful people. I've seen others here complain about the wait, but it's just like a regular human hospital. There is going to be a wait, but when they get to your pet, they show give your pet the consideration and compassion it deserves.

The staff is wonderful and Drs Wyler and Andino have always answered answered my questions with thoroughness and patience. They have been much better than any place I have taken my cat to.

Excellent, excellent veterinarians work here. They correctly diagnosed my cat Marybeth's health issues (UNLIKE TWO OTHER QUEENS vets I'd brought her to before being fortunate enough to find Trylon). Trylon helped her return to being happy, lively cat she'd been before getting sick. Thank you!

In short, Dr. Wyler and Dr. Andino are caring, thoughtful veterinarians. And the rest of the staff is professional and pleasant as well. If you want to penny-pinch with your pet's health, shop around, I guess (?), but the other Queens vets I'd been to, yeah they were cheaper, but they also completely misdiagnosed the problem--and wasted my money. Go to Trylon when they return this Spring.

On May 23, 2010, our practice was destroyed in a block fire that destroyed several businesses on Queens Blvd. WE would like to thank all the support and love we have received from our beloved clients. We hope to reopen soon. Most places would want to remove negative reviews and not address them. We understand that we will always be faced with someone who is not satisfied but we hope that those people would take the civil route and allow us to address their concerns privately. If people chose to take their opinions public we cannot possibly help find a positive resolution. We always provide estimates and discuss all options before we proceed. We have voluntarily joined AAHA and are one of three practices in Queens that follow these standards. We recommend everything that is in the patient??s right of "standards of care", whether an owner believes they are needed or not, is a question of personal opinion not medical standards. The advancements in veterinary medicine evolve daily and we do not feel that we should offer our patients any less than the best we can provide. We can stand by our AAHA guidelines and know that it is what we would want for our own pets. We are the only profession in the world where our knowledge and available skills are limited not by technology or medicine but by an individual??s financial means and personal opinions. There are always ??quick, easy, cheap? fixes to problems but they do not address causes and consequences and we would be remiss in not recommending all avenues of diagnosis and treatments for fear of sticker shock and looking ??expensive?. We will continue to offer our clients and patients the same care we would expect for our own and welcome any questions about our practice.

It is painful to read some of the reviews .We have been clients of Dr Wyler for 17 years. At Trylon, time is taken, while examining the animals, loving care is given at all times. And the hospital is Meticulous. Explanations well given of test results and care after. Courtesy and friendly service always .Dr. Wyler and Dr. Adino are very caring loving Vets. The staff each deserves 5 stars. We miss them and hope they will be back soon.

I went to this vet because my cat all of the sudden had a swollen lip and I wanted him to be looked at by a professional, unfortunately, Trylon does not seem to have any good professionals. During my visit the Vet took out a book with pictures to try and figure out what it could be, after flipping through 20 + pages, we concluded that it could be one of 10 different things - NOT VERY HELPFUL, I COULD HAVE DONE THE SAME THING MYSELF!!!! When the vet was examining my cat, she had no idea how to hold him, and required a towel and the pressure of another person, just so she could look at his teeth. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! After all this, the vet recommended that I have my cat tested for Feline Aids even though he had been tested before, just because she wanted to verify he was negative. Just as we were about to leave, and pay the lovely $150 bill, the front desk clerk was watching a program on animal planet with a man running away from a dinosaur and she actually had to ask "That cant be real right?" as though questioning whether or not there were actually dinosaurs roaming about today!!!
Lets just say this, the front desk clerk is merely a preview of the intelligence in that office.

NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN, EVEN THOUGH I LIVE ACROSS THE STREET!!!!

Dr.Frankenstein Wyler is scary and unprofessional. His assistant had know idea how to hold the cat down for check up.It was funny and sad at the same time. I do not recommend Dr Wyler regardless of the great reviews you may come across. I took my injured dog to see Wyler. In a matter of minutes they wanted to do "tests", which I declined. I made them stop and tell me exactly what they were for and their reasons. Only when I spoke up did I realize that half of them were unnecessary. In the quest of good care for my pet, Wyler was willing to test away...at my great expense. The injections, some test and all vitamins..all I declined. The vitamins I bought on Amazon at a huge discount! HUGE. I believe that a doctor has higher cost plus they he can't compete with online retailers. However, he was charging $89 for a product sold online for $26. Identical product. I still spent about $500 that day...but I saved close to $800 for just asking questions and being a smart consumer. My dog today is just as healthy

Dr. Andino was absolutely wonderful when my cat, Bailey had terrible bowel problems, and when it came to the point that he had to be euthanized. I could not have asked for anyone more caring, understanding and knowledgeable to help us at that very difficult time. The vet tech, Karla has also been a godsend as well. They both loved Bailey and treated him with such love and respect, I was truly touched by their compassion. Even afterwards, I received a card, and a call to see how I was doing.

I read a couple of other reviews that had issues with Tryon, and I can only say that going by my experience with Dr. Andino and Karla, I couldn't have asked for anyone better.

I couldn't agree more. I would avoid this vet completely, bring your pets somewhere else. You will only get overcharged for of bunch of tests that aren't necessary.

As a fellow veterinarian,I know Dr Wyler personally. He is not only up to date and knowledgeable, he is a good guy.
Listen, I know how upset you are about the loss of your pet, but this death wasn't Dr Wyler's fault. Donald was a really sick bird; Dr Wyler was doing his best to help him. What happened is very sad, but blaming a good vet will not make it better.

I took my parakeet Donald to Trylon Vet Care because the vet I've been going to for many years recommended that I should get a second opinion, however he did not recommend Trylon Vet Care, I found them in a magazine. (My previous vet has treated 4 of my parakeets for different illnesses they had and every time I went there, I was satisfied. He even treated my turtle when he had a bad respiratory infection. On every visit, I was allowed to be present with my pets and never once did I have to leave them alone with the vet.). He highly recommended that Donald should get a second opinion and for him to get a blood test. Donald was having trouble standing on his feet, but he was eating, drinking and he would have short bursts of energy.

I brought Donald to Trylon Vet Care on 9/6/08. Dr. Wyler looked at him and decided to do 3 tests on him: Gram Stain, Ketodiastix Urine Test and a Fecal Direct Smear. I told him that my previous vet recommended that Donald should be checked for kidney failure, diabetes and tumors. He decided to test him for parasites, diabetes and bacterial infections. He didn't find any parasites in his system and his good and bad bacterial levels were low. He decided to put him on Metronidazole, Bene Bac Bird Gel and Optomega. He said that he could have parasites, even though he didn't find them in his system, the Bene Bac Bird Gel was to raise his good bacteria levels and Optomega was Omega 3. I got the medications, brought him home, and hoped for the best. Donald seemed to be getting better, he was very active, he was desperate to get out of his cage and go back with his flock mates. A couple days later, he started limping. I was very worried about this, I feared that he was in pain. I called Dr. Wyler and he recommended an anti inflammatory medication, which would help him if he possibly injured his leg. He told me that if his kidneys were damaged, it could make his situation worse and he could die. He recommended that I give him this medication, which confused me since this medicine could possibly worsen his condition. On Tuesday, 9/9/08, I decided to bring Donald in, I really wanted his leg to be looked at because I noticed these white deposits on his feet. I did a lot of research the night before and all his symptoms were very similar to articular gout. So I brought Donald in, this was my second visit at Trylon Vet Care.

The last reviews were clearly written by an ignorant, vengeful person who sounds like she is looking for an outlet for her warped angry view of the world.
Dr Wyler is a bright, caring veterinarian, who knows an incredible amount about avian medicine. I have had birds as pets my entire life- I love their intelligence and beauty- they bring me happiness. I have taken my birds to the Animal Medical Center, A and A Veterinary Hospital and Trylon Vet. Dr Wyler is the best in terms of practical compassionate avian medicine. That is all I can say.

Dr. Wyler and his staff are kind and caring people. I have been a long time client and have received nothing but the highest quality care. His knowledge of exotic animals is amazing. I would recommend his clinic to everyone.

If I could give Trylon Vet Care zero stars, I would.

I brought Donald in to see Dr. Wyler at Trylon Vet Care on 9/9//08 because my parakeet Donald was having trouble standing on his feet, and he was very sleepy. Dr. Wyler told me that it could very likely be articular gout, which would explain the white deposits on his feet. He recommended fluid vitamins to give to him orally and a prescription to treat him for gout. He told me he would have to call a pharmacy that would make the medication specially, by grinding a compound into a fine powder and I would have to pick it up at the pharmacy. He told me to leave Donald in the examining room with him and he told me to wait outside while he called the pharmacist. 5 minutes later the staff in the front gives me a estimate for the day sheet for $115. On it, it had Vitamin Injection, Fluids SQ and a Medical Waste charge. I was very confused because Dr. Wyler didn't talk to me about anything on the sheet. I told the lady at the front counter that I did not want Donald to receive any injections, so she crossed it out and I signed a paper stating that Donald would not receive the vitamin injection. 10 minutes later, the vets assistant calls me into the examining room and I found Donald in the palm of Dr. Wyler's hand taking his last breath. He told me he was about to give him the injection and he started convulsing and had a heart attack. I was in complete shock and I was crying hysterically, I couldn't believe that he went ahead and tried to give him an injection without my permission. He insisted that he was very very sick and that I should leave him to be cremated with another charge. I am completely outraged and heartbroken from what this vet did to me and I would never recommended him to anyone!!!! He is overpriced and he only cares about money. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF FROM HEARTACHE, AND DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS TO DR. WYLER. I would never want anyone to experience the pain I carry with me everyday.

I must admit I was hesitant to go after some of the reviews, but I trusted my neighbor and went with my dog. I am glad I did. I've been there twice and saw Dr. Julie and Dr. Wyler. They were amazing! Dr. Julie spent 45 minutes answering all my questions and Dr. wyler was a fountain of information. The staff is fantastic, the office manager Carla is an angel! I watched as they interacted with there clients and pets and saw genuine care and concern. You cant please everyone I guess and everyone has there own reasons why they dont like people but for me my experience was great. The waiting room is hot and small that's my only complaint! Other than that, the prices are higher than some clinics around here more like manhattan prices but I'm ok with it.

Here is the good, ugly, and bad about Dr. Wyler. The good- his staff is professional and helpful. Dr. Wyler does take the time out to explain everything to you during your visit. However he also has a lot of issues. He orders way to many test which are very expensive. He also tends to overreact to potential problems your pet may have by ordering additional test which tend to always come back negative. I have spent over $2,000 in the past year and finally took my animal to the Manhattan Animal Hospital where they told me my pet was fine. He likes to blame the owner for your animals problems instead of looking for other potential causes. Please save your money and send your animals somewhere else before you get sucked up into this money pit.

Dr. Wyler and his staff have nursed my parrot back to health after three major emergencies when other vets would have advised putting her to sleep. They knowledgeable, efficient, caring and they always go above and beyond the call of duty, weather it's a furry, feathered, scaled or shelled pet. They are as excellent with managing the fears and concerns of pet owners as they are with animals - and spend as much time as necessary with owners as with pets. Having dealt with other vets in NYC, I have not found their prices to be out of line - they charge what seems to be the going rates. But in terms of caring, service, knowledge and expertise, they are far and above other vets. I couldn't recommend them more highly.

Now is the time to tell my story. I have a dog. Unfortunately, my dog has had multiple medical issues. I took my dog to several top specialists. None could do anything for him, and even told me to put him to sleep because he would be costing a lot money. My dog is more important than money and it was horrible that they would even suggest that.

I brought my dog to Dr. Wyler. Not only did he spend hours talking to me, answering all my questions, but he never suggested putting my baby to sleep. He said that he would fight for my dog if I was willing to.

Dr. Wyler was on call 24 hours a day for my dog. He even called while on vacation to check on my dog.

I must say, that today my dog is happy and healthy. You can't please everybody...but I have never had a bad experience with anybody at Trylon. They went out of their way for me... and I couldn't recommend them more...

Dr. Wyler was on call 24 hours a day for my dog. He even called while on vacation to check on my dog.

I must say, that today my dog is happy and healthy. You can't please everybody...but I have never had a bad experience with anybody at Trylon. They went out of their way for me... and I couldn't recommend them more...

.

I brought my dog in for a growth removal (on her rear) and she came back with lesions on her stomach and a puncture wound in her chest. This should not have happened as a result of the surgery...but it did! Dr. Wyler was unprofessional and cold not to mention, over-priced. Also, be prepared to wait! Save your money and your tears!

Pros: convenient location

Cons: cold and over priced

I can't begin to tell you how awful they are. They are rude, overpriced and do not care about your pets. They charge ridiculous amounts of money for tests that are not needed. Dr. Wyler is arrogant, nasty and unprofessional.
I would never recommend you take your pets there if you love them

The last experience I had with Trylon was a week ago when I was told to arrive at 9:15am for an appt and found the gate still down and no staff anywhere in site. After an hour of waiting, someone arrived to unlock the door and let me in but did not even acknowledge her tardiness! There was another person who was told to arrive anytime after 8am and had waited nearly 2 hours in her car for someone to show up. I found this to be extremely unprofessional. I'm certainly not criticizing the level of care Drs. Wyler et al provide, but I do feel that with the extremely high pricing, a client could expect a little more. I found it so disappointing.

It is painfully obvious that anybody who does not like this particular vet, does not care about their pets. Yes, this vet costs money. However, the best doctors in the world cost money and are generally more expensive than a doctor that you would see in a walk in clinic. Like anything in life, you get what you pay for. If you want a doctor who is updated on the latest medical treatments and techniques, continuously researches treatments and cares about your pets, then go to Trylon Vet Care. If you want basic medical treatment go elsewhere.Dr. Wyler sees all types of animals from dogs to iguanas. He also sees birds, and is an expert. When all other treatments fails, he will think beyond the box and develop treatments to keep your pet healthy. He doesn't treat your pet based on a text book. He treats them based on research and years and years of experience. How do I know this? He has kept my girl alive for a little over two years with multiple terminal illnesses. The text book says she should be dead. Other doctors have said there is nothing else that can be done... What does the owner expect? There is nothing else that can be done is not in Dr. Wyler's vocabulary. He will go down fighting for your pet.All this work, knowledge and dedication costs money. I will gladly pay any amount for the life of my pet. I often wonder about those who complain about spending money for the best treatment. Would you complain about spending money on your health and your families health? You should treat your pet the same way. If you or your family needed treatment, would you use the best doctors and spend any amount of money? Would you complain about spending that money? Would you spend any amount of money to save your life? Or would you go the cheapest route possible? Your pet deserves the same quality treatment that you would give yourself, and Dr. Wyler exceeds any medical treatment that I have personally received. My cats are treated better than I treat myself.

The vets really care about their patients, but the are extremely overpriced. I never walk out of there without a bill for over $400. New patients have to pay a $30 new patient fee and they are often trying to get you to come back in for additional tests and services. Also, expect to wait a long time.

PROS: good treatment
CONS: pricey, long wait
